Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of value-based leadership in the management of cultural diversity in Islamic educational institutions, with a focus on the application of the principles of justice, honesty, and deliberation. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study type, involving in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis as data collection techniques. Through thematic analysis, this study found that leaders who place Islamic values as the foundation of decision-making show higher abilities in creating an inclusive and harmonious work environment. The results of the interviews showed that a value-based approach was able to build trust and openness among members of the organization. Leaders who consistently apply the principles of justice and deliberation also show greater effectiveness in managing intercultural conflicts. The implications of this study show that value-based leadership has an important role in supporting harmony and collaboration in a culturally diverse environment, while also contributing to improving organizational performance. Thus, this research provides valuable insights for Islamic educational institutions in designing a leadership model that is able to optimize the potential of human resources in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

The study on the adoption of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Islamic educational institutions offers a detailed exploration of their potential benefits and challenges. The research aims to identify obstacles faced by these institutions in adopting advanced technologies, assess their opportunities for enhancing managerial effectiveness, and evaluate their impact on educational quality and financial transparency. A qualitative-descriptive approach was employed, incorporating interviews with leaders, administrative staff, and teaching personnel from institutions with varying levels of technological integration. This method provided rich insights into the perceptions and experiences of stakeholders, capturing diverse perspectives on the implementation of Big Data and AI. The findings reveal significant advancements in decision-making processes, enabling managers to respond swiftly and effectively to emerging challenges. AI-driven personalized learning enhances student engagement and outcomes, while the integration of Big Data contributes to transparent financial management by optimizing resource allocation. However, several challenges were identified, including inadequate technological infrastructure, a lack of skilled human resources, and concerns about data privacy and security. These obstacles underscore the need for strategic investments in technology, staff training programs, and robust data security measures. The implications of this study suggest a pathway for Islamic educational institutions toward successful digital transformation. Strategic planning that aligns technology adoption with institutional goals, active stakeholder engagement, and continuous evaluation mechanisms are crucial for achieving sustainable integration. By addressing these elements, institutions can harness the potential of Big Data and AI while remaining aligned with Islamic educational values.

Abstract

This research seeks to explore the role of pesantren culture in shaping Islamic education management systems that align with the needs of the modern world. The primary goal of the study is to understand how core pesantren values-such as solidarity, independence, discipline, and sincerity-can be integrated with contemporary management practices. The research adopts a qualitative approach, utilizing case studies, in-depth interviews, and observations at several well-established pesantren across Indonesia. The findings suggest that pesantren can preserve Islamic traditions while incorporating management innovations, particularly in areas like leadership, human resource management, finance, and the educational process. This study proposes that reinforcing a management framework rooted in pesantren culture can boost the effectiveness and sustainability of Islamic educational institutions in today’s era. The study highlights the importance of enhancing managerial training within pesantren, incorporating technology into teaching and learning, and improving financial management through more transparent and accountable systems. Furthermore, the research recommends future studies to investigate the implementation of pesantren-based management models in diverse pesantren types and to examine the influence of human resource capacity on the adoption of professional management practices.

Abstract

This research explores the development of sustainable and competitive education through comprehensive planning strategies in educational institutions. It aims to evaluate the effectiveness of strategic approaches in curriculum design, human resource management, and technology use in preparing students for global challenges. The study adopts a survey method with a quantitative approach, collecting data from a diverse range of respondents to assess their perceptions of sustainable education. Data was gathered through questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques to examine perceptions related to educational sustainability, soft skills development, technology readiness, and curriculum evaluation. The findings reveal that 85% of respondents acknowledge the importance of education in not only addressing immediate needs but also preparing students with relevant skills for the future. Regular teacher training on technology-based teaching methods, such as e-learning platforms, was identified as a crucial step, along with the need for schools to collaborate with local industries to align curricula with industry demands and offer internships to develop practical skills. Furthermore, 78% of respondents considered technology an essential factor in education, although infrastructure limitations remain a challenge in some regions. This study suggests that education in Indonesia must strengthen strategic planning, particularly in integrating soft skills and improving technological infrastructure, to create more inclusive and adaptive educational systems. Recommendations include fostering collaborations with external sectors to enhance the development of sustainable, globally competitive education.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the educational programs at private MTs (Islamic junior high schools) in Kediri Regency using the CIPP model (Context, Input, Process, Product). The evaluation was conducted to assess the extent to which the implemented programs align with the expected standards and their impact on the quality of learning in the two madrasahs. This research employed a qualitative approach with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings reveal that most madrasahs have visions and missions aligned with the goals of national education; however, the main challenges lie in the limited resources, both in terms of teacher competencies and learning facilities. The curriculum applied tends to emphasize theoretical aspects while giving less attention to the development of practical skills such as communication, collaboration, and problem-solving. The teaching and learning process in most madrasahs is still dominated by lecture and memorization methods, with minimal use of technology and limited active interaction between teachers and students. Program evaluation has not been carried out systematically, with only a few madrasahs implementing data-based evaluations. The final results indicate that although students are able to achieve satisfactory academic scores, they still lack practical skills relevant to future needs. This study recommends enhancing teacher training, strengthening data-based evaluation, adjusting the curriculum to balance theory and practice, and utilizing technology in the learning process to improve the quality of education in madrasahs.

Abstract

The high number of students who do not continue their higher education is a problem for Islamic boarding schools, especially in improving the quality of human resources. One of the reasons is the lack of social support, lack of motivation to learn, and lack of leadership oriented towards student development. This study aims to analyze the influence of social support and servant leadership on students' learning motivation and its impact on their interest in continuing higher education. This study uses a quantitative approach with the SmartPLS-based Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method. The data was collected through a questionnaire distributed to students at one of the Salafi Islamic boarding schools. The results of the study show that social support has a positive and significant effect on learning motivation and interest in continuing higher education. Servant leadership also has a positive and significant influence on students' motivation to learn. However, learning motivation does not significantly affect students' interest in pursuing higher education, which indicates that there are other factors that are more dominant in influencing students' decisions. In addition, the interaction between social support and servant leadership on learning motivation did not show a significant effect. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of increasing social support and the implementation  of servant leadership in pesantren in order to build an environment conducive to increasing students' motivation to learn and interest in continuing their education to a higher level.
