Abstract

This research aims at analyzing Research and Development (R&D) for economic innovation in Vietnam, the opportunities and challenges for enhancing the partnership between public and private sector institutions and universities. In this work, adopting an analytical and descriptive approach, historical analysis, document, and comparative analysis, we assessed the existing framework for R&D in Vietnam and its contribution to the country’s economic growth. The results highlighted the fact, where Vietnam has succeeded in constructing the public R & D network, especially through governmental funding to institutes but the interaction between the public and private sectors has still a long way ahead. Cross-sectional studies between South Korea and Taiwan illustrated that public-private partnerships and university collaboration important for advancement of the innovation capacity and economic growth. The study also looks into the issues of obsolescence of equipment and technology, low private sector participation and problems of technology transfers in the global market. Thus, it is recommended that Vietnam should compliment its R&D environment by benchmarking to such models, identifying specific sectoral linkage, and increasing R&D investment in the relevant sectors. In this way, Vietnam can improve the role and efficiency of R&D with an aim to enhance productivity, and thus enhance the competitiveness and sustainable economic growth.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of agricultural modernization on economic development in Maros Regency, South Sulawesi. The research analyzes the influence of technological adoption along with farming practice improvements and training/support services toward GDP growth and agricultural employment numbers and farmers' income levels. 200 agricultural stakeholders and secondary government reports were used in a quantitative design to gather data via surveys. The research demonstrates that economic development receives notable contributions from agricultural modernization through technological adoption which proves itself as the most powerful factor that achieves positive changes in all economic indicators. No evidence suggests that agricultural support programs and farming practice enhancements create the same magnitude of positive results on GDP growth and employment as technological adoption. The results from multiple regression analysis revealed that both agricultural technology usage as well as agricultural practice enhancements produced substantial and statistically important positive effects on economic development. This study addresses a literature gap because it presents empirical findings about Maros Regency which previous research studies had neglected. The research delivers essential recommendations to policy makers who should launch enhanced agricultural development programs for achieving sustainable rural growth.

Abstract

Various methods were used in this qualitative research to understand how salt production affects South Sulawesi coastal farmers' economic sustainability in Indonesia. The paper investigates the socio-economic factors of salt farming as it studies the obstacles and prospects of small-scale salt producers in Takalar district together with Makassar district and Pangkep district. The authors conducted structured interviews with 30 salt farmers along with participant observation and focus groups to identify crucial economic determinants in salt farming such as market availability and natural changes and gender-related elements. The findings show salt farming produces substantial income which faces increasing risks from unsteady weather and insufficient utilization of modern agricultural technology. The research shows women lead a dual role in salt production because they participate in physical labor while also taking leadership positions in running this business sector. The study investigates economic repercussions pertaining to local and regional markets showing salt farming creates strong economic links throughout local social structures together with broader market systems. Research on small-scale salt production remains limited but this investigation adds important knowledge about sector support which could lead to lasting sustainability by studying neglected areas in coastal Indonesian agricultural economy investigation.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of ethical business practices on financial performance in contemporary economic management, focusing on the role of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) policies and corporate governance structures. Using a quantitative methodology, the research analyzed financial data from firms across multiple industries, employing correlation and regression analyses to determine the relationship between ethical practices and key financial indicators, including Return on Assets (ROA), Return on Equity (ROE), Earnings Per Share (EPS), and Net Profit Margin. The results indicate a statistically significant positive correlation between ESG scores and financial performance metrics (ROA: 0.412, ROE: 0.390, EPS: 0.457, Net Profit Margin: 0.431, p < 0.01), demonstrating that ethical business conduct enhances profitability. Governance structures also played a crucial role, with the governance index showing the strongest correlation with EPS (0.495, p < 0.01), highlighting the financial advantages of corporate transparency and accountability. This study contributes to the literature by addressing methodological gaps in previous research, which often lacked empirical validation of ethical-financial linkages. The findings suggest that ethical business practices are not only a compliance requirement but also a strategic driver of financial success and investor confidence. These insights have important implications for corporate leaders, policymakers, and investors, emphasizing the necessity of integrating ethical governance and ESG principles into corporate strategy. Future research should explore long-term effects and sectoral variations to deepen the understanding of ethical business impacts.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the possibility of seaweed for the production of bioplastic in the Pangkep Islands and consideration its socio-economic and environmental benefit assessments. Hailing from a qualitative paradigm, the study collected input from the relevant local stakeholder’s seaweed farmers, environmental campaigners, and government or policymakers- to ascertain the patterns of opportunity and threats. Research evidence indicate that seaweed bioplastics could further income sources, improve on the sustainability, and lower reliance on standard seaweed markets. Nevertheless, technological constraints technological constraints, socio cultural issues, and lack of government support, regulatory barriers to market entry are some disturbing factors. The study also finds that it requires a multi-stakeholder engagement model to create policies for seaweed-based biopolymers to increase the chances of success. This research adds to existing literature on the development of sustainable bioplastic solutions in developing countries and the trade-off challenges that can occur during the manufacturing and consumption process.
