Abstract

Anemia in pregnancy is a global health problem affecting approximately 41.8% of pregnant women worldwide. Iron supplementation is the main program for anemia prevention, but adherence remains low. The study used a cross-sectional design with consecutive sampling technique on 34 third trimester pregnant women at [location] Health Center. Data were collected using an iron supplementation adherence questionnaire and hemoglobin level examination. Data analysis used Chi-Square test with significance level p<0.05. The results showed that 62.5% of respondents were non-adherent to iron supplementation and 58.3% had anemia. There was a significant relationship between adherence to iron supplementation and the incidence of anemia (p=0.001; OR=4.523). Non-adherent pregnant women had 4.5 times greater risk of anemia compared to adherent ones. This study concludes that adherence to iron supplementation plays an important role in preventing anemia in third trimester pregnant women.

Abstract

The research method employed a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. The research population consisted of 70 premenopausal women aged 40-49 years, with samples collected using accidental sampling based on inclusion criteria. Data were gathered through demographic questionnaires, premenopausal knowledge assessments, and anxiety level measurements using the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS) before and after the counseling intervention. Data analysis was conducted using univariate and bivariate analysis with the Chi-Square test. Results from 34 respondents showed that most respondents had insufficient knowledge (67.6%) and nearly half experienced severe anxiety (47.1%). Bivariate analysis showed a significant correlation between knowledge levels and anxiety (p=0.011). Counseling using flipchart media was effective in increasing knowledge (p=0.013). In conclusion, there is a significant correlation between knowledge and anxiety levels among premenopausal women, and premenopausal reproductive health counseling flipcharts are effective in increasing knowledge and reducing the levels of anxiety experienced during this transition period.

Abstract

Perineal lacerations occur in up to 75% of women undergoing vaginal delivery in Indonesia and may increase the risk of infection if not properly managed. This study aimed to determine the effect of boiled red betel leaf (Piper crocatum) decoction on perineal wound healing in postpartum women. A quasi-experimental study with a two-group posttest-only design was conducted among 37 postpartum women with second-degree perineal lacerations on days 1–6 postpartum at the Tunggakjati Community Health Center, Karawang Regency, in 2025. Participants were assigned to an intervention group receiving red betel leaf decoction a control group using plain water. The intervention group showed a higher proportion of good healing outcomes (94.7%) compared to the control group (61%), with a significant association between treatment and healing (p < 0.05). Boiled red betel leaf decoction is effective as a complementary, non-pharmacological approach for postpartum perineal wound care

Abstract

Compliance with partograph documentation and AMTSL varies across childbirth services. Objective: To map determinants influencing compliance. Methods: A PRISMA-ScR/JBI scoping review searched PubMed, Scopus, ProQuest, and DOAJ and checked reference lists. Results: Of 630 records, 142 duplicates were removed; 76 full texts were assessed; and 22 studies were included (14 quantitative, 5 qualitative, 3 mixed-methods). Determinants clustered into five domains: provider factors (knowledge, skills, fatigue), organizational factors (supportive supervision, staffing, audit-feedback), system/policy factors (SOP clarity, guideline dissemination), resources/logistics (forms, monitoring equipment, uterotonics), and workflow/documentation processes (time constraints, documentation burden, duplication). Conclusion: Improving compliance requires strengthening both provider competence and enabling systems, alongside standardized compliance indicators.

Abstract

Teenage girls are at risk of reproductive health problems due to hormonal changes. This makes teenage girls vulnerable to various diseases, including breast cancer. Therefore, adolescents need to make an effort to detect breast cancer early with regular breast self-examination (BSE). To improve knowledge and skills related to SADARI, an audio-visual media education media 'AYO SADARI' is needed. This study aimed to determine the effect of audio-visual educational media 'AYO SADARI' on the knowledge and skills of adolescent girls in performing BSE

Abstract

Functional constipation and irregular bowel habits in preschool children are often linked to low dietary fiber intake and are difficult to manage with practical, family-friendly strategies. This study evaluated a locally available, child-acceptable fiber source—purple sweet potato—as a feasible alternative to commercial fiber supplements. We used a quasi-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design over 14 days among 36 preschool children. Primary outcomes were bowel movement frequency, stool consistency, and constipation symptom score. Bowel movement frequency increased from 4.0±1.6 to 5.6±1.7 times/week (Δ=+1.6; p<0.001), stool consistency improved from 2.5±0.5 to 3.1±0.6 (Δ=+0.6; p<0.001), and constipation symptoms decreased from 3.2±1.1 to 1.9±1.2 (Δ=−1.3; p<0.001), with large effect sizes across outcomes. In conclusion, a two-week purple sweet potato–based fiber intervention was associated with meaningful improvements in bowel regularity, stool quality, and constipation-related symptoms. Daily monitoring supports its practical use in community and early childhood settings.

Abstract

Early menarche increases the risk of breast cancer, obesity, cardiovascular disease, metabolic disorders, and psychological problems. This study aimed to analyze the effect of interactive digital storytelling on menarche understanding among early adolescent girls at MI Al Irsyad, Kediri City. Using a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design, 61 of 70 eligible students were selected by purposive sampling. Before the intervention, most respondents had poor understanding of menarche (57.4%, n = 35). After the intervention, almost all had good understanding (93.4%, n = 57). Cross-tabulation showed that many girls moved from poor to good categories, with 31 respondents (50.8%) improving from poor to good understanding. Paired t-test analysis showed a significant effect (p = 0.000 < 0.05), indicating that interactive digital storytelling effectively improved menarche understanding. This approach combines engaging narratives with interactive technology, providing a meaningful and non-intimidating learning experience for adolescents.
