SAWERIGADING is a journal aiming to publish literary studies researches, either Indonesian, local, or foreign literatures. All articles in SAWERIGADING have passed reviewing process by peer reviewers and edited by editors. SAWERIGADING is published by Balai Bahasa Sulawesi Selatan twice times a year, in June and December. SAWERIGADING focuses on publishing research articles and current issues related to language, literature, and the instructor. The main objective of SAWERIGADING is to provide a platform for scholars, academics, lecturers, and researchers to share contemporary thoughts in their fields. The editor has reviewed all published articles. SAWERIGADING accepts submissions of original articles that have not been published elsewhere nor being considered or processed for publication anywhere, and demonstrate no plagiarism whatsoever. The prerequisites, standards, and format of the manuscript are listed in the author guidelines and templates. Any accepted manuscript will be reviewed by at least two referees. Authors are free of charge throughout the whole process, including article submission, review and editing process, and publication.

Abstract

Semiotics is a sign study and every thing which are related to the sign like sign system and process of sign usage of a sign system, and as a language sign system in literary text is not only related to the first level meaning, but also more on the second level meaning. Code systems include, action code, puzzle code, culture code, connotative code, and simbolic code.

Abstract

AbstractIt has been recognized that the development of “Aksara Lontara” isunsatisfactory, especially in facilitating the punctuation needed to spell the soundof aksara Lontara. Expressing culture through an understanding of locallanguage orthography may give contribution to the connection history of ournation in the past and the present time.The aksara Lontara is used for severalfunctions, such as writing religion book, names of street/road, name plates, andmany others. However, people find difficulties in reading such a spelling ofaksara Lontara. Therefore, punctuation as a sign of consonants for aksaraLontara is required to be developed.In this article, five signs of consonants foraksara Lontara are proposed. They are “o”, “x”, and “Ö” above the letter, “_”below the letter, and the letter written in smaller font, as in m into “m” whichsounds “m”.

Abstract

“Sang Mandor” by Rahman Arge is a text written the based on reality in sociallife, although imagination aspect is more conspicuous. The Aim of this writing isto describe instrinsic aspect in text of drama Sang Mandor. The plot described inthe story shows chronological life or logicet plot. Character in the drama isinteraction among human; setting consists of nature setting happen in Macassar,time setting, social setting which, Sang Mandor Theme is egoist way of life.Instrinsic aspect found in text of drama Sang Mandor by Rahman Arge is aspectthat interrelates and forms a whole structural aspect which can not be separatedwith the other.

Abstract

This writing presents lexem that expresses sense of feeling related to the stomach inMandarese. These lexems are identified by using analysis theory of lexical componentmeaning. There are two semantic fields as aoutputs of this brief analysis, namely 1)semantic field with superordinate without the feeling of illness, and 2) semantic fieldwith superordinate that followed by the feling of illness. The two semantic fieldsuncover thirteen lexemsexpressing the related to the stomach in Mandarese.

Abstract

This writing describes the reflection of Bushido’s spirit in Anak TurusienngiPappasenna Tomatoanna’s story. Bushido’s spirit is the secret regarding thesuccessful of Japanese people. Data is analyzed by using descriptive method, whilethe analysis result found that the successful of La Tinulu the central character inthe story has been the reflection of Bushido’s spirit.

Abstract

This writing discusses concerning phonetic analysisof Buginese Language of Barru dialect. Phonetic analysis is intended to investigate and to analyze pronouncing sounds produced by human articulator. Method used in this writing is descriptive. In the first part of discussion, the writer makes transliteratoin the story of La Pesok sibawa La Buta. Furthermore, phonetic is done in addition to clarify sound bases on phonetic analysis, description of vowel and consonant illustration in the word and making map is of vowel and consonant sound.

Abstract

This analysis intends to describe theory and method of interpretation of literary text meaning, namely hermeneutic. Hermeneutic is interpreting process that involvesthree aspects such as, text, mediator, and reader. The three aspect relatedialectically and each aspects play role in process of giving meaning. Literary textis political symbol and consept so that it’s meaning is hidden. Hermeneutic is oneway to explore hidden meaning behind the literary text.

Abstract

Macassar’s folklore of Tuappaka Sisarikbattang is a famous story inMacassar’s sucietes. There is rich man who has four children. He asks hischildren to go and find knowledge. All of them go and promise to meet eachother in one place. At the time, after they have finished their duty to findknowledge, they meet in the agreed place. They have reached incrediblesuccesful and become some one whom king can rely on, the eldest child evenbecame king’s son in law moral values contain. In the story knowledge is animportant thing, working hard, cooperative and honest.

Abstract

The objectives of the research are to describe, to interpret, and to explain the use of the relational value of sentences models in Campaign Discourse of Governor and Vice Governor Candidates of South Sulawesi in the Period of 2008—2013. The method used qualitative approach. It is a kind of critical discourse analysis of Fairclough Model that analyzes on three dimensions of discourse started from the text description to the interpretation and explanation. Result of the study shows that the three candidates have used the efficiency of the value in sentences models includes the use of declarative model, interogative model, and imperative model.All of the sentences models are used to assert the candidate identity, to show program, and to engrave the ideology values suchas religious value, local cultural value, and grammatical value. Those are the opponent which cover the partisan and non-partisan of the candidates, among the candidates, even toward the certain institution.
