Abstract

This study examines the impact of tax policies on foreign direct investment (FDI) in Indonesia’s manufacturing sector, a strategic industry that plays a vital role in supporting national economic growth and industrial development. Recognizing the importance of fiscal policy as a determinant of investment climate, the research adopts a qualitative approach to provide an in-depth understanding of how tax regulations influence investor decisions. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with key informants, including policymakers, tax practitioners, and industry representatives, as well as document analysis of relevant policy reports and regulatory frameworks. The findings reveal that tax policies significantly affect FDI inflows into Indonesia’s manufacturing sector. Incentives such as tax holidays, reduced corporate tax rates, and simplified administrative procedures were perceived as key factors in attracting investment, while frequent policy changes and regulatory uncertainties were identified as barriers to investor confidence. The study concludes that a stable, transparent, and competitive tax policy framework is essential not only for attracting new investors but also for retaining existing ones. Strengthening policy consistency and aligning tax regulations with long-term industrial goals are therefore critical strategies to enhance Indonesia’s competitiveness in the global investment landscape.

Abstract

This paper explores the post-conflict recovery dynamics in Papua, Indonesia, and focuses on how business opportunities relate to economic reconstruction. Papua has had a long history of conflict that limited its development, and recovery is an essential step towards recovery and inclusive development. Purposive sampling was used to select participants with direct recovery experience. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire, which had closed and open-ended questions, pilot-tested, and content validated to ensure reliability. Paired- samples t-tests, regression, ANCOVA, and Pearson correlation were utilized in quantitative analysis, and qualitative responses were thematically explored. The findings revealed that participants viewed economic reconstruction more favourably (M = 4.10, SD = 0.72) compared with business opportunities (M = 3.75, SD = 0.85). A paired-samples t-test showed that business opportunity perceptions improved significantly after specific interventions (t = 3.25, p < 0.01). Regression revealed reconstruction, infrastructure, government support and community engagement to be the most important predictors, with 70% of variance explained. ANCOVA revealed no significant difference in age group, whereas correlation analysis revealed strong positive relationships between reconstruction and business opportunities. Generally, the results emphasize their mutual dependence and the role of inclusive approaches, long-term governmental support, and community involvement to ensure sustainable recovery.

Abstract

Small firms play a central role in economic growth especially in the fast-growing digital economy. However, these ventures face limitations due to lack of resource bases, access to restricted markets and less developed technological strengths. This paper explores the impact of the technological innovation on the growth of small businesses, paying specific attention to the opportunities that digital tools provide to increase the efficiency of operations, reach a broader market, and become more competitive. The study incorporates a systematic literature review, policy documents, statistical data, and case studies through the qualitative descriptive methodology to show the use of technology in diverse contexts of small businesses in a practical way. The evidence suggests that technological innovation is one of the most important factors that drive the sustainability of an enterprise because it enhances productivity, customer interaction and optimization of the allocation of resources. Although these benefits exist, there are still challenges such as insufficient infrastructure, digital illiteracy and regulatory issues that hinder the best utilization of innovative solutions. It is therefore concluded that large-scale policy interventions- including government assistance, development of infrastructures, and capacity-building programs-are essential in order to help small businesses to take full advantage of technological changes. The lessons learned herein are of great support to policy makers, business leaders, and researchers and reinforces the importance of small businesses as drivers of inclusive development, as well as, resiliency in the digital era.

Abstract

The present study intends to map the developments and future trends in Human Resource Development (HRD) using a bibliometric analysis. The publication data of highly ranked academic journals on the topic of HRD were examined with the help of VOSviewer software to reveal the major research trends, author and institutional partnerships, and the most commonly used keywords. The analysis has uncovered a number of prevailing clusters such as transformational leadership, human resource management, talent management, human resource development and performance management. The cluster of transformational leadership became very salient, as it reflects its close support with job satisfaction, employee performance, motivation, and organizational outcomes. The human resource management cluster focuses on financial performance, lean processes, and efficiency in the public sector. The role of talent management was emphasized in the hospitality sector and the rise in using evidence-based methods. The cluster human resource development deals with high performance, coaching practices and organizational citizenship behavior whilst performance management deals with employee performance, job crafting and evaluation systems. Moreover, the research discerns a growing tendency towards global collaboration, which highlights the role of global outlook in HRD research. These results give a broad perspective of the changing HRD landscape and give an orientation to the future research directions.

Abstract

This study explores the complex issue of relationship between money supply and national income in Bangladesh. It narrates the determinants of per capita GDP based on data on seventeen years of information on 2006-2022. It uses a multiple regression model to assess different macroeconomic variables, such as the inflation rate, GDP growth, the real interest rate (RIR), and the narrow (M1), broad (M2), and total (M3) money aggregates and, therefore, provides a holistic examination of the factors that affect the per capita GDP. The model scores highly in explanatory power, as its R-squared estimate suggests that the chosen variables have an explanatory power that is capable of attributing a significant part of the range of variation of per capita GDP. More importantly, real interest rates have a statistically significant negative correlation with per capita GDP, such that an increase in the real interest rates is associated with a decrease in national income. On the contrary, the correlation between the per capita GDP and the different money supply indicators (M1, M2 and M3) have minimal statistical significance and this indicates that other determinants have a stronger impact on national income in the Bangladeshi environment. The findings provide policymakers and economists with practical information that is relevant to the management of economic growth and the monetary policy in Bangladesh.

Abstract

This paper interprets the connections between economic innovation models and banking roles in the past few years. The methodological methodology includes qualitative research, or synthesis and inductive. According to Savvides et al. (2003), domestic research and development as well as foreign direct investment help in rising domestic productivity and value-added growth, recent researches support the same results. The SWOT framework is extended with the help of one more value-analysis element. The findings show that green technology helps Vietnam to expand its market and consumer base, and green transformation will increase the export potential of firms and allow them to enter the global supply chain.

Abstract

Nigeria’s fiscal policy has largely centered on short-term objectives such as revenue generation, with inadequate focus on long-term structural reforms. The economy remains characterized by an inefficient tax system and a persistent dependence on oil revenue despite efforts toward diversification. This study investigates the impact of fiscal policy, economic diversification, and economic growth in Nigeria using annual time-series data from the Central Bank of Nigeria, National Bureau of Statistics, and World Bank covering 1984–2023. Employing descriptive statistics, the Augmented Dickey-Fuller and Phillips-Perron unit root tests, and the ARDL model, the study uses real GDP as the dependent variable and tax, government expenditure, domestic debt, gross fixed capital formation, and diversification index as independent variables. The results indicate that a 10% increase in tax, government expenditure, and diversification index leads to a 0.76%, 1.31%, and 0.84% rise in economic growth, respectively, while a 10% rise in domestic debt reduces growth by 2.69%. The findings show that tax, domestic debt, and diversification index significantly influence growth. Hence, the study recommends strengthening tax mobilization to reduce dependence on oil revenues and enhance macroeconomic stability.

Abstract

This paper involves the analysis of the effects of liquidity ratios and dividends on share price in three industries, which include engineering, food and allied, as well as pharmaceuticals and chemicals. The total sample will be 425 observations that will be sampled based on the financial documents of 85 companies. Annual report and Lanka Bangla database were the source of data covering the period between 2016 and 2020. The analysis shows that there is statistically significant negativity between current ratio and share price, and quick ratio and share price. On the other hand, cash ratio has a strong positive linkage with share price, and the dividends also have a strong positive impact. The research is conducted on secondary data only, and this is the main limitation of the investigation; due to the inability to find information about some companies, the sample size was minimized. The study will make important contributions to both academic and practitioner communities because by clarifying the relationship between share price, liquidity measures, and dividends, the study will be useful in the decision-making process of investors, shareholders, creditors, and other stakeholders.
