Abstract

Especially speaking in language is very important, but the factor of speaking anxiety, vocabulary limitation and little real conversation exposure are a few struggles speaking learners usually face. Abstract purpose this paper aims to conduct a systematic literature review of 20 peer-reviewed journal articles published between 2017 and 2023 on the effectiveness of online learning tools in improving English speaking skills. The effect of tools such as YouTube videos, simulation-based platforms and speech recognition software on fluency (automaticity), pronunciation, and vocabulary were considered. The data shows that YouTube can enhance vocabulary and pronunciation, simulation-based tools improve fluency by providing realistic conversational context. Tools for Speech recognition encourage self-correction in learners and therefore add engagement to learners. Challenges however include poor technical accessibility, poor teacher training therefore constrained curricular integration for the tools to be used to their optimum level. Breaking through these barriers involves investments in digital infrastructure, teacher professional development, and equity. Research in this direction should consider long-term effects, curriculum integration and the potential such state-of-the-art technologies as artificial intelligence in personalized learning.

Abstract

Writing is a critical yet challenging skill for English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners, requiring mastery of cognitive and linguistic processes. Unlike speaking or listening, writing demands structured articulation, coherence, and grammatical precision, which are compounded by cultural and linguistic differences. This paper explores the complexities of writing in EFL contexts, including learners' struggles with grammar, vocabulary, and rhetorical organization. It highlights the limitations of traditional teaching methods and identifies effective strategies such as process-based approaches, concept mapping, and collaborative learning. The transformative role of technology, particularly data-driven tools like corpora, is also examined. By addressing these challenges, this study proposes practical methodologies to enhance EFL learners' writing competence and recommends pedagogical reforms to bridge gaps in instruction. This research underscores the importance of tailored, innovative approaches in fostering learners' writing proficiency and equipping them for academic and professional success.

Abstract

This article provides an in-depth exploration of strategies for enhancing reading comprehension among students. The research examines innovative and traditional methods applied in varied educational contexts, highlighting approaches like Question-Answer Relationship (QAR), game-based learning, and cooperative techniques. Synthesizing findings from prior studies, the article underscores the pivotal role of emotional factors such as reading anxiety, motivation, and their interplay with comprehension. Moreover, the analysis considers the impact of technological advancements and the integration of flipped classrooms in fostering inferential and critical reading skills. Key findings reveal the importance of tailored interventions, equitable access to resources, and the incorporation of cohesion-focused instruction to address diverse learning needs. The paper concludes with practical recommendations for educators and a call for longitudinal studies to assess the sustainability and adaptability of these strategies in global contexts.

Abstract

The aim of this study is on contextualized, gamified, and technology-supported approaches to vocabulary learning in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) situation. Contextualized learning greatly improves understanding and retention by placing terminology in relevant contexts. Quizlet and other gamified tools increase vocabulary acquisition and student motivation, while multimedia resources like movies with subtitles enhance receptive vocabulary and cultural knowledge. According to quantitative pre- and post-test results and qualitative data from interviews conducted using a mixed-methods approach, cooperative and culturally sensitive approaches promote participation and useful language usage. Blended approaches that combined conventional and digital methods proven to be quite successful in spite of obstacles including disparities in digital literacy and unequal access to technology. These results demonstrate how flexible instructional approaches are necessary to meet the demands of a wide range of students. The study results to the conclusion that EFL vocabulary training may be revolutionized by integrating contextualized, interactive, and technology-enhanced approaches. To guarantee inclusive education for all students, recommendations include removing obstacles to technology access and conducting further research on scalable approaches.

Abstract

This study explores the potential of the TikTok application as an educational tool to improve English speaking skills among EFL (English as a Foreign Language) students. TikTok’s immense popularity among youth, combined with its short video format and creative features, provides an engaging platform for interactive learning. The research employed a mixed-methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative techniques to assess the impact of TikTok on speaking proficiency, vocabulary acquisition, fluency, pronunciation, and overall learning motivation. Fifty EFL students participated in the study, which involved pre-tests, post-tests, video assignments, and surveys. Results indicated a significant improvement in speaking skills, with students demonstrating enhanced vocabulary, better pronunciation, and increased confidence in communication. Additionally, the app’s entertaining and user-friendly nature helped reduce language anxiety and foster creativity. The findings underscore TikTok’s potential as a supplementary tool in language education, particularly for fostering engagement and motivation in learning environments. Despite some challenges, such as content curation and managing screen time, TikTok offers a promising avenue for modernizing language instruction and enhancing learner outcomes.
