Abstract

Christian education is one of the mandates that must be implemented by the church. The existence of a church phenomenon, that focuses on pastoral care has the potential to ignore the duties and roles of an educator. Likewise, an educator who focuses on the intellectual aspect has the potential to neglect his duty as a shepherd for his students. So there needs to be a balance in carrying out the duties of education and the function of shepherding. This paper notes the practical principles that a Christian educator should have. This paper attempts to provide a topical interpretation of education from the Bible and to extract opinions from Christian education experts. Thus, a Christian teacher must have spiritual, moral, intellectual and practical skills in an effort to build a spiritually mature Christian generation.

Abstract

The view of human structure influences actions living the Christian life. One theological view of the human structure is a dichotomy. This view recognizes that humans consist of a physical body and a soul as an immaterial element. This study describes the impact of the dichotomous view on the behavior of believers in responding to Bible truth. This study presents the process of exegesis of the book of Genesis 2:7 and extracts from the thoughts of scholars.

Abstract

The maturity of the Christian faith is shown through faithfulness in faith and perseverance in following the teachings of the Bible. The letter to the Hebrews is one of the letters that anticipates the potential apostasy of the Jewish Christians. Some commentators misunderstand Hebrew’s letter theology through inadequate interpretation. The discussion of the concept of apostasy has influenced the interpreters in concluding his theory. The concept of the unity of faith and perseverance in the Christian faith is rarely discussed by observers of the Hebrews. This paper describes how true Christian faith is always related to perseverance in the Christian faith. In this way, the debate about the concept of apostasy in Hebrews can be avoided. Through the exposition of Hebrews 12:1-3, it has been concluded that perfect faith is always followed by perseverance in faith.

Abstract

This study aims to find Paul's biblical solutions to the problems of the Corinthians in 1 Corinthians 10:1-33. The Corinthians has faced the domination of Greco-Roman religions, that affected their Christians faith. This study tries to approach the text by using a general interpretation approach, followed by an epistolary interpretation approach. A narrative parallelism approach as a literary device is used to conclude the meaning of 1 Corinthians 10:1-33. Paul's use of parallelism in 1 Corinthians 10:1-33 renders principles of the Christian faith in several points. First, fellowship with God will not be managed only through participation in the Baptism sacrament and Eucharist sacramen without a commitment to live holy before Him. Second, Christian freedom is not based on legal knowledge, but on how that legal knowledge can help to grow other people's faith and results to their salvation. Third, there is a need for discipline for believers in sustaining a commitment to communion with God. For communion can never take place without a commitment to God.

Abstract

Injil Markus merupakan injil terpendek dari kedua injil sinoptik lainnya. Hal itu bukan berarti Injil Markus tidak valid dalam memaparkan sejarah tentang Yesus. Meskipun injil terpendek, narasi yang dicatatkan memberikan gambaran yang kuat tentang pribadi Yesus Kristus sebagai mesias yang dijanjikan Allah. Topik yang dibangun dalam narasi Injil Markus membuktikan nilai-nilai keilahian Yesus sebagai Mesias yang ideal.
