Abstract

The large number of smartphone variations available on the market makes it difficult for users to determine the choice that best suits their needs and preferences. The approach used in the study is descriptive, with data collection methods through literature studies. The system design is visualized using the Unified Modeling Language (UML) and is planned to be implemented with PHP, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and a MySQL database. The study aims to design a web-based decision support system (DSS) to select a smartphone using the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method. The criteria processed in the DSS that were built were 7 consist of namely price, brand, processor, RAM, internal memory capacity, battery life, and main camera resolution. The system developed has features like user registration, data management, user login, weight preference setting, alternative assessment, and recommendations for the best types of smartphones. The results of data processing were carried out on 10 smartphone brands whose market share in Indonesia in the period 2020 to 2025, so that the number of smartphone units processed could be 100 smartphone units. The developed SPK can provide accurate recommendations and make it easier for users to choose a smartphone that suits their needs and preferences.

Abstract

Determining the best employee is an essential process in human resource management because it affects work motivation, productivity, and performance appraisal rewards. Manual evaluation often leads to subjectivity and inaccuracies in decision-making. To address this issue, this study develops a web-based Decision Support System (DSS) using the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method to determine the best employee at Citra Company, Bogor. The evaluation criteria consist of four aspects: performance (C1), experience (C2), education (C3), and attendance (C4), with respective weights of 0.30, 0.25, 0.25, and 0.20. The system was designed using Unified Modeling Language (UML) and implemented as a web-based application with an interactive user interface.The results of the TOPSIS calculation indicate that employee A1 (Budi) achieved the highest preference score of 0.7273, thus being selected as the best employee. The ranking results are visualized through a bar chart, allowing users to interpret the decision outcomes quickly and objectively. Based on the testing results, the developed system successfully reduces subjectivity, accelerates the evaluation process, and provides outcomes consistent with actual performance conditions. Therefore, the implementation of the TOPSIS method is proven to be effective in supporting decision-making for determining the best employee in an objective and transparent manner.

Abstract

In today's digital era, effective inventory management is essential to ensure smooth business operations and meet customer demands. The system is designed to facilitate stock monitoring, real-time inventory updates, allowing store owners to manage inventory more efficiently. This study aims to design an Android-based inventory management information system for Toko Bintang Jaya in Simpang Hilir District. The methods used in this study include object-oriented analysis and design techniques, with system modeling using Unified Modeling Language (UML). The system analysis process involves mapping user needs, designing workflow diagrams, and identifying features that will be implemented in the system. The application was developed using android studio as the main text editor, with the Java programming language. For database management, use Firebase Realtime Database, which allows the system to store and access data in real-time. In addition, this system also uses the concept of NoSQL for more flexible and efficient data management in Android-based applications. The results of this study are expected to increase efficiency and accuracy in inventory management, minimize stock recording errors, and improve the quality of service to customers. With the implementation of this system, inventory management will become faster and more reliable, thereby reducing the risk of excess or shortage of stock. Overall, this research contributes to the development of information technology in the retail sector and supports businesses in optimizing inventory management processes.

Abstract

The rapid development of fitness centers has prompted the need for efficient administrative systems. Dadung Gym in Pontianak faces challenges in managing member data and transactions due to reliance on traditional administrative methods. This study aims to design a mobile-based information system to reduce data processing errors, enhance service quality, and support strategic decision-making. Using an object-oriented approach with UML modeling, the system is developed with Flutter for the application framework, Firebaseas the database, and Visual Studio Code as the development tool. The new system automates data recording and offers features such as membership management, GPS-based attendance, and integrated reporting. Implementation of this mobile-based system is expected to improve service quality, simplify administrative processes, and provide a foundation for future business development at Dadung Gym Pontianak.

Abstract

Toko Herik is a business engaged in the sale of daily necessities located in Entikong District, Sanggau Regency, West Kalimantan Province. In its operational activities, Toko Herik still uses manual methods for recording inventory and sales, such as bookkeeping and Microsoft Excel. These methods often lead to various issues, including data recording errors, delays in report generation, and difficulties in monitoring stock in real-time. This study aims to identify the existing problems and design an information system that can assist in managing inventory and sales more effectively and efficiently. The research method used is descriptive, which involves describing and analyzing the current system conditions by collecting data such as product data, sales data, stock data, and supplier data. The analysis of this data is used to design an information system that meets the operational needs of Toko Herik. As a solution, a web-based inventory and sales information system is designed. This system is developed using technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL, with Bootstrap used to create a responsive user interface. The main features of the system include product data management, sales transaction recording, stock management, and the generation of inventory and sales reports. With the implementation of this information system, Toko Herik is expected to manage its inventory and sales activities more quickly, accurately, and in a more organized manner, thereby increasing operational efficiency and supporting better decision-making.

Abstract

The development of human-computer interaction technology continues to grow, especially in the context of hand gesture recognition for device control applications. One interesting application is designing a virtual mouse system based on hand gesture recognition using a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). This research was conducted to overcome the limitations of conventional input devices and utilize modern technology to create a more sophisticated and adaptive control system. This research focuses on developing a system that is able to identify and interpret hand gestures accurately in a real-time environment. The proposed system utilizes an RGB camera to capture images of the user's hand gestures, which are then processed by a CNN that has been pre-trained to recognize different gestures. Experiments were carried out using a gesture dataset that included variations in pose and hand orientation to evaluate the system's performance in recognizing gestures with a sufficient level of accuracy. The research results show that the system can successfully control the movement of the cursor on the computer screen with high accuracy, validating the potential practical application of this technology in improving the user experience in computer interactions. The implication of this research is a contribution to the development of more intuitive and effective user interfaces through the integration of hand gesture technology in virtual mouse applications.

Abstract

Diseases in water apple plants can significantly reduce the quality and quantity of the harvest, thus an accurate early classification system is needed. This research aims to develop an automatic classification system to assist in the early diagnosis of diseases in water apple plants. This system uses a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model with the MobileNetV2 architecture optimized through fine-tuning techniques. The dataset was obtained from Kaggle, Roboflow, and direct data collection, with a distribution of 80 percent training data, 10 percent validation data, and 10 percent testing data. The model was trained to recognize nine different conditions from images of leaves and fruits, then integrated into a web application. Testing results showed very good performance, with a final accuracy of 94 percent and a balanced F1-Score of 93 percent on unseen test data. However, the model faces challenges in distinguishing diseases with high visual similarity, especially in the class of leaves with brown spots. Overall, this research successfully produced an effective and accurate classification system. The developed application has high practical potential as an early diagnosis aid to improve plant health management and reduce the potential for crop loss.

Abstract

Drying clothes plays an important role in everyday life, if there is a sudden change in the weather, then the activity of drying clothes which is usually done outdoors manually becomes less effective when it suddenly rains. To overcome this problem, the use of internet of things (IoT) technology can provide convenience in controlling clothes drying. This study uses the Use Case Diagram (UML), Activity Diagram, and Sequence Diagram analysis techniques to design and model the system, for the data collection method a literature study was carried out in the form of books related to the research, while for programming the system prototype using software in the form of Arduino IDE and for making the clothes drying system control software was made using Kodular. This study produced a prototype of an automatic clothes drying system that can take out and put in clothes according to the selected mode and an android application that can be used to control the prototype of the automatic clothes drying system, for manual mode the clothes drying is controlled using the in and out buttons on the control application to control the clothes drying, for auto mode where the clothes will go in and out by itself according to the light intensity received on the ldr sensor and the water condition value on the raindrop sensor board. The conclusion obtained from this study is that the prototype clothesline system can automatically remove and insert clotheslines according to the selected mode.

Abstract

The rising threat of crimes, such as theft, necessitates a home security system capable of delivering rapid and accurate alerts. This research aims to develop an integrated and responsive Internet of Things (IoT)-based home security system. The method used involves designing a prototype that utilizes an ESP32-CAM module as the central controller, supported by a Passive Infrared (PIR) sensor for motion detection and an MC-38 magnetic sensor for door access detection. The research results show that the developed system successfully integrates all components. When a sensor detects suspicious activity, the system is capable of automatically capturing visual evidence and sending real-time notifications to the homeowner's mobile device via a WiFi network. In conclusion, this system offers a practical, efficient, and affordable security solution. The integration of multiple sensors with real-time visual notifications is proven to enhance vigilance and provide better protection against potential threats in residential environments.
