Abstract

This article synthesizes qualitative evidence from 25 academic papers that examine the integration of Maqasid Al-Syariah principles with efforts to achieve SDG 1 (eradication of poverty) and SDG 2 (food security) in Indonesia. In the context of the complexity of challenges such as conflict, climate change and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, this approach offers a unique perspective based on sustainable ethical and Islamic values. This article looks at the contribution of Maqasid Al-Syariah in improving food security and sustainable agriculture, as well as Indonesia's strategy to deal with the problem of hunger. Emphasizing values such as compassion, fair distribution and responsible management, this approach not only strengthens efforts to achieve SDG 1 and SDG 2, but also shows how Islamic principles can be applied through initiatives such as the Islamic Food Bank to reduce poverty and food insecurity in Indonesia .

Abstract

This quantitative research aims to investigate the relationship between Human Development Index (HDI) and Economic Growth (EC GROWTH) across 38 districts in East Java, Indonesia, using data from Badan Pusat Statistik for the years 2022-2023. The study employs Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) methodology using SmartPLS to analyze the data. The path analysis revealed a statistically significant positive relationship between HDI and Economic Growth, suggesting that improvements in human development contribute significantly to economic advancement in the region. Based on these findings, recommendations include enhancing investments in education, healthcare, and infrastructure to further strengthen human capital and stimulate economic growth in East Java.

Show Abstract | Download Original | Original Source | Check in Google Scholar | DOI: 10.70177/politicae.v1i2.1117

Abstract

The research utilizes data sourced from Badan Pusat Statistik covering the years 2021-2022 for each district in West Java. The dataset includes variables such as Literacy Rates and Number of Poor People, comprising a total of 108 data points across 27 districts. This quantitative approach aims to investigate the interplay between Literacy Rates and poverty using the Structural Equation Modeling method with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) in SmartPLS 4.0, as outlined by Ghozali and Latan (2015). The study seeks to provide insights into how changes in Literacy Rates influence poverty dynamics within the province. The research finds a significant negative relationship (-0.299) between Literacy Rate and the Number of Poor People. This indicates that as Literacy Rate increases, there is a corresponding decrease in poverty levels within the province. The findings underscore the critical role of literacy in socio-economic development, highlighting its impact on educational attainment, economic opportunities, health outcomes, and community engagement.
