Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategic role of the Arabic language in enhancing the appeal of local tourism in Aceh, particularly in the development of halal tourism. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a library research approach. Data were obtained from various scholarly sources, including journals, books, articles, and official documents. The findings show that the use of Arabic in tourism promotion, services, and communication can improve the comfort and trust of Muslim tourists, especially from Arabic-speaking countries. One of the regions with significant potential for developing Islamic tourism in Aceh is Subulussalam City. With religious sites such as the tomb of Sheikh Hamzah Fansuri and the Grand Mosque of Subulussalam, the city has an opportunity to emerge as an alternative halal tourism destination. However, the limited Arabic proficiency among local tourism actors remains a key challenge. Therefore, integrating Arabic into vocational education, providing industry-based training, and developing Arabic-language digital promotional media are necessary to support Aceh including Subulussalam as a leading halal tourism destination in Southeast Asia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran strategis bahasa Arab dalam meningkatkan daya tarik pariwisata lokal di Aceh, khususnya dalam konteks pengembangan wisata halal. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi pustaka. Data diperoleh dari berbagai literatur ilmiah, seperti jurnal akademik, buku, artikel, dan dokumen resmi yang relevan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan bahasa Arab dalam promosi, pelayanan, dan komunikasi pariwisata dapat meningkatkan kenyamanan serta kepercayaan wisatawan Muslim, terutama dari negara-negara berbahasa Arab. Salah satu daerah yang memiliki potensi besar dalam pengembangan wisata religi di Aceh adalah Kota Subulussalam. Dengan keberadaan situs-situs Islam seperti makam Syekh Hamzah Fansuri dan Masjid Agung Subulussalam, kota ini memiliki peluang menjadi destinasi wisata halal alternatif. Namun, keterbatasan penguasaan bahasa Arab di kalangan pelaku wisata lokal masih menjadi kendala utama. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan integrasi bahasa Arab dalam pendidikan vokasi, pelatihan industri, serta pengembangan media promosi digital berbahasa Arab guna mendukung posisi Aceh, termasuk Subulussalam, sebagai destinasi wisata halal unggulan di Asia Tenggara.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the challenges of teaching Arabic to young learners at the elementary school level from pedagogical and psycholinguistic perspectives. The research employs a library research method combined with content analysis of relevant literature on Arabic language teaching, pedagogy, and psycholinguistics. The findings reveal that the challenges can be classified into two main dimensions. From a pedagogical perspective, the major issues include overloaded curricula, monotonous traditional methods, limited teacher competence, and the lack of interactive learning media. From a psycholinguistic perspective, the challenges involve children’s cognitive development, low motivation, mother tongue interference, and language anxiety. The discussion emphasizes the need for an integrative approach that combines pedagogical and psycholinguistic strategies, such as curriculum redesign, communicative teaching methods, digital technology integration, and the creation of enjoyable learning environments. The study concludes that the effectiveness of Arabic language learning at the elementary level can be improved by aligning cognitive, affective, and social aspects of learners Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji problematika pengajaran bahasa Arab pada anak usia dasar dengan menggunakan perspektif pedagogis dan psikolinguistik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi pustaka (library research) dengan analisis isi terhadap literatur terkait pengajaran bahasa Arab, teori pedagogi, dan psikolinguistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa problematika pembelajaran mencakup dua dimensi utama. Dari sisi pedagogis, kendala utama meliputi kurikulum yang padat, metode tradisional yang membosankan, keterbatasan kompetensi guru, serta kurangnya media pembelajaran interaktif. Dari sisi psikolinguistik, tantangan mencakup perkembangan kognitif anak, rendahnya motivasi, interferensi bahasa ibu, serta kecemasan berbahasa. Diskusi lebih lanjut menegaskan perlunya pendekatan integratif yang menggabungkan strategi pedagogis dan psikolinguistik, seperti redesain kurikulum, penggunaan metode komunikatif, pemanfaatan teknologi digital, dan penciptaan lingkungan belajar yang menyenangkan. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa efektivitas pembelajaran bahasa Arab pada anak usia dasar dapat ditingkatkan dengan memperhatikan keselarasan antara aspek kognitif, afektif, dan sosial siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the communicative learning model in improving students’ communicative competence, particularly in the aspects of maharah kalām (speaking skills) and maharah istimā’ (listening skills) in Arabic language learning. It also seeks to describe how the communicative model is implemented in the classroom and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors that influence its effectiveness. In addition, this study attempts to explore teachers’ and students’ perceptions of the application of the communicative approach as part of efforts to enhance the quality of Arabic language learning. This research employs a qualitative approach using a library study design supported by primary data obtained from classroom observations, interviews with teachers and students, as well as documentation of learning instruments and classroom activities. Secondary data were collected from theories of Communicative Language Teaching (CLT), textbooks, and relevant previous studies. The data analysis procedures include data reduction, data display, interpretation of findings, and systematic conclusion drawing to obtain a comprehensive overview of the effectiveness of the communicative model in the context of Arabic language learning. The findings reveal that the communicative learning model is effective in improving students’ speaking and listening abilities through activities such as pair work, role-play, language games, group discussions, and the use of contextual media. Students became more confident, active, and able to comprehend meaning in real-life contexts. Both teachers and students demonstrated positive perceptions of this approach as it is more engaging and relevant to communicative needs. However, its effectiveness is influenced by limited vocabulary, feelings of shyness, language anxiety, inadequate learning facilities, and differences in students’ abilities, thereby requiring appropriate differentiation strategies. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas model pembelajaran komunikatif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan komunikatif peserta didik, terutama dalam aspek maharah kalām dan maharah istimā’ pada pembelajaran Bahasa Arab. Penelitian ini juga bertujuan menggambarkan bagaimana implementasi model komunikatif diterapkan di kelas, serta mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor pendukung dan penghambat yang memengaruhi keberhasilannya. Selain itu, penelitian ini berupaya memahami persepsi guru dan peserta didik terhadap penerapan pendekatan komunikatif sebagai bagian dari upaya peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran Bahasa Arab. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi pustaka yang diperkuat data primer dari observasi kegiatan pembelajaran, wawancara guru dan peserta didik, serta dokumentasi perangkat dan aktivitas kelas. Data sekunder diperoleh dari teori-teori Communicative Language Teaching (CLT), buku ajar, dan penelitian-penelitian sebelumnya yang relevan. Prosedur analisis mencakup reduksi data, penyajian data, interpretasi temuan, serta penarikan kesimpulan secara sistematis untuk memperoleh gambaran komprehensif mengenai efektivitas model komunikatif dalam konteks pembelajaran Bahasa Arab.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran komunikatif efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara dan menyimak peserta didik melalui aktivitas berpasangan, role-play, permainan bahasa, diskusi kelompok, dan penggunaan media kontekstual. Peserta didik menjadi lebih percaya diri, aktif, dan mampu memahami makna dalam konteks nyata. Guru dan siswa memiliki persepsi positif terhadap pendekatan ini karena lebih menyenangkan dan relevan dengan kebutuhan komunikasi. Namun demikian, efektivitas pembelajaran dipengaruhi oleh keterbatasan kosakata, rasa malu, kecemasan berbahasa, sarana pembelajaran yang minim, serta perbedaan kemampuan antar peserta didik sehingga memerlukan strategi diferensiasi yang tepat.

Abstract

This study analyzes the act of illocution speech in the poem "Ayyuha al-Nas" by Tamim al-Barghouti with a pragmatic approach based on Searle's speech theory theory. This poem is an important representation of contemporary Arab socio-political poetry that is loaded with messages of leadership, social criticism, and affirmation of cultural identity. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with text analysis, covering five categories: directive, expressive, representative, commissive, and declarative. The results of the study show that this poem is dominated by assertive (representative) and expressive illocution, which functions as a moral invitation, collective awareness, and the formation of social identity. This research expands the pragmatic study of Arabic literature and affirms the position of poetry as a medium of public discourse. Penelitian ini menganalisis tindak tutur ilokusi dalam puisi “Ayyuha al-Nas” karya Tamim al-Barghouti dengan pendekatan pragmatic berbasis teori tindak tutur Searle. Puisi ini merupakan representasi penting dari puisi social-politik arab kontemporer yang sarat dengan pesan kepemimpinan, kritik social, dan afirmasi identitas budaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan analisis teks, mencakup lima kategori: direktif, eskpresif, representative, komisif, dan deklaratif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa puisi ini didominasi tindak ilokusi Asertif (representatitive) dan ekspresif, yang berfungsi sebagai ajakan moral, penyadaran kolektif, dan pembentukan identitas social. Penelitian ini memperluas kajian pragmatic sastra arab dan menegaskan posisi puisi sebagai medium wacana public.

Abstract

This research aims to explain modernism as one of the genres in Arabic literature, which has been more often understood in the framework of periodization than as a literary genre. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with a literature study approach. Data was obtained from various written sources in the form of books and scientific articles that discuss literary genres, modernism, and the development of modern Arabic literature. The results of the study show that modernism is a literary school that was born in response to social, political, and intellectual changes, especially after World War I, which was marked by a humanitarian crisis and a shift in traditional values. In the context of Arabic literature, modernism developed along with the revival (nahḍah), the intensity of contact with the West, the advancement of education, and the role of the press in spreading new ideas. Modernism in Arabic literature is characterized by characteristics such as individualism, experimentation with form, absurdity, symbolism, and formalism. Thus, modernism reflects not only the renewal of literary forms and styles, but also the change in the way Arab writers view the function of literature in modern society. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan modernisme sebagai salah satu aliran dalam sastra Arab, yang selama ini lebih sering dipahami dalam kerangka periodesasi dibandingkan sebagai aliran sastra. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi pustaka. Data diperoleh dari berbagai sumber tertulis berupa buku dan artikel ilmiah yang membahas aliran sastra, modernisme, serta perkembangan sastra Arab modern. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa modernisme merupakan aliran sastra yang lahir sebagai respons terhadap perubahan sosial, politik, dan intelektual, khususnya pasca Perang Dunia I, yang ditandai oleh krisis kemanusiaan dan pergeseran nilai-nilai tradisional. Dalam konteks sastra Arab, modernisme berkembang seiring dengan kebangkitan (nahḍah), intensitas kontak dengan Barat, kemajuan pendidikan, dan peran pers dalam menyebarkan gagasan-gagasan baru. Modernisme dalam sastra Arab ditandai oleh karakteristik seperti individualisme, eksperimen bentuk, absurditas, simbolisme, dan formalisme. Dengan demikian, modernisme tidak hanya mencerminkan pembaruan bentuk dan gaya sastra, tetapi juga perubahan cara pandang sastrawan Arab terhadap fungsi sastra dalam masyarakat modern.
