Abstract

The development of digital technology encourages the birth of new innovations in the field of fashion design, one of which is through the use of Quick Response (QR) Code as an information medium and visual elements. This innovation not only serves as a means of accessing information, but also has the potential to enrich user experience, and innovative value in fashion products. This study aims to analyze the perception of Fashion Designers students towards the innovation of implementing QR Code in Argenta Nala fashion design, by reviewing the aspects of ease of use, readability, completeness of information, user experience, and clarity of appearance. The study uses a quantitative approach with a percentage descriptive method. Data was collected through the distribution of a closed questionnaire based on the Likert scale to Fashion Designers students who had taken the Tailoring course as research respondents by calculating the percentage of data to find out the respondents' perception tendencies. The results of the study show that the application of QR Code in Argenta Nala fashion design received positive perceptions from students, with a good to very good rating category on all indicators assessed with an average percentage of 92%. QR Codes are considered easy to use, easy to scan, able to present clear information, and provide an experience to users without overriding fashion aesthetics. This study concludes that QR Code has great potential to be developed into an effective information and product recognition medium in the development of technology-based designs that are functional and user experience-oriented, especially in the context of Fashion Design.

Abstract

The need for design innovation in the environmentally friendly craft industry, especially in non-textile media, has so far been minimally explored in academic literature and commercial practice. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the aesthetic and technical quality of the results of the application of ecoprint using teak leaves (Tectona grandis) on plastic tumblers through a steaming technique. This study uses an experimental method with a qualitative and quantitative descriptive approach through organoleptic tests involving 20 trained panelists with a Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design. The independent variables in this study include three classifications of teak leaf age, namely shoots, young leaves, and old leaves, to determine which provides the most optimal pigmentation results and motif sharpness. The assessment instrument includes six main indicators: motif silhouette, fiber and texture, cleanliness of fold lines, color quality, shape harmony, and harmony of pattern arrangement. The results of statistical analysis show that the highest average score is obtained in the aspect of silhouette line clarity (item 1A) of 4.85, while the aspect of evenness and color suitability (item 4C) recorded the lowest score of 1.90. The Friedman Test results show an Asymp. Sig. value of 0.000 < 0.05, which proves that there is a significant difference in quality between the three leaf classifications. The research findings reveal that teak leaf buds provide the best aesthetic quality due to the high anthocyanin concentration and the flexibility of the leaf tissue that is able to adhere perfectly to the cylindrical geometry of the tumbler. In conclusion, the integration of ecoprint on the tumbler requires a precise coating and alum mordant fixation process to overcome the absorption constraints of non-textile media, while providing economic and ecological added value to national craft products.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the feasibility of ready-to-wear clothing with bamboo tree ideas through the application of woven techniques as the main element of design. The study used a descriptive quantitative method with assessment by expert panelists and trained panelists. The research instrument included six assessment indicators, namely design, size, sewing technique, aesthetics, fashion performance, and specialty. The validity of the instrument was tested using the Aiken's V index and the reliability using the Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC). Data analysis was carried out through the calculation of the percentage of the eligibility level. The results of the study showed that fashion obtained an average eligibility percentage of 89.71% with the very feasible category. The assessment of expert panelists was 89.33% and trained panelists were 90.09%, both of which were in the very feasible category. These results show that the application of weaving techniques in ready-to-wear clothing is able to provide unique aesthetic value while fulfilling the aspects of construction, comfort, and the function of fashion as a ready-to-wear product.

Abstract

Research on fashion merchandising has grown in recent decades, yet systematic mapping of this field remains limited compared to other fashion-related domains. This study examines global research trends, intellectual structure, and thematic evolution in fashion merchandising through a bibliometric review. Data were collected from the Scopus database using the keyword “fashion merchandising” in the TITLE-ABS-KEY fields, yielding 337 publications published between 2006 and 2026. Bibliometric analysis was conducted using VOSviewer to identify publication trends, leading countries and institutions, influential journals and authors, and dominant research themes. The findings reveal a strong geographical concentration of research output in developed countries, particularly the United States and China, while contributions from developing economies remain limited. Thematic analysis highlights growing attention to retail strategy, consumer behavior, entrepreneurship, sustainability, and fashion education, indicating opportunities for more context-specific future research.

Abstract

Fashion illustration constitutes a significant component of both fashion scholarship and professional practice; however, the global structure and development of research in this field have not yet been systematically mapped. This study aims to analyze publication growth patterns, thematic structures, and evolving research directions in fashion illustration based on Scopus-indexed journal articles published between 2015 and 2025. Adopting a bibliometric research design, the study employs publication performance analysis and keyword co-occurrence mapping using VOSviewer. The findings reveal a steady increase in publication output over the past decade, indicating a growing academic recognition of fashion illustration as a distinct research domain. The keyword co-occurrence network highlights strong thematic associations with visual studies, historical inquiry, and cultural analysis, while linkages to fashion industry practices, sustainability, design technology, and design education remain comparatively underdeveloped. These results suggest that fashion illustration is still predominantly conceptualized as a medium of visual representation, while also revealing significant potential for its transformation into a more integrative and interdisciplinary field that can meaningfully contribute to design education and contemporary creative industries.
