Abstract

The research conducted aims to identify hazard risks in receiving activities at the PT XYZ Warehouse. Data collection was carried out through field observations and interviews. Implemented using the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method in analyzing potential risks and hazards to obtain a Risk Priority Number (RPN) value as a risk control priority. The results of the study obtained 10 potential hazards with 11 risks that can cause work accidents. The highest RPN was obtained in the process of physical inspection of work goods with the potential hazard of using cutting tools. The RPN value obtained was 32. Potential hazards can be avoided by controlling the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), monitoring, and increasing self-awareness that occupational safety and health are important.

Abstract

Student activeness in organizations aims to develop and apply the experience gained in life. The individual's internal strength is to provide enthusiasm for learning activities. The family environment includes all interactions, emotional support, and dynamics between family members that affect child development. This study uses quantitative analysis methods. This study aimed to determine the effect of organizational activities, learning motivation, and family environment on the learning achievement of vocational college students in Batam City. From the test results obtained a significance level of 0.000 <0.05, then H4 is accepted, it can be concluded that simultaneously the variables of organizational activities (X1), learning motivation (X2), and family environment (X3) have a simultaneous effect on the learning achievement of vocational college students in Batam City.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze quality and risk management related to product defects in dry cakes produced by Bakers King. The research was conducted through a three-month survey (February–April 2022), covering a total production of 10,646 units, with 564 defective products identified. The three main types of defects were overflow (54.4%), burnt (23%), and crumbled (22.5%). Analytical methods used in this study included a P-chart for statistical quality control, a fishbone diagram to identify root causes, and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) to evaluate potential risks in the production process. The FMEA results indicated that the highest risks stemmed from inconsistent recipe use (RPN 240) and data recording errors (RPN 224). Proposed mitigation strategies included regular staff training, digitalization of data recording, implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs), and regular equipment maintenance. Meanwhile, risk transfer strategies were carried out through quality contracts with suppliers and product insurance. This study recommends a comprehensive improvement in quality management systems to reduce product defects and enhance customer satisfaction.

Abstract

Warehousing plays a critical role in supporting manufacturing and supply chain operations by ensuring efficient storage, accessibility, and distribution of materials and finished goods. An effective warehouse layout directly influences operational performance, reducing handling time and optimizing space utilization. This study focuses on designing an optimized warehouse layout for PT. ABC. The research employs a combination of interviews and direct observations as primary data collection methods, complemented by secondary data obtained through literature review. The improvement approach integrates the Dedicated Storage system and the 5S methodology to enhance organization, reduce waste, and maintain workplace discipline. Additionally, FlexSim software was utilized to develop two- and three-dimensional models, allowing for visualization and simulation of the proposed layout. Results indicate that the new design improves efficiency by positioning high-turnover items closer to input/output points, reducing travel distance, and increasing throughput. Furthermore, recommendations for material handling equipment and inventory management strategies, such as Reorder Point (ROP), Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), and Safety Stock (SS), are provided to support sustainable operations. This study highlights the importance of systematic warehouse design as a key driver for operational excellence in the manufacturing sector.

Abstract

This study focuses on improving warehouse management for Toko Kharisma, a Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) located in Batam City, which sells various school supplies. The initial assessment revealed inefficiencies in warehouse utilization, including disorganized storage, lack of material handling equipment, and manual processes that hinder operational efficiency. To address these issues, the proposed solutions include transitioning from folding storage to box storage, optimizing warehouse layout, implementing a systematic labeling system, and introducing material handling tools such as hand trolleys. Space requirements were calculated based on inventory volume and throughput to ensure effective design. The implementation plan also includes considerations for safety, accessibility, and workflow optimization. The expected outcomes of these improvements are enhanced inventory control, faster picking processes, reduced errors, and improved productivity. By adopting these strategies, Toko Kharisma can achieve better space utilization, operational efficiency, and sustainable business growth in a competitive retail environment.
