Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan penggunaan Bahasa Indonesia yang baik dalam komunikasi melalui media sosial whatsapp yang dilakukan mahasiswa. Salah satu tanda penggunaan bahasa Indonesia yang baik adalah mahasiswa dapat bertutur secara santun dengan memerhatikan situasi dan kondisi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data adalah teknik dokumentasi. Dalam penelitian ini, ditemukan mahasiswa dapat bertutur santun di dalam media sosial whatsapp kepada dosen. Kesantunan ini ditandai dengan mengucapkan salam atau penggunaan maaf di awal pesan, penggunaan bentuk hormat seperti panggilan Bapak, Pak, dan adanya campur kode berupa penggunaan bentuk bahasa jawa krama.

Abstract

This research is aimed at finding out: (1) whether in general Scaffolded Writing Strategy is more effective than conventional writing for teaching writing; (2) which ones students who have highcritical thinking have better writing skill than those having low critical thinking; and (3) whether or not there is an interaction between teaching techniques and students’ critical thinking. The experimental class was taught by using Scaffolded Writing Strategy whereas the control classwas taught by conventional Writing Strategy. Each class was divided into two groups in whicheach consists of students having high critical thinking and those having low criticalthinking. To gain the data, two instruments were used namely writing test and criticalthinking test. The data were analyzed by using Multifactor Analysis of Variance ANOVA 2x2and Tukey test. Before conducting the ANOVA test, pre-requisite test namely normality andhomogeneity test were conducted. The findings of this research are: (1) Scaffolded Writing Strategy is moreeffective than coventional Writing Strategy to teach writing; (2) The students having highcritical thinking have better writing skill than those having low critical thinking; and (3)There is an interaction between teaching strategies and students’ critical thinking inteaching writing. Therefore, it is recommended for English teachers to implement Scaffolded Writing Strategy inteaching writing because this strategy helps the students to improve writing skill andencourages them to be active learners.

Abstract

Studying morphosyntax is important in the study of linguistics and the topic of morphosyntax is very often considered as difficult to learn. However, several problems still occur in almost every linguistics class including problems from the students’ characteristics, learning materials, teaching strategies, etc. Therefore, the researchers conducted a preliminary study in a linguistic class. Based on the preliminary study, it was discovered that most of the students involved in the study lacked motivation to study linguistic especially in studying morphosyntax and lacked sources to study morphosyntax. The lecturer also had some difficulties in providing morphosyntax material which could motivate the students to learn morphosyntax with ease and which was suitable for the curriculum standards well as the students’ need. Because of those problems, this research aimed to develop supplementary morphosyntax materials for university students which could help them to cope with their problems in studying morphosyntax through providing the easy-to-understand supplementary material which accommodated the students’ needs. It is expected that this research can inspire the lecturers who teach linguistics to become more creative and innovative in providing materials which match the students’ need and syllabus. However, this supplementary material is only one of the alternatives that can be used to assist the learning process. Thus, it can also be combined with other resources. To achieve the aim of this study, the researcher used research and development design by following Borg and Gall model. The researcher did the preliminary study, designed the problem solving and developed the supplementary material since at the end of November 2016. The researcher also conducted expert validations for the product, revised the product draft, applied the product, revised the product again, conducted the second product implementation, had another product validation, and finally had the final product in the form of morphosyntax module.

Abstract

Fakta yang diperoleh penulis pada saat belajar dan mengajar matematika di Perguruan Tinggi menunjukkan bahwa soal-soal matematika yang berhubungan dengan kehidupan sehari-hari masih rendah sehingga tidak dapat menumbuhkembangkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif pada mahasiswa. Tujuan dari penelitian yang ingin dicapai dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan soal Multi Representative Problem Solving Berbasis Contextual Problem pada konsep geometri yang valid dan praktis. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah development research tipe formative research. Prosedur pengembangan soal dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 3 tahapan yaitu : Self Evaluation, Prototyping (validasi, evaluasi dan revisi), Field Test (Uji lapangan). Hasil penelitian ini adalah: (1) pada tahap self evaluating telah dilakukan observasi lapangan dan analisa kebutuhan dengan hasil bahwa sarana di program studi pendidikan matematika STKIP PGRI Nganjuk memadai untuk pengembangan soal multirepresentasi berbasis kontekstual, mahasiswa membutuhkan soal-soal yang menantang untuk mereka selesaikan, dan dosen sangat mendukung adanya pengembangan soal multirepresetasi berbasi kontekstual pada materi geometri; (2) pada tahap prototyping menghasilkan soal hasil validasi ahli yang dinamakan prototype 2; (3) pada tahap field testing, prototype 2 diuji cobakan pada small group yang terdiri dari 6 mahasiswa dengan hasil reliabilitas sebesar 0,82 dan berdasarkan tanggapan mahasiswa bahwa keterbacaan soal sudah baik.

Abstract

This article reports the results of a research dealing with: (1) the students’ writing skill which is taught using picture series, (2) the students’ writing skill which is taught using comic strips, (3) whether comic strips is more effective than picture series in teaching writing to the seventh grade students of a state islamic junior high school in Nganjuk. The research method was experimental method. The subjects of the research were the seventh grade students. There were two classes taken in this research, one as the experimental class and the another one as the control class. Each class consisted of 30 students. The experimental class was taught using comic strips and the control class was taught using picture series. The data were obtained by conducting a test after providing eigth meetings as the treatment for each class. The researcher analyzed the data using t-test to find whether comic strips was more effective than picture series in teaching writing. Based on the data analysis, the research findings are: (1) the students who were taught using picture series had low writing skill, (2) the students who were taught using comic strips had good writing skill, (3) the comic strips is more effective than picture series to teach writing for the seventh grade students of junior high school. It was showed from the computation of the t-test analysis at the significant level of 5% (sig = 0.05). The calculation showed that t value of 5.825 with the significant level of less than 0.05 is 0.000.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the enhancing of students’ writing achievement using clustering technique .The usage of this technique is expected that the students’ achievement in writing skill can increase. The clustering technique used in writing learning of this study uses argumentative essays using various topics in accordance with the focusing understanding and making the essays of writing courses for the fourth semester students, at English Education Program of STKIP PGRI Nganjuk in the academic year of 2017/2018. The total number of students is 18 students . The increasing in students’ achievement can be known by the analysis the result score in this study by using the classroom action research that is intended to find out that the clustering technique can help the students improve and develop their ability in writing skill. The grand of mean score test in preliminary study was 70,5 and cycle I was 75, while the grand mean score in cycle 2 was 87 which showed this present study could be categorized successful because it had exceeded the minimum criteria of writing III.

Abstract

Recently, the teacher can see that the manageable stockpile of researh of just a few decades ago has been replaced by a coordinated, systematic store house of information. Researchers around the world are meeting, talking exchanging findings, comparing data and arriving at some mutually acceptable explanations. In language arts education, or example, teacher trainees are required to study first language acquisition, particularly acquisition after age five. in order to improve their understanding of the task of teaching language skills to native speakers. In foreign language education, most standard texts and curricula now include some introductory material in first language acquisition. The reasons for this are clear. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1)critical thinking skill mahasiswa menggunakan metode konvensional, (2) hasil belajar IPA mahasiswa menggunakan model Means-Ends Analysis (MEA), (3) mengetahui efektif atau tidaknya model pembelajaranMeans-Ends Analysis (MEA) terhadap critical thinking skill mahasiswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen dengan menggunakan desain True Experimental Design Random.Populasi dalam penelitian adalah seluruh mahasiswa pendidikan IPA Semester 1. Pemilihan sampel dilakukan dengan random samplingyaitu dengan cara sampling klaster. Sampelnya adalah semester 1 Pend. IPA sebagai kelas eksperimen sebanyak 13mahasiswa dan semester 3 Pend. Matematika sebagai kelas kontrol sebanyak 20mahasiswa. Variabel bebas dalam penelitian ini adalah model pembelajaran Means-Ends Analysisberbantu modul pembelajaran.Sedangkan variabel terikatnya adalah critical thinking skill mahasiswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode tes dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji t model polled varians dengan melakukan uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas terlebih dahulu. Berdasarkan perhitungan uji hipotesis diperoleh thitung = 4,640 dan ttabel = 2,000. Karena thitung > ttabel, maka H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima. Dengan demikian hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran Means-Ends Analysis berbantu modul pembelajaran efektif terhadap critical thinking skill mahasiswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan jenis letak kesalahan serta penyebab kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa dari kelompok tinggi, sedang, dan rendah dalam identitas trigonometri. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas mahasiswa tinggi, empat mahasiswa kelompok sedang, dan tiga mahasiswa kelompok rendah. Pengambilan subjek menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pendekatan yang dipakai bersifat kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara. Langkah-langkah analisis menggunakan meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan kesimpulan.. Kesimpulan yand dapat diambil setelah analisis data adalah bahwa Kesalahan yang dialami mahasiswa berupa penyelesaian menggunakan cara menjabarkan masing-masing hubungan perbandingan trigonometri dimana berakibat perhitungan menjadi rumit. Rumitnya penyelesaian disebabkan antaralain ketidakmampuan mahasiswa menentukan hubungan antara rumus pada identitas trigonometri; kesalahan menuliskan tanda operasi matematika dan kesalahan menuliskan tanda operasi matematika dan kesalahan dalam melakukan operasi hitung bentuk aljabar, yang disebabkan mahasiswa kurang teliti saat melakukan perhitungan.

Abstract

Upaya yang dapat dilakukan pendidik dalam mewujudkan generasi unggul bangsa menuju Indonesia Emas 2045 salah satunya melalui pendidikan karakter. Fenomena perubahan di abad 21 terhadap kemajuan teknologi yang begitu pesat berpengaruh pada peserta didik. Pendidikan karakter merupakan salah satu filter yang kuat dalam mengatasinya. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu mengimplementasikan pendidikan karakter pada model Project Based Learning melalui sumber belajar smartphone. Nilai-nilai karakter diintegrasikan melalui pembelajaran dengan materi Dasar-dasar IPA. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif dan jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan metode survei terkait persiapan, pelaksanaan dan penilaian pendidikan karakter. Sample penelitian pada 30 mahasiswa Pendidikan IPA Semester Ganjil Tahun Akademik 2017/2018. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui teknik angket, observasi, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsep pendidikan karakter yang diterapkan berpengaruh pada peningkatan nilai pada prestasi sikap peserta didik dalam aspek berpikir kritis, percaya diri, jujur, kerjasama, tanggungjawab, pantang menyerah, dan inovatif. Peserta didik menunjukkan peningkatan perilaku yang dinyatakan dalam indikator pendidikan berkarakter secara konsisten. Pada apek inovatif, peserta didik mampu mengaplikasikan model Project Based Learning dengan membuat “Softcase Smartphone Berkarakter” sebagai pendukung belajar.
