Abstract

The establishment of metabolic equilibrium in the soil ecosystem the following insolation is a prerogative of soil communities. These communities comprise microorganisms of diverse species and populations. The hydrocarbon-degrading communities (i.e., hydocarbonclastics) are found in petroleum or crude oil, polluting soil ecosystems. Others, the non-petroleum degrading microbial communities are diverse in nature and occur in soil, water, and air ecosystems. In the event of oil pollution with inherent disequilibrium in the ecosystem, the prejudicial nature of the petroleum will reduce the biomass of the non-hydrocarbon degrading organisms. Consequently, there will be an insurgence of the hydrocarbon degraders to metabolize the xenobiotics and bring the affected ecosystem to a balance and equilibrium. This is the hallmark of the entire ecosystem function. For other non-petroleum degraders in an ecosystem insolted with xenobiotics except petroleum, they will consolidate in their degradative activity to bring the affected ecosystem to a balance and equilibrium.  Overall, the insolation of an ecosystem with any xenobiotics results in a disequilibrium, in which the indigenous microbial communities through their metabolic activities will bring the affected ecosystem to a balance and equilibrium.

Abstract

Mining waste reduction methods include all mining processes beginning from resource distribution until the final products in the plant. For comparing and testing possibilities of mine waste reduction, a cooperation project has been set up aiming to create a transnational network with regional networks. The activities carried out on the regional and transnational level secure better access to knowledge, state-of-the-art technologies, and good practice. The study addresses all the waste management challenges and opportunities in mining industry, giving understanding all forms of extraction of natural non-renewable resources.

Abstract

Theoretical and practical interest in salicylic acid and its derivatives has increased over the last two decades, and with it, academic study in the field has been burgeoning. Most scientometric studies have only focused on a specific property of the topic compounds. None, however, are discussed in the origination progress and prospects of SA and its derivatives. The present study makes a bibliometric review of 2010 papers published during 2000-2021 which were indexed by Scopus in the sub-discipline of salicylic and salicylates. Periodic trends in publishing, as well as prominent research sub-fields, are detected, as are citation patterns, published journal areas of focus, major research institutions, funding organizations, significant research personalities, and the extent to which they interact with one another in research networks. Used keywords indicated the exact publication timeline. Before 2010, the majority of research focused on the synthesis, structure, chemical, and physical properties of salicylic acid and its derivatives. In the past decade, scientists have dedicated significant attention to identifying the bio-properties of the investigated substances.

Abstract

This research involves a systematic process to reduce the effects of heavy metals on health and the environment through the metabolism of human hair. In this study, the by-product of the breakdown of microbial keratinase was keratin; free amino acids and partially degraded peptide/keratin were used as precipitates and adsorbents, respectively, to remove Copper (Cu), Iron (Fe), Nickel (Ni), Zinc (Zn) Cobalt (Co) and Lead (Pb) from pollution. Atomic absorption spectrophotometry is used to measure metal concentrations. Degraded human hair was an efficient but insignificant weight absorber compared to untreated human hair, achieving almost 85.81±0.0077% adsorption for chloride. Our data show that alkaline pH favors lead acetate deposited by the supernatant over neutral and acidic regions. Both treated and untreated human hair showed a significant percentage of ZnSO4 and NiCl2 biosorption, with CuSO4 showing the percentage of precipitation, the lowest percentage of biosorption. Our SEM results suggest that a technology may be required to increase the surface area of treated human hair to increase the adsorption capacity.

Abstract

The equipment for using zeolite as an adsorbent in the Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) method for oxygen concentrator is presented in this research. Worldwide, oxygen is generally utilized for a variety of chemical reactions as well as medical applications. The need for medicinal oxygen has skyrocketed in all hospitals worldwide during the COVID-19 pandemic. To minimize the amount of processing power needed and make the most use of the adsorbent capacity, the PSA process must operate efficiently. Additional details about the zeolite's role as an adsorption medium to help PSA in the synthesis of oxygen may be found in this paper.

Abstract

This study examines the mapping of research bibliometric data analysis related to resin-based brake pads. The research data was collected through the publish or perish reference manager application from the Google Scholar database. The title of the study material and abstract is used as a basis for searching for availability based on the specified keywords, namely "Resin-based Brake Pads". The search results show a total of 398 articles that are relevant and used in the mapping analysis. VOSviewer is used to complete the mapping process. The study period used as the study material was articles published in Google Scholar indexed journals from 2012 to 2021. We examined the number of published articles on resin-based brake pads and their relationship to problem areas using VOSviewer. The results showed that research on resin-based breake pads experienced an increase in research interest from 2017 to 2021. The smallest number of publications occurred in 2015 with 23 publications. There are main terms that are usually discussed and related to the research theme of resin-based brake pads, namely pad material, development and epoxy resin. This review is expected to serve as a starting point for conducting research by taking the field of study of resin-based brake pads.
