Abstract

Purpose: Local processed products such as banana chips have high economic potential if developed and marketed effectively. However, limited knowledge of product innovation and marketing strategies remains a major constraint for micro-enterprise actors. This community service activity aimed to enhance the understanding of MSME actors in Widoro Village regarding product development through banana chips innovation, specifically kripik pisang lumer, and its marketing strategies. Method: The program was conducted using a Service Learning approach, where students designed and facilitated socialization activities, production training, and education on branding and marketing. The materials included processing techniques for banana chips with a “lumer” variation, flavor innovation, packaging design, and the utilization of social media and digital marketing for product promotion. Practical Applications: The activity involved PKK members and home-based food processing entrepreneurs. Participants were trained to produce crispy banana chips with higher selling value and were encouraged to identify local and digital market opportunities, as well as to create attractive packaging with simple product labeling. Conclusion: The training successfully improved participants’ knowledge and skills in product innovation and marketing. Banana chips with a “lumer” concept show strong potential to become a superior village product if sustainably developed, supported by collaborative and contextual community engagement.

Abstract

Purpose: Arabic language learning at Darul Huda Islamic Boarding School has traditionally relied on lectures, memorization, and written exercises. To modernize this approach, this mentoring program focused on improving teachers' capacity to utilize interactive digital media, specifically through training on applications like Quizizz, Wordwall, and Liveworksheets. Method: The program employed the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, which involved collaborative stages of joint problem identification, action planning, implementation, evaluation, and reflective learning with the participating teachers. Practical Applications: The training enabled direct application in the classroom. Teachers can now use the digital tools to create interactive quizzes, vocabulary exercises, and self-grading assignments, making the learning process more engaging and efficient for both instructors and students. Conclusion: The integration of digital media has positively transformed Arabic language learning. Students have become more active and enthusiastic, with lessons gaining variety through games and instant feedback. Furthermore, the evaluation of learning outcomes has become significantly faster, more objective, and easier for teachers to manage.

Abstract

Purpose: This research aims to address the low proficiency in Qur’anic literacy among equivalence education students at PKBM Alfasalam by implementing and evaluating an applicative and contextual Arabic language learning method. Method: This study employs a qualitative descriptive method. Primary data were collected through structured observations and in-depth interviews with students, while secondary data were obtained from a review of relevant journals and program documents. Data analysis followed a thematic approach to identify key patterns and outcomes. Findings: The implementation of practice-based training, utilizing fun learning and contextual teaching and learning (CTL) approaches over a two-month period, resulted in measurable improvements. Pre- and post-activity assessments showed a significant increase in students' ability to read the Qur’an with proper tajwid. Observational data confirmed enhanced engagement and accuracy in recitation. Conclusion: The activity concluded with positive feedback from students, tutors, and guardians. The results indicate that the applicative-contextual method effectively improves Qur’anic literacy skills. It is recommended that such programs continue and expand to reinforce learning outcomes, with the long-term goal of enabling students to not only recite correctly but also comprehend and apply the teachings in daily life.
