Abstract

Religious education at the elementary school level plays a crucial role in shaping children’s character, moral values, and mental balance from an early age. This stage of education is a critical period for emotional, social, and cognitive development, where the internalization of spiritual values becomes essential to foster empathy, self-awareness, and emotional well-being. However, in practice, religious education often focuses primarily on cognitive and doctrinal aspects, which limits its impact on students’ psychological and emotional growth. This study aims to analyze the influence of religious education on children’s mental health and psychological well-being through a descriptive-comparative literature review method. Data were collected from various academic journals, scientific studies, and research findings published between 2020 and 2025, focusing on the relationship between spirituality and elementary education. The analysis reveals that contextual, reflective, and interactive religious education has a significant positive impact on improving students’ spiritual well-being, emotional regulation, and psychological resilience. Reflective learning approaches that encourage dialogue and empathy help students internalize spiritual values through real-life experiences, resulting in balanced intellectual, emotional, and spiritual development. Empirical findings from elementary schools in Sorong City also indicate that reflective and experience-based religious learning enhances children’s empathy, self-control, and emotional stability. Nevertheless, challenges persist, including the dominance of traditional teaching models centered on memorization and the growing influence of digital culture on children’s behavior. The study concludes that religious education must evolve into a collaborative, experiential, and spiritually grounded pedagogical model to effectively support children’s mental health, foster moral maturity, and promote sustainable psychological well-being. Abstract

This study aims to examine in depth the challenges and strategies employed by multi-subject teachers in carrying out the teaching and learning process at SD Nurul Sakinah Azzahrah, Sorong City. The emergence of multi-subject teachers is a consequence of the limited number of educators, requiring one teacher to handle several subjects beyond their area of expertise. This research applied a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through in-depth interviews, classroom observations, and documentation review. The findings reveal that teachers face several major challenges, including limited time for lesson preparation, varying levels of subject mastery, and a lack of learning media and facilities. Nevertheless, teachers demonstrate adaptability by employing strategies such as utilizing simple technology, creating context-based learning materials from the local environment, and adjusting instructional approaches to students’ characteristics. Support from school leadership and collaboration among teachers also enhance the effectiveness of learning. The study concludes that creativity, professional reflection, and strong commitment are key factors in ensuring the success of multi-subject teachers in maintaining learning quality in elementary schools with limited resources.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate whether there is a relationship between analytical thinking skills and the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in solving mathematics problems among students of SD Inpres 14, Sorong Regency. The research employed a quantitative correlational approach with a saturated sample of 26 fifth-grade students. The instruments used included an analytical thinking skills test, classroom observation, and analysis of students’ work documents (answer sheets). Data were analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistics (Pearson correlation test and independent samples t-test). The main findings revealed a significant negative correlation between analytical thinking scores and AI usage intensity (correlation coefficient r ≈ –0.65, p < 0.01), indicating that students who relied more heavily on AI tended to have lower analytical thinking scores. The t-test comparing two groups (high vs. low AI use) also showed a significant difference in analytical skills (t(24) ≈ –7.21, p < 0.01). These results confirm the research hypothesis that there is a negative relationship between AI usage and students’ analytical thinking abilities. In conclusion, although AI can facilitate mathematical concept comprehension, excessive reliance on it may reduce students’ independent analytical capacity. The findings highlight the importance of teachers’ roles in guiding students to use AI wisely while maintaining active analytical engagement during problem-solving.

Abstract

This study was conducted with the aim of describing the level of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) literacy of students at SD Negeri 95 Palembang and analyzing various relevant determining factors. A descriptive qualitative approach was used in this research, involving 21 fourth-grade students and one homeroom teacher as the main subjects. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, observations, and documentation, and then analyzed using the Miles & Huberman model. The findings reveal that although all students have mastered basic digital device skills, the level of technology use in the context of academic learning tends to be minimal. Data indicate that less than one-third (28.5%) of students use computers/tablets to complete school assignments, and just over half (52.3%) have an understanding of online learning applications. Four main variables affecting ICT literacy were identified, namely accessibility of facilities, competence Teachers, family support (parents), and student learning motivation. ICT literacy improvement will be more effective if supported by adequate facilities, skilled teachers, and family involvement

Abstract

Understanding learner characteristics is a crucial foundation for implementing effective and equitable education. Each learner possesses unique differences in potential, learning styles, interests, and socio-cultural backgrounds that influence learning processes and outcomes. This article aims to analyze a characteristic-based approach to developing three major educational aspects: cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. Using a qualitative descriptive approach through library research, the study synthesizes relevant literature on learner development. The results indicate that instructional approaches considering learner characteristics enhance learning effectiveness and holistic personal growth. The cognitive aspect relates to thinking and reasoning abilities; the affective aspect involves attitudes, values, and motivation; while the psychomotor aspect pertains to physical and motor coordination skills. These three domains should be developed harmoniously by considering learning styles (visual, auditory, kinesthetic) and individual differences such as talents, interests, and multiple intelligences. The findings imply that teachers and curriculum developers should adapt learning strategies and content to accommodate diverse learner characteristics, particularly in the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum, to promote inclusive and meaningful learning experiences.

Abstract

The humanistic approach in education emphasizes the holistic development of learners, encompassing emotional, social, and academic aspects. The library research method was chosen because the study focuses on exploring concepts and theories regarding the humanistic approach in education as well as the nature of students as pedagogical beings. This study examines the benefits, challenges, and implementation strategies of the humanistic approach within the context of modern education. Findings reveal that this approach enhances learners’ motivation, creativity, and confidence, while fostering self-awareness and social responsibility. However, successful implementation requires adequate resources and proper teacher training. This study recommends strengthening teacher training, providing sufficient resources, and fostering collaboration among stakeholders to support the sustainability of the humanistic approach in education. Thus, the humanistic approach can contribute to producing learners who excel not only intellectually but also emotionally and socially.
