Abstract

The problem of anemia in pregnancy increases the risk of postpartum hemorrhage, which can contribute to higher maternal mortality rates (Dai, 2021). MMR is one of the global SDGs targets, which aims to reduce MMR to 70 per 100,000 live births by 2030 (Bappenas, 2021). Based on the 2019 Riskesdas results, it was shown that 48.9% of pregnant women in Indonesia experienced anemia (Batmomolin, et al., 2024). The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of green spinach juice administration on increasing hemoglobin levels in third trimester pregnant women at Clinic GM Waras Bengkulu Utara. This research used a quantitative method with a pre-experimental design, employing a one-group pre-test and post-test design. Both secondary and primary data were used, obtained from medical records and observation sheets. The research subjects were 40 pregnant women at Clinic GM Waras Bengkulu Utara, selected using a total sampling technique. Data analysis was conducted using the paired samples t-test. The results showed a difference in the mean hemoglobin levels of third trimester pregnant women before the intervention (10.363) and after the intervention (12.440). The administration of green spinach juice was found to be strongly associated with an increase in hemoglobin levels among third trimester pregnant women, with a p-value of 0.000 (< 0.005). The research site is expected to provide complementary care through the administration of green spinach juice to pregnant women as an alternative effort to prevent anemia during pregnancy, in addition to continuing the government’s program of providing Fe tablets once daily

Abstract

Abstract

Background: Adolescence is a phase of life between childhood and adulthood, from the age of 10 to 19 years. Based on the results of research conducted on 3000 women by the Archives of Internal Medicine, it was found that 90% of women experience symptoms of Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) before the menstrual phase and generally occurs in women aged 14-50 years with symptoms that vary and change in each woman from month to month. Symptoms of Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) can be different for each woman, even in the same woman the symptoms that arise can be different each menstrual cycle. Women can only experience 1 symptom of Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) or several symptoms at once. According to the theory of Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) symptoms that are often experienced by women is lower abdominal pain. Objective: To determine the effect of providing heat tech therapy on adolescents with Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS). Method: This study uses an experimental research design (one group pretest-posttest design). Results: The results of the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test showed a p-value of 0.004 <0.05, which means that there is an effect of providing heat tech therapy on adolescents with Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS). Conclusion: Heat tech therapy can be used to overcome the symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS), one of which is to relieve lower abdominal pain.

Abstract

Background: Anemia in pregnancy is a condition in which the mother has a hemoglobin level below 11 g% in the first and third trimesters or a level <10.5 g% in the second trimester. Globally, the prevalence of anemia in pregnant women is 41.8%. The prevalence of anemia in pregnant women is estimated at 48.2% in Asia, 57.1% in Africa, 24.1% in America, and 25.1% in Europe. According to data from the 2018 Basic Health Research (Riskesdas), there are 48.9%. Anemia is influenced by several factors, one of which is poor diet. A balanced diet consists of various foods in appropriate amounts and proportions to meet a person's nutritional needs. Moringa is a plant that is very easy to find in Indonesia and usually grows as a supporting plant in yards. Moringa is rich in nutrients because all parts of the Moringa plant are very beneficial for people's lives. It is used as a food and medicine. One of the most prominent contents of the Moringa plant is the antioxidants in its leaves. Another benefit is increasing hemoglobin levels in the blood. Objective: This study aims to determine the effect of oxytocin massage on increasing breast milk production in breastfeeding mothers. Methods: This study employed a quantitative design. The design used was a pre-experimental design using aone-group pretest-posttest approach with 30 respondents using a purposive sampling technique. Results: The Wilcoxon test showed that hemoglobin levels in pregnant women before and after being given Moringa leaves were p-value 0.001 (p-value <0.05). Conclusion: Therefore, it can be concluded that there was an increase in hemoglobin levels after administering tomato juice to pregnant women in the independent midwife practice of LH Tangerang Regency in 2025.

Abstract

Background: Constipation is a common complaint among pregnant women in their third trimester due to hormonal changes, uterine pressure, and decreased physical activity. The use of natural therapies such as lemon juice, honey, and chia seeds is believed to help improve intestinal peristalsis and defecation patterns. Objective: To determine the effectiveness of a combination of lemon juice, honey, and chia seeds on constipation in pregnant women in their third trimester. Methods: A quasi-experimental study with a pretest-posttest control group design was conducted on 40 pregnant women in their third trimester who experienced constipation at the N District Maternity Hospital in Bandung in 2025. The sample was divided into an intervention group (n=20) that received a combination of lemon-honey-chia seeds 250 ml/day for 7 days, and a control group (n=20) that received education on a high-fiber diet. The level of constipation was measured using the Rome IV Diagnostic Criteria and the Bristol Stool Scale. Data analysis was performed using paired and independent t-tests. Results: Before intervention, the mean constipation score was 6.2 (SD=1.1) in the intervention group and 6.1 (SD=1.2) in the control group. After intervention, the score decreased significantly in the intervention group to 3.1 (SD=0.9), while in the control group it increased to 5.4 (SD=1.0). The t-test showed a significant difference between the two groups (p=0.001). Conclusion: The combination of lemon juice, honey, and chia seeds is effective in reducing constipation in pregnant women in the third trimester.
