Jurnal Ilmu Keolahragaan (JIKOR) is a national scientific journal that focuses on research, innovation, and development in the field of sports science. The journal aims to serve as a platform for researchers, academics, sports practitioners, and policymakers to share research findings and innovative ideas that contribute to the advancement of knowledge in sports, physical health, and athlete development. Articles published in this journal cover a wide range of topics, including sports physiology, biomechanics, sports psychology, sports management, as well as performance enhancement and quality of life improvement through physical activity. The journal also welcomes studies that explore national sports policies, athlete development programs, and the application of emerging technologies to enhance sports performance. The scope of this journal includes, but is not limited to, the following fields: 1. ⁠Exercise Physiology. Studies on the body’s responses and adaptations to physical activity and their implications for performance and health. 2. Sports Biomechanics. Analysis of body movement, sports techniques, and the application of mechanical principles to improve athletic performance. ⁠3. Sports Psychology. Research on motivation, concentration, stress, and mental aspects in training and competition. ⁠Sports Management. Studies on organization, leadership, planning, and policy in the management of sports activities. 4. Physical Education and Coaching. Learning processes, training strategies, and the development of motor skills in education and sports performance. 5. Health and Physical Fitness. Research related to physical activity, healthy lifestyles, community fitness, and disease prevention through sports. 6. Sports Policy and Development. Analysis of public policies, athlete development programs, national sports systems, and sustainable sports development. 7. Sports Technology. Application of modern technology to enhance performance, monitor training, analyze sports data, and develop innovative training methods. 8. Modern Sports. Studies and development of modern sports branches such as e-sports, extreme sports, adventure sports, and innovations in sports technology and industry. 9. Traditional Sports and Local Wisdom. Research on the preservation, development, and revitalization of traditional Indonesian sports, cultural values, and their contribution to character building and national identity. 10. Sport Tourism. Studies on the integration of sports and tourism, development of sports tourism destinations, sports tourism events, and the role of sports in enhancing economic potential and regional promotion.

Abstract

This study presents a comprehensive bibliometric and systematic literature review of global research trends in table tennis performance from 2000 to 2024. Using Scopus and Web of Science databases, a total of 1,247 documents were retrieved and analyzed through VOSviewer and Bibliometrix software. The analysis encompasses publication trends, co-authorship networks, keyword clustering, and citation patterns across 89 countries. Findings reveal a significant acceleration in research output post-2015, with China, Germany, and Japan emerging as dominant contributors. Six major thematic clusters were identified: biomechanics and stroke technique, training methodology and periodization, physiological demands and fitness profiling, psychological factors and mental performance, technology-assisted coaching, and talent identification and youth development. The results indicate a growing emphasis on interdisciplinary approaches combining sports science, data analytics, and artificial intelligence in performance analysis. Emerging themes include wearable sensor applications, machine learning for stroke classification, and mental resilience frameworks. This review provides a structured overview of the field's evolution, identifies research gaps particularly in para-table tennis and long-term athlete development, and offers evidence-based recommendations for future research priorities. The findings are expected to guide scholars, coaches, and sports organizations in advancing the scientific understanding of table tennis performance.
