Abstract

This study aims to identify the factors influencing communication among stakeholders and to explore communication strategies that can be implemented to address bullying issues at Nurul Jadid Junior High School. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study method, data were collected through direct observation, in-depth interviews with students, teachers, and parents, as well as documentation of school policies and bullying incident reports. Data analysis was conducted descriptively through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that bullying at Nurul Jadid Junior High School is predominantly verbal (45%), followed by physical bullying (35%) and social bullying (20%). A culture of seniority and weak supervision are the primary contributing factors to bullying behavior. This study highlights the need for value-based anti-bullying programs grounded in Islamic principles, the strengthening of supervision systems, and the implementation of secure and anonymous reporting mechanisms to encourage students to report bullying cases without fear. By applying effective communication strategies, the school can create a safer and more harmonious learning environment while supporting the positive character development of students.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role and effectiveness of biology laboratory facilities in supporting students' practical activities at SMA Negeri 1 Palembang and SMA PGRI 1 Palembang, with a focus on the implementation of laboratory functions, storage systems, and equipment maintenance procedures. The research method used is a descriptive approach with direct field observations and interviews with laboratory managers. Data collection techniques include observations of laboratory facility conditions, interviews with the laboratory head and laboratory assistants, as well as documentation of equipment maintenance and storage procedures. The collected data were then analyzed qualitatively to identify the challenges and successes in laboratory management. The results of the study show that the laboratories in both schools function well as practical tools and for developing students' scientific skills. However, there are several barriers that hinder their effectiveness, such as equipment damage and limitations in procuring new tools. At SMA PGRI 1 Palembang, the unavailability of equipment causes practical sessions to often be replaced with theory. The implications of this study indicate that the laboratory maintenance and storage system needs to be strengthened with more structured care and the procurement of new equipment. The study also recommends improving laboratory management in both schools to ensure optimal practical activities.

Abstract

This study was conducted with the aim of determining the differences in pedagogical, andragogical, and heutagogical learning theories. Heutagogical theory is a continuum of pedagogy and andragogy. Based on the understanding of the PAH continuum (Pedagogy-Andragogy-Heutagogy), we want to determine the relevance of the PAH learning theory to the characteristics of teachers in the 21st century. The research method used is a literature review with the aim of determining the concepts of various literatures related to the PAH continuum and the suitability or not of the learning theory with 21st century teachers. The results of this study indicate that pedagogical theory focuses on the teacher-centered learning process and is not centered on students. Andragogical theory is a learning process that emphasizes that to become active learners, they need to independently plan their learning needs and know how they obtain and feel satisfied. Heutagogical theory emphasizes that students have full autonomy in the learning process in the classroom by creating an active and enjoyable learning atmosphere for them. Learning in the 21st century demands innovation so that education should not impose limitations on learners to be able to expand their knowledge, so that for teachers the theory of andragogy is still considered relevant for 21st century learning, while heutagogy is more suitable for learning in higher education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the historical development of Islamic education in Indonesia and the policy dynamics that have shaped its transformation from the pre-colonial period to the early post-independence era. The main focus of this research is the role of Islamic educational institutions such as surau, pesantren, and madrasah in forming the religious, social, and intellectual identity of Indonesian Muslim society amid socio-political change. This study employs a qualitative approach using library research methods. Data were collected through a systematic review of relevant academic literature, including scholarly books, peer-reviewed journal articles, historical documents, and policy publications related to Islamic education and educational governance. The collected data were analyzed using a descriptive-qualitative method with a historical perspective to identify patterns of development, continuity, and transformation in Islamic education across different historical phases. The findings indicate that Islamic education in Indonesia has evolved adaptively through continuous interaction between local traditions, religious authority, and state policies. During the colonial period, Islamic education functioned as a form of cultural resistance against discriminatory colonial education systems. In the post-independence period, Islamic education particularly madrasahs experienced increased state recognition through institutional development, curriculum integration between religious and general subjects, and national standardization efforts. This study concludes that Islamic education in Indonesia represents a dynamic and resilient educational system capable of transformation without losing its core religious values. The implications of this research highlight the importance of inclusive, context-sensitive educational policies to strengthen the quality and sustainability of Islamic education in Indonesia.
