Abstract

Abstract Addressing people is an essential element and unavoidable in every discourse as it marks the beginning of a smooth discourse construction. Every language has its specific terms of address that is largely influenced by various aspects in the speech community. This reasearch is aimed at identifying and describing the terms of address thats are used by the two main figures in the novel written by Mark Twain (Samuel Langhorne Clemens) entitled The Prince And The Pauper. In this research the researcher implemented the descriptive method is his attempt to present in detail his analysis of the research question. The data of this research is collected from many discourse situations uttered by the two main figures in this novel. The data is the reduced and analyzed based on the situastion, status, identity, and ascending generation of the figures according to the the set of rules of terms of address presented by Ervin Tripp. The result of this research shows that the terms of address used in this novel is accordingly based on the set of rules of terms of address by Ervin-Tripp, so the result of this research supports the aforementioned rules. Abstract

Abstrak Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara peran orang tua dengan prestasi belajar siswa SMA. Secara spesifik, penelitian ini menggambarkan seberapa tinggi tingkat peran orang tua dan prestasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Agama Kristen dan korelasi atau hubungan antara keduanya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan penggunaan analisis statistika deskriptif dan korelasional. Penelitian ini dilakukan di sebuah SMA yang terletak di Kelurahan Airmadidi Bawah, Kecamatan Airmadidi, Kabupaten Minahasa Utara, Sulawesi Utara. Populasi yang diteliti ialah siswa kelas 12 IPA dengan jumlah responden sebanyak 56 siswa yang berpartisipasi dalam pengambilan data. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah sebuah kuesioner yang diisi oleh responden secara luring. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peran orang tua dalam meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa tergolong tinggi. Selain itu, ditemukan bahwa tingkat prestasi belajar agama siswa termasuk pada kategori cukup. Yang terakhir, terdapat korelasi positif yang signifikan antara peran orang tua dan prestasi belajar anak mereka. Kata kunci—peran orang tua, prestasi belajar siswa, mata pelajaran Agama Kristen Abstract The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the role of parents and the learning achievement of high school students. Specifically, this study describes how high the level of parental role and student learning achievement in Christian subjects is and the correlation or relationship between the two variables. This research used a quantitative approach with the use of descriptive and correlational statistical analysis. This research was conducted at a high school located in Airmadidi Bawah Village, Airmadidi District, North Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi. The population studied was 12th grade science students with a total of 56 respondents who participated in data collection. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire filled out by respondents offline. The results showed that the role of parents in improving student learning achievement was high. In addition, it was found that the student's religious learning achievement level fell into the category of sufficient. Finally, there is a significant positive correlation between the role of parents and their children's learning achievement. Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengalaman belajar online siswa SMA selama masa pembelajaran dari rumah di tahun 2020. Penelitian ini dilakukan terhadap enam orang siswa SMA di sebuah sekolah swasta di Kecamatan Airmadidi, Kabupaten Minahasa Utara, Sulawesi Utara. Wawancara dilakukan dengan para siswa ini untuk memperoleh data yang dianalisis. Data kemudian dianalisis secara kualitatif menggunakan proses tiga langkah, yaitu kondensasi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa pembelajaran online kurang efektif, interaksi antara siswa dengan guru berkurang, siswa kurang memahami penjelasan guru di kelas online, terdapat gangguan koneksi jaringan internet selama pembelajaran, dan siswa mengalami kehabisan kuota internet saat mengikuti kelas. Secara keseluruhan, siswa berpendapat bahwa pembelajaran tatap muka di sekolah lebih efektif dibandingkan pembelajaran online. Kata kunci—pembelajaran online, pembelajaran daring, pengalaman belajar online Abstract This study aimed to describe the online learning experiences of high school students during the learning from home period in 2020. This research was conducted on six high school students at a private school in Airmadidi District, North Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi. Interviews were conducted with these students to obtain the analyzed data. The data were then analyzed qualitatively using a three-step process, namely data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study found that online learning was less effective, interaction between students and teachers was reduced, students did not understand the teacher's explanations in online classes, there were internet network connection interruptions during learning, and students ran out of internet quota when attending classes. Overall, students argued that in-person learning in schools is more effective than online learning. Keywords—online learning, online learning experiences, online learning during pandemic

Abstract

Abstract: This study was conducted due to the low level of online learning participation observed during the second year of online learning implementation due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia. It aimed to discover the relationship between online learning motivation level and online learning participation rate. It also sought to study the difference between males and females in terms of online learning motivation levels. It was a descriptive, differential, and correlational quantitative study using the survey method. The population of this study was Grade XI students of a private senior high school. The students took part in filling out a paper-based questionnaire and the data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The analysis results showed that there was a significant correlation between students’ online learning motivation level and their online learning participation rate. Another important result was that there was a significant difference between males and females in terms of online learning motivation levels. It was concluded that the higher students’ level of online motivation, the higher their online learning participation rate would be. Finally, males have a slightly higher online motivation level than females. Abstract

This study aims to find the correlation between students learning styles and their English academic achievement. This research used quantitative method which involved descriptive (MEAN score) and correlation (Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient) analyses. To gather the data, a questionnaire was used as the instrument to measure the learning styles of the students. This research used a convenience sampling method for the study. This study was conducted at SMA Unklab Airmadidi with 80 respondents from grade X IPA. The result of this study showed that students learning styles were correlated with their English achievement. Abstract

This study was to determine the correlation between Game-based learning and Students behavioral engagement. This study used quantitative design method which were descriptive and correlational. The instrument used in this study is questionnaire. The researchers adapted the questionnaire from Kolengen (2012) for Game-based learning and second questionnaire adapted from Setyowati (2021) for Student behavioral engagement. The respondents of this study were 65 students from grades VII C and VII D of SMP Advent Unklab. The result of this study showed that the level of used Game-based learning was 4.00 which is categorized in high level. Secondly, the level of Student behavioral engagement was 3.91 which is high level. The last result showed that there is significant correlation between Game-based learning and Student behavioral engagement.

Abstract

Abstract The main purpose of this study was to find out the correlation between mental health problems and English achievement of students at a private high school in Airmadidi, Indonesia. This study also explored the mental health problems that was categorized as depression, anxiety, and stress, and student English achievement. The results showed that the overall mental health problems were categorized in moderate level. The English achievement was categorized as below average. There was a significantly negative correlation between the student mental health problems and their English achievement. It signified that the higher score in the final test of English subject was significantly associated with lower mental health of the students. The higher the mental health problems, the lower the score in English final test of the students. Keywords: mental health, English achievement, depression, anxiety, stress.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari hubungan antara pola asuh orang tua dan prestasi belajar siswa SD. Penelitian ini bersifat kuantitatif-korelatif yang pengambilan datanya dilakukan menggunakan convenience sampling method di salah satu SD swasta di Kota Manado. Untuk mengetahui apakah ada hubungan yang signifikan antara pola asuh orang tua dan prestasi belajar siswa digunakanlah analisis pearson correlation. Untuk mengetahui tingkat pola asuh orang tua dan prestasi belajar siswa digunakan analisis rerata score. Hasil analisis yang dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa tingkat pola asuh orang tua dan prestasi belajar siswa adalah tinggi. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi Gerakan Literasi Sekolah (GLS), faktor-faktor pendukung dan penghambat serta merumuskan solusi dalam mengatasi faktor-faktor penghambat GLS di SMK Batik 2 Surakarta tahun ajaran 2019/2020. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian studi kasus dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini yaitu wakil kepala sekolah, guru mata pelajaran akuntansi, dan peserta didik terdiri dari kelas X, XI, XII. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data melalui reduksi, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan implementasi GLS di SMK Batik 2 Surakarta, diwujudkan dalam kegiatan 15 menit membaca buku non pelajaran saat kegiatan reading morning, siswa mengikuti lomba karya ilmiah serta lomba film dokumenter, dan membudayakan e-learning dengan memanfaatkan media e-learning seperti moodle, quipper, dan Edmodo. Faktor pendukung implementasi GLS diantaranya peran aktif seluruh warga sekolah, tersedianya sarana dan prasarana sekolah, dan perpustakaan sekolah. Faktor-faktor penghambat implementasi yaitu kurangnya motivasi siswa, kondisi buku yang rusak, terbatasnya jumlah koleksi buku bacaan, dan tidak tersedianya perpustakaan kelas. Solusi mengatasi faktor penghambat yakni siswa diajak ke perpustakaan, mengajak siswa membaca buku 15 menit, pemberian tugas untuk membaca dan membuat catatan hasil membaca, siswa mengerjakan soal-soal dari materi hasil browsing melalui internet, dan perlu adanya pojok baca kelas.
