Abstract

This study was aimed at finding out the effects of problem-based learning (PBL) method to increase the students learning interests and achievement in advanced statistics. The study was conducted by classroom action research in two cycles. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Findings showed that the implementation of the PBL method was able to increase the students learning interests both inside and outside the class. By way of case analysis tasks, students showed great participation in the teaching learning process. The PBL method also increased the students achievement. The students showed great understanding of the concepts and application of advanced statistics.

Abstract

This study was aimed at knowing the development and effectiveness of the thematic learning model in elementary school students class work. The research was conducted in two phases. The first phase involved the development of the thematic learning model using the 4-D mode. The second phase involved the implementation of the model in the schools using the classroom action research mode. The subjects were 19 students of Sekayu 2 Elementary School and 43 students of Tambakaji 3 Elementary School, both in Semarang. Observations were conducted on students class work, students learning activities, and students learning achievement. Data were analyzed descriptively. The results of the study showed that the implementation of the thematic learning model improved students class work from the low ratings of 1, 7 and 1, 44 to 3, 2 and 3, 06.

Abstract

This study was aimed at developing module material for Guidance and Counseling teachers to increase the psychological preparedness of senior high school students in facing natural disasters. Using the research and development approach, the researcher involved 48 Guidance and Counseling teachers in the special region of Yogyakarta as research participants for needs assessment purposes. The modules were tried out to Guidance and Counseling teachers of senior high schools in the special region of Yogyakarta, involving 6 people at the initial field, 15 people at the main field, and 65 people at the operational field. Instruments applied to collect data were either opened or closed questionnaires. The collected data, the quantitative as well as the qualitative ones, were analyzed descriptively. Results obtained from this study are: (1) Material required by Guidance and Counseling teachers for module of psychological preparedness in facing natural disaster cover cognitive aspects ( 14,58%), affective aspects ( 31,25%) and psychomotoric aspects ( 52,08%); (2) The module of "Personal-Sosial Guidance for increasing Psychological Preparedness of Students in Facing Natural Disasters" cover three activities of personal-sosial services, each to face natural disasters of (a) earthquake, (b) mount eruption, and (c) tropical cyclone; and (3) The module validated is valued proper either in appearance or in concept, and is also useful as media for assisting to perform service of personal-sosial guidance to increase psychological preparedness of senior high school students in facing natural disaster. Further, the module is valued as self-contained for having fulfilled acceptance criterion (subjects reaching 80% of minimum understanding) at the test of content understanding and module readability.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study was to describe the programme planning, intervention, and evaluation of the instructional treatment of autistic children. Using the naturalistic qualitative approach, data were collected by interviews, observations, and document analyses. Data were validated by way of the triangulation technique, checking with department friends through discussions and by way of in-depth observation. The data collected were reduced and analysed to yield the research findings. The findings are as follows. The autism treatment programme was carried out through many steps of planning, performance, and evaluation. Autism is an integral part of children who have a special need and special education with service modelling according to their interests, needs, and abilities. Autism is a trouble and tardiness in cognitive, communication, social interaction, and habits. Autism needs a treatment programme that is the same with their education process and everything is given wholly and individually so that they can improve their abilities. Suggestions were given that autism programme be made more effective, the headmaster increase the number of teachers, and cooperation be maximalized between the school and parents.

Abstract

The study was aimed at improving the aesthetic experience of Reog art community KALOKA, improving the appreciation of folk art and the childrens choreography design through folk traditional art revitalitation on reog KALOKA. Conducted in Suru Kemadang Tanjungsari Gunungkidul Yogyakarta, from May to December using action research design, the subjects of the research included actors, group leader, coach and players. The action research was conducted in two cycles, Cycle I in 6 meetings Cycle II in 8 sessions. The researcher served as the action performer, the group leader as the collaborator, and two students as coaches. The results showed that: the design should be in line with the movement characteristics of children of elementary and junior high schools which consisted of eleven main movements: a) napak satu menthangan nekuk walk; b) forward mipil walk, shoulder movement 2; c) making formation, jengkeng, pacak gulu coklekan; d) sembahan, heads coklekan, right and left; e) standing, mipil walk leg gedrug-gedrug; f) awe-awe movement; g) moving forward uniformly ngracik, making the perpendicular floor pattern with shoulder movement; h) walk in place, kuda jengkeng formation place in the stand position 9 side by side), carrying; i) walk in place, sitting in circle while clapping hands, movement in place face to face dolanan asto, movement in place lonthangan; j) taking the horse together, gedrug-gedrug movement; and k) mipil walk (both hand holding the horse) 4 line formation, moving forward together with shoulder movement variation, moving backward together with shoulder movement variation. Abstract

Abstract

The aim of this study was to describe ways to improve methods of finding new materials existing in the environment for handicraft creation using the inquiry approach. The study was class action research involving 36 students in the third semester of PGSD UNNES. Data were collected by using observation, field notes, documentation, and interviews. The data were analyzed descriptively using the indicators that had been determined. The success level of the action included the level of students ability shown by results in material sources digging, creativity of making and creation, and learning process. Findings showed that, in the third cycle of the research, students ability of digging new material sources and their learning activity reached the good criteria level. Suggestions were given that the lecturer team (1) maximalize collaboration in identifying problems and deciding the alternative solutions and 2) use innovative learning activities to increase the quality of learning interaction.

Untuk itu telah dilaksanakan penelitian tentang pengembangan pembelajaran tematik yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengembangan dan keefektifan penerapan pembelajaran tematik yang meningkatkan kerja ilmiah siswa kelas II SD. Penelitian ini, pada dasarnya melalui 2 tahap. Tahap pertama adalah pengembangan model pembelajaran tematik, untuk itu digunakan acuan model 4-D. Tahap kedua adalah penerapan model yang telah dikembangkan tersebut di SD. Untuk mengetahui bagaimana keefektifan penerapan pembelajaran tematik yang dikembangkan ini digunakan penelitian action research. Subjek penelitian adalah 19 siswa kelas II SD Sekayu 02 Semarang, dan 43 siswa kelas II SD Tambakaji 03 Semarang. Variable penelitian pada penelitian ini adalah kerja ilmiah siswa, aktivitas siswa, aktivitas guru, prestasi belajar siswa. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis data deskriptif. Pembahasan hasil penelitian pada kesempatan ini difokuskan pada kemampuan kerja ilmiah siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran tematik yang dikembangkan pada SD Sekayu 02 Semarang dan SD Tambakaji 03 Semarang berturut-turut dapat meningkatkan kemampuan kerja ilmiah siswa dari peringkat kurang (1,7 dan 1,44) menjadi baik (3,2 dan 3,06).
