Abstract

The results of a preliminary study found that children's language skills were still low. This problem arose because the learning provided was teacher-centered and limited to LKA. This study aimed to determine the effect of the sociodrama method in stimulating the language skills of children aged 5-6 years. This study used a quantitative research type with an ex post facto design. The subjects in this study were 32 teachers and 32 parents of children at a Surabaya Kindergarten. Data collection in this study was through an online questionnaire distributed using Google Forms. Data analysis in this study used simple linear regression analysis. Based on the calculation results, this study found that the sociodrama method contributed positively to language skills, especially in the number of vocabulary used by children to express their feelings. This indicates that there is an effect of the sociodrama method on children's language skills, where every one percent of the sociodrama method applied increases the child's language ability score. This study has implications for parents and teachers in stimulating children's language skills, especially vocabulary related to expressing expressions and feelings in children.

Abstract

The development of language skills in early childhood is a fundamental aspect that needs to be stimulated from an early age, including in learning the Arabic language. This study aims to examine the role of introducing Arabic letters in comprehensively improving the language abilities of young children. The method used is a literature study by analyzing various national and international scientific articles and journals relevant to the topic of introducing hijaiyah letters and early childhood language development. The findings show that introducing Arabic letters through learning methods suited to the characteristics of early childhood such as learning through play, singing, and multisensory approaches, supported by the use of varied and interactive learning media can enhance children’s language skills, including listening, speaking, early reading, and vocabulary acquisition. Thus, the early introduction of Arabic letters can serve as an important foundation for the development of literacy and language abilities in young children.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of online learning on the social competence of early childhood teachers, focusing on communication skills, collaboration, emotional regulation, and interactions with children and parents. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation from teachers engaged in online professional learning and instructional activities. The findings reveal that online learning provides meaningful opportunities for professional networking, knowledge sharing, and reflective dialogue, which contribute positively to teachers’ communication confidence and collaborative attitudes. However, the transition to digital platforms also reduced informal social interactions and limited the depth of relational connection among teachers, parents, and children. Teachers reported challenges in interpreting emotional cues, sustaining engagement, and building strong interpersonal bonds in virtual environments. The study further shows that the impact of online learning is context-dependent, influenced by technological access, institutional support, and digital literacy levels. Despite initial stress and uncertainty, teachers gradually developed resilience and adaptability in managing online communication. Overall, the results indicate that online learning both enhances and constrains social competence, suggesting the need for balanced integration of digital and face-to-face professional development. Strengthening institutional support and digital communication training is essential to maximize the benefits of online learning for teacher social competence.

Abstract

This article explores children’s language development from the perspective of the Al-Qur’an and contemporary developmental theory. Language is viewed in Islam as a divine gift that shapes thought, identity, and moral behavior. The Qur’an emphasizes that Allah teaches humans the ability to speak (Qur’an 55:1–4), indicating that language development is both natural and God-guided. Drawing on psychological and educational literature, this study highlights that children acquire language through interaction, imitation, and meaningful communication within their social context, particularly the family. Qur’anic narratives, such as the dialogue between Luqman and his son, illustrate the importance of nurturing speech through wisdom, affection, and moral guidance. The discussion reveals that language development in Islamic thought is holistic, integrating emotional, intellectual, social, and spiritual dimensions. Early exposure to positive communication, Qur’anic recitation, and ethical language use supports both linguistic competence and faith development. The article concludes that parents and educators play a central role in shaping language environments that are dialogic, value-oriented, and spiritually enriching. This integrated approach offers an alternative conceptual framework for understanding language development that connects scientific insight with religious wisdom, particularly within Muslim educational contexts.

Abstract

This study explores early childhood education from the perspective of Luqman al-Hakim as presented in Surah Luqman (12–19), emphasizing the integration of spiritual, moral, emotional, and social development within a holistic Islamic framework. Using a qualitative, textual, and thematic analysis approach, the research examines Luqman’s counsel as a model of value-based education rooted in tawhid, gratitude, moral discipline, humility, parental guidance, and social responsibility. The findings reveal that faith formation is positioned as the foundational dimension of a child’s development, shaping worldview, ethical identity, and behavioural orientation. Parental involvement emerges as the central mechanism of early education, characterized by wisdom-based dialogue, compassion, and exemplary conduct. The guidance of Luqman is shown to function as an early model of character education that aligns with contemporary holistic education principles, demonstrating the relevance of classical Islamic pedagogy to modern discourse. This study suggests that Luqman’s educational philosophy offers a meaningful framework for designing spiritually grounded and ethically responsive early childhood programs in Muslim contexts. By restoring the balance between intellectual growth and moral-spiritual formation, Luqman’s perspective contributes a timeless paradigm for nurturing dignified, reflective, and socially responsible children in today’s world.
