Abstract

This study aims to investigate the role of educators in the implementation of a counseling guidance program focused on managing students' disciplinary behavior. The focus of the study involves educators' understanding of the program, the strategies they apply in managing students' behavior, and their perception of the effectiveness of the counseling guidance program. The research method involved qualitative and quantitative data collection through questionnaires, interviews, and observations. Respondents involved educators from different levels of education. Data analysis was conducted using a mixed approach, integrating qualitative and quantitative findings to provide a holistic understanding. The findings showed that most educators had a good understanding of the counseling guidance program and recognized its important role in managing students' disciplinary behavior. The most commonly used strategies included the application of rewards and punishments, but there were variations in approaches, with some educators emphasizing preventive approaches and positive coaching. Perceptions of the program's effectiveness varied, but the majority of respondents saw it as a valuable tool in improving student discipline. The main challenges educators faced involved a lack of time to provide individualized attention to students and variations in parental support. Recommendations for improvement involve additional training for educators, increased parental involvement, and continuous evaluation of the program for better adjustment. The results of this study can contribute to the development of more effective educational policies and practices in managing students' disciplinary behavior.

Abstract

The primary issue with this study is that students are not motivated to learn, as evidenced by their poor attendance records, low engagement in class, scores that fall short of the KKM, and disregard for remediation. The goal of the study is to use symbolic modeling strategies in a group guidance context to raise students' motivation for learning. The Guidance and Counseling Action Research (PTBK) research method was employed in this study, which involved seven students who had low category motivation issues during their online learning experiences. The research subjects who received group guidance were seven students from class VIII of SMPN 15 Palu. The findings revealed a difference as well as an increase in group leader and student activity, group leader activity, and the pretest-posttest averages differed. Activity increased to the good category by 25.5, moving it out of the moderate category. There was a 6.42 difference in the average score between the pretest and posttest, and the group leader's or teacher's activity in providing services saw a score increase of 27.3 from the good enough to good category. The state of this activity increase indicates that students' motivation for online learning is effectively increased through the use of the symbolic modeling technique.

Abstract

Character education was one of the focuses in the system of national education. Therefore, educators must not neglect this. A school counselor, as one of the educators, has to play a role in character education. Referring to guidance and counseling responsibilities in relation to students' personal, social, academic, and career aspects, a school counselor must not escape from the main duties. Considering that character education is the responsibility of all parties, a school counselor can, independently and in collaboration with all school components, play a role in character education. Individually, a school counselor can provide services, such as individual services, individual planning services, and responsive services. In collaboration with other parties, a school counselor can create a synergy in character education programs.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of Augmented Reality (AR)-based learning media in increasing students' interest and understanding of plant anatomy material. The method used is a quasi-experiment with a pretest-posttest design. This study involved grade III students in one of the elementary schools in MI NW Keruak. The results showed that the use of AR-based learning media significantly increased students' interest which was reflected in increased enthusiasm, engagement in discussions, and frequency of asking questions during learning. In addition, test results show a significant improvement in students' understanding of plant anatomical concepts, such as the structure and function of plant organs. The use of interactive 3D models allows students to more easily understand abstract material. Thus, the application of AR technology in learning can be an effective alternative to improve the quality of science learning, especially in materials that require strong visual understanding. This research contributes to the development of more innovative and contextual learning methods, as well as offering insights into the use of technology in education.
