Abstract

Limiting the accumulation of capital and supporting competition in the money market is achieved by the Central Bank's control over the activities of commercial banks. Therefore, Central Bank manages the money supply through their assets (primarily loan operations) by influencing the dynamics of deposits of these banks. In addition, commercial banks are the main source of lending to the economy. The Central Bank instructs commercial banks to distribute loans and direct them to important material and social sectors of the economy. The central bank is made up of funds belonging to the Government, in regulating the money supply from the budgetuses. Due to the difference between the time of receipt of state budget revenues and the time of financing budget expenditures, a certain amount of money is accumulated. The central bank will use these funds temporarily. Typically, government-owned funds are kept on the Central Bank’s balance sheet. Therefore, the Central Bank will be able to manage these funds.

Abstract

Over-the-counter (OTC) medicines, also known as nonprescription medicines, refer to medications that can be purchased without a prescription and are safe and effective when used according to the directions on the label, and as directed by a healthcare professional (Food and Drug Admini, 2018).1 Self-medication is becoming increasingly popular around the world. According to studies, the global prevalence of self-medication ranges from 11.2 to 93.7%, depending on the target population and country (Balbuena et al., 2009;2 Kasulkar and Gupta, 2015; 3 Arrais et al., 2016; 4 Håkonsen et al., 2016;5 Prado et al., 2016; 6 Gama and Secoli, 2017; 7 Helal and Abou-ElWafa, 2017; 8 Abdi et al., 2018;9 Kassie et al., 2018; 10 Lei et al., 2018; 11 Tesfamariam et al., 2019). 12 This means a large proportion of the world’s population uses drugs without first consulting a doctor or healthcare professional. Countries differ with regards to where nonprescription medicines to be sol d. In many countries, they are restricted to pharmacies, even though in some of these countries a pharmacist is not always present. In others, some medicines are restricted to pharmacies while others may be sold outside of pharmacy. In still others, such as the United States, all non-prescription medicine sold in any outlet. The reasoning is that if it is safe enough to be used in self-medication, the labeling is adequate to assure safe and effective use in culture where the pharmacist has a long tradition of a monopoly on medicines, such as in majority of the countries of the European Union (EU), all medicines are restricted to sale in a pharmacy.

Abstract

The payment system using a credit card is an effort to reduce the use of cash instruments, in addition to debit cards and electronic money. With current technological developments, payment systems made in cash as is generally done, tend to be impractical because they must be provided in various nominal terms. Abstract

This article discusses the importance of the production of renewable alternative energy resources in our society. It is reported that Uzbekistan has unlimited opportunities for the production of solar and wind electricity, the needs for foreign and domestic investment in its production, and therefore the construction of RER (Renewable energy sources) production stations in the regions. In this regard, hydrogen, which is an environmentally friendly fuel, is also important. At a time when 50-60% of the energy produced in the energy system in developed countries is due to renewable energy sources, the fact that this figure is less than 5% in Uzbekistan means that this issue is extremely relevant.

Abstract

Just as the emergence of Internet and ICT innovates, instigates and transforms all facets of life and sectors of the society; so also, is the tenacity, tempo and geometric penetration of cybercrimes. The devastating consequences including economic doldrum, low gross domestic product (GDP), inclement investment environment, loss of billions and confidence through e-fraud, e-scams, data interception, and system and data interference, among others beckon decisive inhibition. However, slow and ill-implementation of legislation, lack of virtual evidence, knowledge of investigation and parochialism has continued to define most actions to protect the cyberspace. The paper qualitatively through social survey and multi-stage sampling methods examines parameters of cybercrimes as one of the enablers of economic crisis in Nigeria, using Akwa Ibom State as a specific study site. The discourse is shaped within theoretical frame of Situational Crime Prevention (SCP), since its strands are descriptive of the ravaging circumstances of cybercrimes, cybercriminals, and the obtuse and ductile tactics toward containment of cybercrimes. The result indicates that cybercrimes have strangulated the economy, and that its prevalence and spate annihilate germane quest for economic recovery. Therefore, utilisation of data surveillance technologies, SCP intervention techniques, cybercrimes’ awareness and education, intelligence-policing, faithful legislation and implementation are recommended.

Abstract

The study investigated the implication of foreign direct investment flows in the prevalence of management approaches in thirty multinational organizations in Nigeria. The multivariate regression analysis was employed for the identification of factors in the Nigeria investment environment (other than fiscal performance) that may have strong mediating impact. Results from the analysis showed that the predominant staffing strategy in most multinational organizations with FDI presence skew to polycentric (β = 0.28; p < 0.05) staffing approach more than to ethnocentric (β = 0.03; p < 0.05). This can be explained by the prevalence of host country staffers occupying strategic position in host country’s offices. Manager’s perception of employee effectiveness is largely influenced by the employee level of aptitude and the employee tacit personality traits.
