Abstract

Stunting is a significant issue as it adversely impacts the quality of Human Resources (HR). Prospective brides and grooms should get counselling on stunting prevention to enhance their understanding of the significance of nutrition and health before and during pregnancy, which contributes to stunting prevention. This study aims to determine the impact of counselling on the awareness of stunting prevention among prospective brides and grooms. This research was performed in the KUA (Religious Affairs Office) Kapanewon Godean, Sleman Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta. This study employed a pre-experimental design utilising a one-group pretest-posttest design. This study was carried out in January 2025. The sampling method employed was total sampling with 30 respondents. The findings of this study showed a significant improvement in the knowledge levels of prospective brides and grooms following the intervention, with the majority of respondents classified in the good knowledge category, achieving a posttest score of 96.7%. The Wilcoxon test obtained p = 0.000 (<0.05), indicating that the disparity between the mean pretest and posttest values was statistically significant. Therefore, it may be inferred that counselling significantly impacts the awareness of prospective brides and grooms on stunting prevention. Thus, the findings of this study suggest that stunting counselling for prospective brides and grooms at the KUA should be conducted regularly and consistently.

Abstract

Premature Rupture of Membranes (PROM) poses serious risks to both mother and baby, as it can lead to infections caused by bacteria entering the uterus, increasing the risk of maternal and neonatal death, preterm birth, and birth defects. This study aimed to identify factors associated with the incidence of PROM at Bakti Timah Hospital, Pangkalpinang, in 2024. The research employed a descriptive-analytic design with a case-control approach (ratio 1:2) involving 120 samples, consisting of 40 mothers with PROM (total sampling) and 80 mothers without PROM (random sampling). Data were analyzed using the chi-square test. This research was conducted in June to July at Bakti Timun Hospital, Pangkalpinang. The results showed that factors significantly associated with PROM were maternal age (p=0.019; OR=0.244) This means that there is a relationship between the mother's age and the occurrence of premature rupture of membranes, gestational age (p=0.042; OR=8.778) This means there is a relationship between gestational age and the occurrence of premature rupture of membrane, and parity (p=0.000; OR=0.157) This means there is a relationship between parity and the occurrence of premature rupture of membranes. Occupation was not significantly associated (p=0.071; OR=3.028), with gestational age being the dominant factor. These findings are expected to serve as a reference for healthcare workers in early detection and prevention of PROM, as well as in improving comprehensive antenatal care for pregnant women.

Abstract

Pregnancy and childbirth are natural physiological processes that require quality nursing through the continuity of care approach to optimize maternal and infant health and to prevent complications. Continuity of care (coc) is a comprehensive approach in which a midwife provides continuous and continuous nursing care to women from pregnancy, childbirth, nifas, to family planning. This study describes the application of comprehensive obstetrics to Mrs. Adams. I, age 22, g1p0a0, ranging from trimester pregnancy iii to nifas and newborn care. Prenatal care includes the monitoring of the mother and fetus condition, including pain management with physical activities such as gym ball. The process of labor operated physiologically with non-pharmacological chaperones (endorphine massage) to relieve pain. Childbirth during which i-iv walked normally. During the nifas period, vital signs are monitored, the uterus uterus uterus uterus uterus, and the education of self-care. The baby is born spontaneously weighing 2900 grams, pb 46 centimeters, and apgar 8/10, then monitored through neonatal visits to ensure exclusive adaptation and breast-feeding. It emphasizes early detection of complications, lowered risk of maternal death, and postnatal family support. The upbringing involves a longitudinal case study design with a qualitative approach.

Abstract

Menstrual pain is typically felt in the lower abdomen and may radiate to the back, thighs, groin, and vulva. This condition may also be accompanied by nausea, diarrhea, and dizziness. During menstruation, adolescent girls often experience fear and negative thoughts, which can intensify the perceived pain. SEFT therapy can be used as a non-pharmacological method to manage pain by combining tapping techniques on specific body points with spiritual elements and the body’s energy system. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of SEFT therapy on menstrual pain among adolescent girls in Mancung Village, Kelapa District, West Bangka Regency in 2025.This research employed a quasi-experimental method with a Pretest–Posttest Control Group Design, involving two groups: an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group consisted of 18 respondents who received SEFT therapy, while the control group included 18 respondents who did not receive the therapy. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, in which participants were selected based on specific criteria relevant to the study.Based on the results, SEFT therapy had a significant effect on reducing menstrual pain (p-value = 0.002) among adolescent girls in Mancung Village, Kelapa District, West Bangka Regency in 2025. It is recommended that adolescent girls apply SEFT therapy before menstruation and especially when experiencing menstrual pain as a non-pharmacological method that is safe and free from side effects.

Abstract

IUD is one of the family planning methods that is classified as a long-term contraceptive method. IUD is a device or object inserted into the uterus that is very effective and can be used by all women of productive age. The achievement of the IUD family planning program in the Kelapa Community Health Center Working Area is still low, especially the PUS using IUD has not experienced a significant increase. The purpose of this study is to determine the factors that influence the low use of IUD in the Kelapa Community Health Center Working Area, West Bangka Regency in 2025. This study used a case control design with a sample of active family planning acceptors in the Kelapa Community Health Center Working Area divided into 2 groups of cases and controls. The case group is 40 IUD family planning acceptors, while the control group is 40 non-IUD family planning acceptors based on medical record data from the Kelapa Community Health Center in 2024. Based on the results of the study, there is a significant relationship between parity (p-value 0.045), education (p-value 0.001), the role of health workers (p-value 0.024), history of contraceptive use (p-value 0.004) on the low use of IUDs in the Kelapa Health Center Working Area in 2025. The suggestion of this study is that health workers can provide counseling training to health cadres so that they can effectively promote the use of IUDs in Posyandu.

Abstract

Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy (BSE) is a key psychological factor determining a mother's success in initiating, maintaining, and completing exclusive breastfeeding practices. Despite the increasing number of studies on maternal BSE, many mothers and fathers still face modifiable barriers in practice, resulting in decreased self-confidence and suboptimal exclusive breastfeeding coverage for six months. This systematic review aims to identify and synthesize individual, interpersonal, and healthcare system factors associated with increased or decreased maternal and paternal BSE from pregnancy to six months postpartum. The review process followed the PRISMA process, with research questions formulated using the PECO (Population, Exposure, Comparator, Outcome) framework. A literature search was conducted in Scopus, PubMed, and Science Direct databases using structured keywords. Included articles were original English-language studies, fully open access, and published between 2021 and 2025, with a step-by-step selection process based on established inclusion and exclusion criteria. The study results indicate that husband support and the quality of the husband-wife relationship are very strong determinants of BSE strengthening, both in mothers and fathers. Furthermore, system factors such as the quality of lactation counseling, the implementation of antenatal and postnatal classes, and interventions that explicitly involve fathers have also been shown to contribute to BSE improvement. These findings confirm that maternal and paternal BSE are modifiable constructs through strengthening individual resources, couple dynamics, and support from the health care system.
