Abstract

This research is intended to find out the strategy of learning astronomy of Lajnah Falakiyah Annuqayah at PP. Annuqayah and the impact resulting on santri, pesantren and the surrounding community. The study of astronomy—in various pesantren—began to be less attractive, due to its difficult presumption to learn and master. This can certainly impend the existence of astronomy. Therefore, the idea of updating the methods and strategies of astronomy studying by pesantren is absolutely necessary to ensure the sustainability of this scientific discipline that can instantly have a positive impact on society. There are two questions raised in this paper, that are what are the strategies for learning astronomy at Pondok Pesantrn Annuqayah? and what is its contribution to Pondok Pesantren Annuqayah? The theory used in analyzing this issue is Syaiful Bahri Djamarah's theory of the basic concepts of teaching and learning strategies to achieve goals, including determining the criteria for changes in students' behavior or attitude in accordance with what is desired and expected as a result of learning that has been carried out, choosing effective and targeted learning approaches to achieve learning targets and in accordance with community aspirations, determining and selecting learning techniques, learning methods and learning procedures that are considered the best and most effective that they become the teacher's benchmark when teaching and learning activities take place, and clarifying the measures and criteria for student learning success as a teacher's guide in carrying out evaluations of teaching and learning activities that is undergone. From this, it can be concluded that Lajnah Falakiyah Annuqayah uses an expository learning strategy and its presentation uses a deductive learning strategy which ultimately has a real impact on the lives of students, pesantren and also the surrounding community, especially in the practice of ubudiyah.

Abstract

This research departs from the statement that santri are considered to have a role in maintaining and preserving local traditions, armed with the knowledge and experience gained at the pesantren. This can be seen in the Kompolan Tera' Bulan in Gapura Sumenep District. This study aims to describe the efforts and activities carried out by santri in maintaining local traditions in Kompolan Tera' Bulan. The questions to answer include: How do santri take care of local traditions? What is the role of santri in taking care of traditions in Kompolan Tera' Bulan? and what are the impacts of taking care of traditions in Kompolan Tera' Bulan? The data in this paper were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation to active members of Kompolan Tera' Bulan, which were then classified, reduced, and analysed in depth. In the end, it was found that santri have various ways to maintain local traditions in Kompolan Tera' Bulan, such as socialising local traditions, encouraging the implementation of local traditions, providing examples in maintaining local traditions, creating local culture as an identity, caring for the environment, direct practice of parts of the tradition consistently, and instilling faith in the community. In Kompolan Tera' Bulan activities, santri have three roles in maintaining local traditions, that is acting as leaders, as mobilisers in the community, and as motivators or encouragers. In addition, there are at least five real impacts of maintaining local traditions in Kompolan Tera' Bulan, that are: strengthening friendship, encouraging the implementation of routine community gatherings, raising public awareness of the importance of models such as Kompolan Tera' Bulan, preserving local traditions, becoming a forum for forging various knowledge, especially regarding cultural locality.

Abstract

Self-development is very urgent to add broad insights of all aspects. Not just in theory, but it should bring into an action as well. Recognizing the importance of self-development, the researcher identified the problem of weak self-development among santri of Pondok Pesantren Annuqayah Lubangsa Selatan, with the case of less-creativity among santri as well as their dependency on doing things. This research is intended to reveal three things: First, the role of the Iksandalika organisation in the self-development of santri, Second, the driving factors and barriers of the Iksandalika organisation in the self-development of santri, Third, the solution to the organizational barrier factors in the self-development of santri. To analyse this, the author uses Abraham Maslow's theory of the hierarchy of needs, which includes physiological needs, security, social, appreciation, and self-actualisation. As for the research methodology, the author uses a case approach, utilizing observation, interviews, and documentation for data collection. After conducting an in-depth analysis, this research identifies three roles of the Iksandalika organisation in developing santri at Pondok Pesantren Annuqayah Lubangsa Selatan including, first, the role of the Iksandalika organisation as an organisational platform, second, the role of the Iksandalika organisation as a catalyst or motivator, third, the role of the Iksandalika organisation as a form of santri guidance. The driving factors include: the enthusiasm of students in the organisation, intelligence factors, and environmental factors. While the barrier factors are: the lack of awareness of santri, not feeling at home, insufficient support from the closest associates. The solution to overcome these barrier factors is to understand the character of each student, provide socialisation about the urgency of self-development, provide motivation to the santri.

Abstract

The emergence of various problems in the midst of society is definitely related to the moral quality in it. Social problems currently occur in almost all orders of society, even in the world of education. Bullying, theft, molestation and various other violence have been attached to the world of education. It is a dark face of the Indonesian education world that shows that the noble personality values in students have begun to fade. Therefore, this paper will in depth examine the process of character education in shaping the personality of students at PP. Darul Ulum Sumber Baru Sokobanah Sampang Madura. Character education must be supported by qualified environmental conditions, especially for a teacher who is required to have a noble personality that it can have a positive influence on the character and identity of the students. This paper will answer at least two main points—how character education planning at Darul Ulum Islamic Boarding School Sumber Baru Sokobanah Sampang is and what the effect on the personality of the santri is. The description in this paper will use a qualitative approach and descriptive writing for further data explaination obtained through interviews, observation and documentation. From an in-depth study of the problems, it was found that Pesantren Darul Ulum succeeded in internalizing character values outside of formal school hours in the form of extracurricular programs through several pesantren activities, both learning, recitation and other santri’s religious activities. In the end, students are able to apply the ten character values absorbed from the surrounding environment, so that it get better, more religious, for their personalities, then in the end it will lead them to get better achievements.

Abstract

The reality in the field where people make religious pilgrimages causes the author's interest in researching the tradition of the grave pilgrimage of the scholar of Allah SWT. which exists among the community today. The issues raised from this research are how the community practices the grave pilgrimage of Sayyid Yusuf's grave? and how the santri traditionalise the grave pilgrimage of Sayyid Yusuf's grave? Considering that in Pesantren the santri are encouraged to frequent a pilgrimage to the grave of the founding figures of the pesantren. Therefore, the author wants to prove that the community tradition of pilgrimage to the grave of Allah Swt. scholar is part of the santri tradition. In this research, the author utilizes a qualitative research method with the a case study approach. This method is a type of research method that has more characteristics to examine social and cultural phenomen naturally. The results of this study are, first, people perform grave pilgrimages, especially to Sayyid Yusuf with the aim of connecting prayers to the saints of God. They assume that saints are God's chosen people and must be close to Him. In addition, the practice of pilgrimage can make pilgrims feel calm, peaceful, safe and serene. Second, the pilgrimage to the grave of Sayyid Yusuf's grave is not only done to visit the grave, but to read the Qur'an, expect blessings and tawasul. Third, grave pilgrimage can be categorised as a santri tradition that is also practised among the community.

Abstract

As an educational institution—mostly located in rural areas, Pesantren has initially carried out educational programs in the way know as sorogan and bandongan methods as the main methods. Recently, it developed into a classical model, formed into educational units that remained under the auspices of the Pesantren. The chosen education unit usually refers to the curriculum from the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kementrian Agama) which is then called madrasah. The rapid development of education in fact requires some Pesantren to open new educational institutions affiliated with the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemdikbud). It take these two ministries both similarities and differences to implement the curriculum. In addition, It is not merely a large Pesantren that implement education with a dual system model, but small pesantren either. Pesantren al-Falah and Sumber Gayam Kadur are such a small pesantren that implements education by that model. One of the educational institutions, included in the realm—dualism, are MTs and junior high schools, MA and SMA. This paper will go further to describe the management of educators and students in MA and SMA, including how is the relationship between MA and SMA? This research will come by the system theory and AGIL popularized by Talcots Parson assisted by comparative analysis to find its shortcomings and advantages. In the end, it was found that the implementation of dual education system under the auspices of one small pesantren has both positive and negative impacts. Various efforts are made to advance each educational institution, especially to attract limited human resources as the capital of the institution's sustainability. Therefore, efforts to attract students often lead to jealousy, controversy and opposition.
