Maintaining ornamental fish in an aquarium requires stable water quality control, particularly in terms of temperature and acidity (potential of hydrogen or pH). Mismatches between these parameters can cause stress to the fish, weaken their immune systems, and potentially lead to death. This research aims to design and build a smart aquarium system based on an ESP32 microcontroller that is capable of automatically monitoring and controlling water temperature and pH in real time through Internet of Things (IoT) technology. The system uses a waterproof DS18B20 temperature sensor, a 4502C pH sensor, a relay module, a water heater, and pH buffer-up and buffer-down actuators. Measurement data are sent to the cloud and displayed on a web-based interface. The test results showed that the system was able to control water temperature within the range of 26–28 °C and water pH within the range of 6.5–7.2 automatically. All components functioned according to their design specifications, with data transmission delays influenced by internet network stability. Overall, the system is considered effective in supporting more efficient and controlled ornamental fish maintenance.

The need for internet access continues to increase along with the development of information technology, particularly in supporting data exchange activities in government agencies. The Palembang City Regional Tax Management Agency utilizes two internet service providers (ISPs) to support operational activities, but their bandwidth distribution has not yet been optimized. This study aims to analyze bandwidth balancing using two ISPs with the Mikrotik-based Per Connection Classifier (PCC) load-balancing method. The research method used was action research, consisting of the stages of diagnosis, action planning, action implementation, evaluation, and learning. The test results showed that the implementation of the PCC method significantly increased internet access speed. Before load balancing, video access speed on the GASNET ISP was 14.6 Mbps and on the SISNET ISP was 7.5 Mbps. After PCC implementation, access speeds increased to 95.7 Mbps on GASNET and 56.3 Mbps on SISNET. Additionally, speed test results showed an increase in download speed from 37.29 Mbps to 104.15 Mbps and in upload speed from 46.01 Mbps to 144.29 Mbps. Thus, the PCC method proved effective in optimizing bandwidth utilization and balancing traffic loads across two internet connections.

The development of information technology and computer networks has become a primary requirement in supporting company operational activities. PT Pegadaian has an internal network that can only be accessed through a cable network and internal switches to maintain data security. However, the limited number of cable devices and employee work mobility are obstacles to operational efficiency. This study aims to implement a Virtual Private Network (VPN) over a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) by implementing Media Access Control (MAC) address restrictions and WPA2-PSK security. The method used is the Network Development Life Cycle (NDLC) which includes the stages of analysis, design, simulation, implementation, monitoring, and management. The results of the study show that all registered user devices successfully connected to the VPN network via WLAN. In addition, user restrictions through MAC address filtering have been proven to improve network security. Thus, the implementation of a WLAN-based VPN with MAC address and WPA2-PSK security has successfully increased the flexibility and security of internal network access at PT Pegadaian's Palembang Area Office.
