Abstract

Breast milk production in breastfeeding mothers typically ranges from 750 ml to 1,000 ml per day. Therefore, breastfeeding mothers need complementary care to facilitate milk production to ensure that the baby’s needs are met. One of the complementary care methods that can be used is lactation massage, as it can prevent milk duct blockages and help improve milk flow. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of lactation massage on breast milk production in breastfeeding mothers before and after the intervention. The method used is a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest design without a control group. The study sample consisted of 15 breastfeeding mothers, and the Wilcoxon statistical test was used. The results showed that there is an effect of lactation massage on increasing breast milk production after the massage intervention, with a significant increase in milk production (p-value = 0.00 < 0.05). Lactation massage can directly benefit breastfeeding mothers who have low or insufficient milk flow. Therefore, it is recommended to provide education on the effects of lactation massage on milk production in breastfeeding mothers and to offer more in-depth education on lactation massage techniques through classes or special sessions provided by healthcare professionals.

Introduction: Labor is the process of opening and thinning the cervix, as well as uterine contractions, and the fetus descending into the birth canal, causing pain in labor. Labor pain is a physiological process as many as 12%-67% of women feel worried about the pain that will be experienced during labor. Efforts to reduce labor pain are counterpressure techniques. Objectives: to determine the effectiveness of counterpressure techniques to reduce pain in the first stage of labor Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental (quasi-experimental) method with a two-Group posttest only design which was divided into two groups, namely the control group and the intervention group. The sampling technique in this study used a total sampling of 30 mothers giving birth in the first stage of the active phase and each 15 people in the control group and 15 people in the intervention group. Data were collected using observation sheets and analyzed using the Mann Withney U test. Results: The study showed that the counterpressure technique was more effective in reducing the level of pain in active phase maternity mothers as indicated by the p-value = (0.005) <0.05, meaning that there was a difference in pain scale between the intervention group and the control group. Conclusion: The counterpressure technique is a good alternative that needs to be recommended to reduce pain intensity in active phase I birth mothers.

Abstract

Background : The anxiety of pregnant women in the third trimester of pregnancy will increase as labor gets closer. Anxiety that is not controlled will have a negative impact on the mother and fetus if not addressed. This anxiety can cause premature birth, pre-eclampsia, and disruption of the birth process. This therapy produces endorphins, the production of which in the body can inhibit the activity of the central nervous system, thereby reducing the body's response to stress and anxiety Objective : : To determine the effect of benson relaxation therapy on anxiety in third trimester pregnant women at PMB M.
