Abstract

Literature in traditional societies functions not only as a medium of cultural expression but also as a mechanism for legitimizing and negotiating power. This study examines the role of literature—both written and oral—in shaping authority structures within Bone society, South Sulawesi. Using a qualitative ethnographic approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with local leaders, community elders, and practitioners, combined with participant observation of cultural events and textual analysis of local manuscripts and oral narratives. Thematic analysis revealed that literature serves as a tool for maintaining social hierarchy, asserting political authority, and transmitting cultural norms, while also offering spaces for contestation and negotiation. The study highlights the significance of literature as both a cultural artifact and a medium of power, demonstrating how narratives influence governance, social relations, and cultural memory in Bone society

Abstract

This study examines traditional marriage literature in Bone, focusing on its role in preserving cultural heritage, guiding ritual practices, and maintaining social norms. Using an ethnographic approach, the research analyzed lontara manuscripts, oral narratives, and field observations to uncover the symbolic meanings, procedural guidelines, and societal functions embedded in local marriage customs. Data were collected through document analysis, semi-structured interviews with community elders, and participant observation of marriage ceremonies. Findings indicate that marriage literature in Bone functions as a codified guide for ritual conduct, social hierarchy, and intergenerational value transmission, reflecting both historical continuity and adaptive cultural practices. The study highlights the significance of traditional literature as a medium for preserving adat values and sustaining community identity.

Abstract

The development of a Government Hub in Bone Regency represents a strategic effort to accelerate digital transformation and strengthen innovation in public service delivery. This study aims to examine the implementation of the Government Hub, identify key indicators of success, and formulate sustainable development strategies to support modern governance. A qualitative approach employing the Simple Research Design (SRD) framework was adopted through literature review, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. Data were analyzed using the Context, Input, Process, Product (CIPP) evaluation model to assess program effectiveness comprehensively, while a system dynamics approach was utilized to understand causal relationships among variables affecting implementation. The findings indicate that the Government Hub contributes significantly to improving administrative efficiency, expanding access to digital public services, strengthening transparency and accountability, and supporting local economic development through the empowerment of micro, small, and medium enterprises and tourism sectors. The study also reveals that the sustainability of the initiative depends on adequate digital infrastructure, adaptive human resources, effective inter-institutional collaboration, and strong data governance. Despite challenges related to technological disparities and organizational resistance, the Government Hub has demonstrated its potential as a catalyst for socio-technical transformation. The study concludes that the Government Hub is not merely a technological innovation but a strategic framework for promoting inclusive, transparent, and sustainable governance in Bone Regency.
