Abstract

Seaweed is a superior commodity for aquaculture and has the largest production among other superior commodities. The factor that influences the success of seaweed cultivation is the selection of seeds, using good quality seeds because it can increase seaweed production. Therefore, seaweed produced through tissue culture techniques has the advantages and disadvantages of being able to be cultivated in turbid waters, being able to survive at low salinity and being resistant to high rainfall. Meanwhile, to make it more focused, an administrative concept is needed in it regarding management and implementation, so you will see in this journal a very clear administrative approach. The results of the research showed that the stages of the seaweed tissue culture technique started from broodstock acclimatization, sterilization test of the esplank thallus, callus induction, regeneration of embryogenic callus into micropropagules, regeneration of micropropagules into propagules (Plantlets), and maintenance of plantlets. The problem that usually occurs in seaweed tissue culture is human error. This can create sterility during the culture process, so that microorganisms can enter and contaminate the explants. In addition, the entry of microorganisms can be caused by the hole where the hose enters being too wide so that air from outside which may contain microorganisms can enter. The holes created can also cause evaporation or evaporation of sea water so that the salinity rate increases. Another situation that occurs is a lack of air supply from aeration because the internal capacity of the blower which supplies air is weak and uneven. This can cause the explants to accumulate and stick to the walls of the bottle so that nutrient absorption is hampered

Abstract

Silk fabric has long been a symbol of luxury and a cultural representation of traditional artisan communities. This research adopts an ethnographic approach to explore production practices, weaving techniques, motifs and social meanings of silk fabric in craftsmen communities. Data was collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and visual documentation, and analyzed thematically to understand the relationship between production techniques, material quality, and aesthetic value. The research results show that the process of making silk cloth not only integrates local knowledge and cultural symbolism, but also technical innovation that adapts to modern market needs. These findings emphasize the importance of preserving textile heritage through sustainable approaches, while providing an empirical contribution to the textile literature and material culture studies. These findings provide a basis for developing strategies for empowering artisan communities, product innovation, and conservation of local wisdom in the contemporary textile industry.

This research uses a qualitative ethnographic approach to explore how women craftsmen embroider cultural identity through weaving practices, traditional motifs, and technical innovation. Data was collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and visual documentation, then analyzed thematically to reveal the relationship between technical skills, motif creativity, and the symbolic value attached to silk fabric. The research results show that women craftsmen not only maintain traditional techniques, but also adapt motifs and production processes to modern market demands, so that silk weaving functions as a medium for cultural expression, women's empowerment, and community identity. This study confirms the importance of preserving traditional practices through sustainable approaches, as well as providing an empirical contribution to the understanding of the role of women in the preservation of textile heritage and innovation in material culture.

Abstract

Memory plays a central role in ethnography, shaping both cultural practice and the interpretation of experiences. This study explores how individual and collective memories influence the understanding of social norms, rituals, and everyday life in a community setting. Data were collected using in-depth interviews, participant observation, and narrative documentation, and analysed thematically to identify patterns in memory recall, narrative construction, and cultural interpretation. Findings suggest that memory functions as a cognitive and social framework that informs both participants’ practices and the ethnographer’s analysis. This study highlights the significance of incorporating memory as an analytic lens in ethnography to better capture the temporal, emotional, and symbolic dimensions of culture.

Abstract

Literature in traditional societies functions not only as a medium of cultural expression but also as a mechanism for legitimizing and negotiating power. This study examines the role of literature—both written and oral—in shaping authority structures within Bone society, South Sulawesi. Using a qualitative ethnographic approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with local leaders, community elders, and practitioners, combined with participant observation of cultural events and textual analysis of local manuscripts and oral narratives. Thematic analysis revealed that literature serves as a tool for maintaining social hierarchy, asserting political authority, and transmitting cultural norms, while also offering spaces for contestation and negotiation. The study highlights the significance of literature as both a cultural artifact and a medium of power, demonstrating how narratives influence governance, social relations, and cultural memory in Bone society
