Abstract

For residents of Denpasar City living in residential or settlement areas, improving the performance of neighborhood roads is essential, as these roads serve as the primary access supporting daily mobility. West Denpasar is the most densely populated district in Denpasar City and contains a large proportion of slum settlement areas. This study aims to analyze community perceptions regarding efforts to improve the performance of neighborhood roads. The study involves four independent variables with 20 indicators. Perception data were collected through questionnaires distributed in West Denpasar District, with a total of 255 valid responses obtained. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results indicate that all independent variables have a positive and significant effect on neighborhood road performance, with the regression model expressed as Y = 1.114 + 0.169X₁ + 0.446X₂ + 0.334X₃ + 0.371X₄. Based on the regression coefficients, improvement of road supporting facilities (X₂) has the greatest influence, followed by traffic management (X₄), pavement improvement (X₃), and geometric road improvement (X₁). The Adjusted R² value of 94.9% indicates that the independent variables collectively have a very strong influence on neighborhood road performance.

Abstract

Industrial activities, starting from the initial activity, namely the process of procuring raw materials, to the distribution of finished goods (fine goods), require transportation to move products from their place of origin to their destination. Not only for the products to be produced but also transportation activities support worker mobility which is the main factor in industrial activities. Therefore, it can be said that transportation itself is an integral part of the industrial world. In the industrial world, the term logistics is known. Logistics is an integrated system that coordinates all processes within an organization or company in preparing and delivering products or goods to consumers. In other words, all processes in an industry are logistics activities. According to the World Bank's 2023 Logistics Performance Index (LPI), Indonesia ranked 59th out of 140 countries, with a Logistics Performance Index (LPI) score of 3.0. This is far below Singapore, which holds the top spot with an LPI score of 4.3. Logistics transportation permitted to operate in Indonesia, especially land transportation modes, range from small vehicles such as pick-ups, single axle trucks, CDC trucks, tronton trucks, trintin trucks, trinton trucks to container trucks that can be adjusted to the needs of the industrial products to be transported or the distance to be traveled. There are separate rules that must be followed by logistics transportation vehicles in Indonesia, for example, rules regarding permitted vehicle traffic hours, the number and weight of permitted loads, the types of vehicles allowed to pass through a road section and so on.

Abstract

The growth of economic activity and population density in Denpasar City has a direct impact on the increasing need for parking space, especially in the city center area such as Jalan Sulawesi. This study aims to analyze the characteristics of roadside parking, evaluate the performance of the road section due to the presence of such parking, and understand public perceptions of the effectiveness of parking in supporting the smooth flow of activities in the area. The method used is a quantitative descriptive approach with primary data collection through parking surveys and public perception questionnaires, as well as secondary data from related agencies. The road performance analysis was conducted based on the 1997 Indonesian Road Capacity Manual (MKJI). The results show that the characteristics of parking on Jalan Sulawesi Denpasar with the highest parking volume during 16 hours of observation are motorcycles with 222 vehicles (an average of 14 vehicles/hour) and cars with 198 vehicles (an average of 12 vehicles/hour). The performance of Jalan Sulawesi Denpasar due to roadside parking has a significant impact on decreasing road performance, characterized by an increase in the degree of saturation and a decrease in vehicle speed. Public perception shows that although roadside parking is considered practical, most respondents are aware of its negative impact on traffic flow. This study recommends more structured parking management and the development of alternative parking facilities to improve traffic efficiency in the central area of ​​Denpasar.

Abstract

The construction sector plays a crucial role in supporting infrastructure development and regional economic growth, making project cost planning and control crucial. One of the documents used by contractors for cost control is the Implementation Budget Plan (RAP), which is prepared based on actual field conditions and actual material prices. However, in practice, discrepancies often occur between the RAP and actual costs due to material price fluctuations, which are influenced by economic factors, distribution, and field conditions. This study aims to evaluate the ratio of the RAP to actual implementation costs and analyze the effect of material price fluctuations on project cost changes for the construction of the third-floor building (15 RKB and stairs) at Panjer 3 Elementary School, Denpasar City. The research method used is descriptive quantitative with a comparative approach and simple linear regression analysis. The data used include the initial RAP, the RAP after fluctuations, and the actual project implementation costs, obtained from project documents and a field material price survey. The results of the study indicate a 4.657% increase in costs, with the initial RAP of Rp933,208,020.60 increasing to Rp978,792,243.89, a difference of Rp45,584,223.29. Therefore, adaptive cost control, regular unit price updates, and sound risk management are required to minimize the impact of fluctuations in project implementation.

Abstract

The Tukad Mati River Basin (DAS) is a crucial hydrological system in urban Bali, particularly in the Kuta area and its surroundings. This river serves as the main urban drainage channel and controls rainwater runoff. However, in recent years, this area has frequently experienced inundation and flooding due to various factors such as sedimentation, land use changes, and limited drainage system capacity. This research examines the characteristics of the Tukad Mati watershed, drainage system issues, and alternative solutions based on civil engineering and hydrological approaches.

Abstract

The use of flat columns in low-rise reinforced concrete buildings is increasingly found in Bali, mainly due to architectural aesthetic considerations. Although beneficial for architectural layout, flat columns in high seismic regions require careful evaluation because they may affect lateral stiffness, flexural capacity, ductility, stress concentration, and plastic hinge formation. This study evaluates the effect of flat columns on the seismic response of low-rise reinforced concrete buildings using finite element-based numerical simulation. The analyzed model is a three-story reinforced concrete moment-resisting frame with column variations of 300 mm × 300 mm, 200 mm × 450 mm, 150 mm × 500 mm, and 120 mm × 600 mm. Gravity loads refer to SNI 1727:2020, while seismic response spectrum analysis refers to SNI 1726:2019 for medium soil conditions in Denpasar. Model validation was carried out by checking the fundamental period, seismic weight, and element segmentation convergence. The results show that flatter column sections produce greater stiffness imbalance between the strong and weak directions. In the 120 mm × 600 mm column model, weak-axis inter-story drift increased by approximately 31.8% compared with the 300 mm × 300 mm column model, while the capacity ratio of several ground-floor columns approached 0.94. Pushover analysis indicates that flat columns tend to accelerate plastic hinge formation in ground-floor columns along the weak direction. Therefore, flat columns in low-rise buildings located in seismic regions require aspect ratio limitation, proper column orientation, closer transverse confinement detailing, and seismic performance evaluation from the early design stage.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the implementation of Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental Management (K3L) in the RSUD Suwiti Building Construction Project, Petang, Badung, Bali, considering the high risk of workplace accidents and the importance of protecting workers and the environment in construction projects. This research uses a quantitative approach with factor analysis to identify dominant variables affecting K3L implementation. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 42 respondents involved in the project, covering 25 indicators related to policy, planning, implementation, supervision, and working environment. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS through validity and reliability tests, as well as factor analysis using the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) method. The results show that all indicators are valid and reliable with a Cronbach’s Alpha value of 0.987. The data feasibility test indicates a Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) value of 0.895 and a Bartlett’s Test significance of 0.000, confirming that the data are suitable for further analysis. The factor analysis results reveal a single dominant factor with an eigenvalue of 18.947, explaining 75.789% of the total variance, indicating that all variables are strongly related and form an integrated system. Therefore, the implementation of K3L in this project can be categorized as well-implemented, structured, and effective in supporting workplace safety and environmental protection.
