Abstract

The need for water in an area will always increase with population growth, while the water itself decreases in terms of quality, quantity, and continuity. The potential for health problems due to the microbiological quality of drinking water that does not meet the requirements is very high. This study aimed to analyze the microbial quality of drinking water in An-Nuriyah Islamic Boarding School Wonocolo Surabaya. This research is a descriptive study with a cross-sectional approach. This research sample is drinking water consumed by the student in An-Nuriyah Islamic Boarding School Wonocolo Surabaya, which comes from three sources: refill drinking water, boiled water, and bottled drinking water. This study showed that the Escherichia coli parameters' microbiological quality in the three drinking water sources resulted in 0/100 ml samples. Each head was obtained for the Coliform parameters. Namely, 125/100 ml refill drinking water, 2/100 ml bottled drinking water, and 100/100 ml boiled water samples. The results of this study conclude that the microbiological quality of drinking water at An-Nuriyah Islamic Boarding School Wonocolo Surabaya meets the requirements of Minister of Health Regulation Number 492/MENKES/Per/IV/2010 for Escherichia coli parameters, while Coliform parameters do not meet the criteria of Minister of Health Regulation Number 492/MENKES/Per/IV/2010.

Abstract

Back massage has many benefits for the human body system such as reducing muscle pain in the cardiovascular system, improving blood circulation and stimulating blood flow throughout the body, also stimulating cell regeneration– and its effects on the nervous system is that it can reduce the risk of disruption of sleeping quality in elderly people. This study used Quasi-Experimental with "one group of pretest post-test" design. The number of samples taken in carrying out this study was 20 people – who were chosen using the total sampling technique. The difference in the categories of insomnia before and after being given back massage therapy at Wisma Asisi Nursing Home in Sukabumi, have sleeping quality average in the pretest of as much as 20.20 and an average in the post-test of as much as 70. This shows that the average value of sleeping quality in the post-test has decreased with the value of difference of 3.2. There is an effect of back massage therapy on reducing insomnia in the elderly respondents at Wisma Asisi Nursing Home in Sukabumi, with pretest and post-test of 8.248 with p value of 0.000 (p <0.05)

Abstract

Hypertension is a risk factor of the occurrence of cardiovascular and kidney disease. Male and female have the same risk of hypertension. Intake with food material modification containing potassium and magnesium becomes one of complementary therapy to decrease blood pressure, one of them is cucumber. Cucumber is vegetable grows in all seasons and easily obtained in Indonesia. It also has potassium and magnesium content. This research used quasi-experimental research through two group pretest and posttest design approach. The research population was 100 elderly with hypertension in which there were 34 respondents who became the research samples. The sampling technique in this research was purposive sampling technique. Research result on the distribution of frequency on control group was that most of them were at the age of ≤ 65 years old (82.4%) and were mostly female (76.5%). Meanwhile, in the intervention groups, most of them were at the age of ≤ 65 years old (88.2%) and were mostly females as well (88.2%). It obtained result that there was different blood pressure on the hypertension sufferer in before and after the consumption of cucumber juice on intervention group. Wilcoxon Signed-Rank test showed p value < 0.05 which means that there was effect of cucumber juice on Elderly hypertension between the control and intervention groups

Abstract

Perineal wound occurs because of a tear in birth canal or because of an episiotomy during childbirth. Slow healing of perineal wound can increase the risk of infection, so nutritional intake is needed, especially proteins that support new cell growth. This study utilized a Quasi-Experimental method with type of posstest-only control group design. Population in this study was postpartum mothers, with a total sample of 40 people taken by total sampling technique. Results showed that mean value in control group was 6.9, while mean value in intervention group was 4.8. Additionally, Mann-Whitney U test results obtained p = 0.000. In conclusion, there is an average difference in perineal wound healing between intervention and control groups, and there is an effect of giving cork fish extract (Channa striata) to perineal wound. It is expected that researchers can share this knowledge with postpartum mothers so that they consume cork fish extract as a therapy to accelerate perineal wound healing

Abstract

Chronic illness in children has an impact on families such as social, economic, and psychological impacts. This impact can lead to negative emotions such as sadness, stress and even depression. Family readiness is the ability of the family both physically and mentally in the face of something that happens to family members. The purpose of this study to know the relation of family coping mechanism in terms of family readiness in children with chronic diseases in the Nusa Indah Room of Hospital Level II dr. Soepraoen of Malang. The research design uses correlational analytics with cross sectional approach. The population is the whole family of children with chronic disease in Nusa Indah Room, Hospital dr. Soepraoen of Malang with sample amounted to 44 respondents and taken by purposive sampling. Data collection using questioner then analyzed by chi square test. The result showed that family readness in children with chronic disease mostly (70,5%) ready, family coping mechanism mostly (61,4%) adaptive category. The result of the analysis showed that there was a significant correlation between family readness with family coping mechanism in children with chronic disease with p (sig.) 0,000<0,05. The more ready family then the more positive (adaptive) coping mechanisms that are formed by families in children with chronic diseases. Family readiness is a very important aspect to support the formation of adaptive coping mechanisms in families with children suffering from chronic diseases

Abstract

Renal Doppler resistive index (RI) and pulsatility index (PI) values have the potential to be more sensitive in detecting kidney abnormalities when compared with standard laboratory indices in HIV/AIDS patients. To our knowledge, there are no published research articles on renal Doppler indices and their correlation with laboratory indices of HIV sero-positive adults. This study aimed to assess the renal function of HIV-positive adults using RI and PI, and correlate these indices with laboratory values. A prospective cross-sectional study was conducted from July 2019 to April 2020. A purposive sampling method was used and involved 396 HIV sero-positive adults. Sampling for renal RI and PI was performed at the level of the inter-lober arteries, between the medullary pyramids. RI values above 0.70 and PI values above 1.56 are considered abnormal. Serum creatine and urea together with evidence of proteinuria were noted at the time of scanning. Forty-three (10.9%) men had abnormal RI, 32 (8.1%) had abnormal PI, five (2.5%) had abnormal creatinine, two (1%) abnormal urea and eight (4.1%) ) with proteinuria. In women, 29 (7.3%) had abnormal RI, 22 (5.6%) abnormal PI, four (2%) abnormal creatinine and urea and six (3%) had proteinuria. There was a statistically significant weak positive correlation between RI and PI and serum creatinine and urea (r > 0.2, P < 0.05). The proportion of patients with abnormal RI and PI was higher than the proportion of patients with abnormal serum urea, creatinine and proteinuria. The renal Doppler index can be used for initial assessment of renal function in HIV sero-positive adults.
