Abstract

The rapid advancement of the Internet of Things (IoT) has enabled the development of smart systems that automate various aspects of urban infrastructure, including parking management. This study aims to design and implement an IoT-based parking lot monitoring system that assists drivers in identifying available parking spaces and locating them accurately within a parking area. The system provides real-time information regarding slot availability through a display installed at the entrance gate. The prototype employs an ESP32 microcontroller, ultrasonic sensors, a PIR (Passive Infrared) sensor, a servo motor, LED indicators, and a buzzer as the main hardware components. The system software was developed using the Arduino IDE for embedded programming and Microsoft Visual Studio (C#) for the desktop monitoring application. System testing demonstrates that the prototype successfully delivers real-time information on parking slot occupancy and overall parking capacity. The proposed system enhances the effectiveness and efficiency of parking management for both operators and users.

Abstract

User management is a systematic process that regulates how users perform tasks within an information system. This process includes the creation of user profiles, the assignment of user roles, the determination of access rights, and the control of user activities. Cloud computing, as a technology that utilizes internet-based servers for data storage and processing, has become increasingly important in supporting data accuracy, speed, and efficiency in various organizational environments. However, many educational institutions still lack an optimal understanding and implementation of this technology. This study aims to design and implement a cloud computing–based user management system for the computer laboratory at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Palembang. The proposed system utilizes private cloud storage through OwnCloud running on the Linux Ubuntu operating system. The implementation is intended to address issues related to data security, misuse of laboratory facilities, and data loss caused by shared storage media. The results demonstrate that the implemented cloud-based user management system enhances data security through authentication mechanisms, improves the efficiency of data management, and reduces operational costs related to software and hardware maintenance.

Abstract

The internet has become one of the most essential communication services that is widely utilized across all sectors of society. At the Telkom Akses Warehouse, Wi-Fi technology is used to provide internet connectivity for employees, technicians, and visitors. However, one of the major problems identified is that the placement of access points has been carried out solely based on immediate needs and the subjective preferences of installers, resulting in suboptimal signal distribution and unstable internet connectivity. This study aims to optimize the placement of access points on the Telkom Akses Wi-Fi network using the Action Research method and the NetSpot application as the primary analytical tool. Action Research was applied as a structured and controlled research approach to deliberately introduce changes in the network environment and monitor their impact. The results of signal level and coverage measurements indicate that the number and placement of access points required to adequately cover an area depend on the type and specifications of the access points used. After optimization, the measured signal levels reached −38 dBm to −40 dBm, which fall into the very good category. The findings further demonstrate that distance is not the only factor influencing the quality of the received signal. The physical structure of the warehouse, including walls, glass partitions, and other obstacles, also significantly affects Wi-Fi signal propagation and quality.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries with a high level of dependence on cellular communication systems. Along with rapid technological advancement, cellular networks in Indonesia continue to develop intensively, resulting in increasingly competitive service provision. The 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network is currently the most widely used mobile technology due to its superior data transmission speed and capacity, with download speeds reaching up to 300 Mbps and upload speeds up to 75 Mbps under optimal conditions. This study aims to analyze and compare the Quality of Service (QoS) of 4G LTE networks provided by Telkomsel, IM3, and 3 (Three) in Prabumulih City, Indonesia. The analysis was conducted using the OpenSignal, Google Maps, and Wireshark applications. OpenSignal was employed to identify the locations of Base Transceiver Station (BTS) towers, Google Maps was used to determine the distance between users and BTS locations, and Wireshark was utilized to measure QoS parameters, namely throughput, packet loss, delay, and jitter. The research adopted an action research approach consisting of planning, implementation, and evaluation stages based on QoS analysis. The results indicate significant variations in QoS among the three providers. These differences are primarily influenced by signal attenuation due to variations in user distance from BTS towers and by network congestion caused by high user density in specific locations.

Abstract

Law Number 06 of 2014 concerning Villages stipulates that the authority to appoint and dismiss village officials is vested in the village head, provided that the process complies with prevailing legal regulations. Consequently, the selection of outstanding village officials must be conducted in a fair, transparent, and accountable manner to avoid subjectivity and bias. This study aims to design and implement a Decision Support System (DSS) for selecting the best village officials at the Pajar Bulan Village Office by applying the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. AHP is utilized as a structured multi-criteria decision-making approach that determines priority weights through systematic pairwise comparisons. The proposed system was developed using the PHP programming language with a MySQL database as the data storage platform. The results demonstrate that the system is capable of producing objective and accurate rankings of village officials based on predetermined criteria, thereby enhancing both the efficiency and transparency of the selection process at Pajar Bulan Village.
