Abstract

This study aims to analyze community perceptions of the performance of the Golkar Party in Mojotrisno Village, Mojoagung District, Jombang Regency, as well as the factors influencing these perceptions. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that community perceptions of the Golkar Party tend to be unfavorable, as reflected in the limited public understanding of the party’s roles, functions, and programs. The community tends to recognize the party more in symbolic and historical terms rather than in substantive aspects. This condition is influenced by limited access to information, low levels of political interaction, and the lack of party outreach and presence at the local level. In addition, low public trust, political competition, and the dynamics of digitalization further reinforce these perceptions. The findings reveal a gap in political communication between the party and the community, which contributes to low levels of political participation. Therefore, strengthening communication strategies, enhancing the party’s presence at the local level, and adopting more adaptive approaches are necessary to improve public understanding and engagement in political life

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the resistance of the Kaplongan community in Indramayu against the Japanese occupation government in 1944, with particular emphasis on the role of kyai (Islamic religious leaders) as socio-religious leaders. The resistance was not solely triggered by economic factors, particularly the compulsory rice procurement policy imposed by the Japanese authorities, but was also influenced by socio-political and religious factors. This research employs a historical method with a historical-sociological approach through literature review and analysis of various historical sources. The findings reveal that the kyai played a crucial role in fostering collective awareness among the community to oppose Japanese policies, which were perceived as oppressive and contrary to Islamic values. Prominent figures such as K.H. Arsyad, H. Aksan, and Kyai Sidik emerged as central leaders who successfully consolidated peasant resistance against Japanese colonial policies. The Kaplongan resistance demonstrates that religion functioned not only as a source of spiritual guidance but also as a foundation of social and political legitimacy within anti-colonial movements. This event represents a significant form of local resistance, illustrating the close relationship between religious leadership and rural social movements during the Japanese occupation period in Indonesia.

Abstract

Early marriage remains a social issue in Moloku Village, West Gane District, South Halmahera Regency. Adolescents who marry before the age of 19 often lack the physical, psychological, social, and economic readiness required for married life. This study aims to identify the factors contributing to early marriage among adolescents in the village. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, with data collected through interviews. The participants consisted of six adolescents who married at the age of 19 years or younger. The findings indicate that early marriage is influenced by economic difficulties, premarital pregnancy, low educational attainment, inadequate parental supervision, free social interaction, and socio-cultural influences. The most dominant factors were premarital pregnancy and family economic conditions. The study also identified regional, environmental, and spatial factors, as the community is characterized by a traditional and relatively homogeneous environment that limits social interactions within a confined spatial context. It is concluded that early marriage results from interconnected internal and external factors. Therefore, continuous education, stronger parental involvement, and increased awareness of the consequences of early marriage are essential to reduce its occurrence among adolescents.

Abstract

The proliferation of digital technology and increasing online media consumption have fundamentally transformed human social interaction patterns. This study aims to analyze the phenomenon of social deconditioning—the weakening of face-to-face social stamina resulting from reduced exposure to embodied human interaction—and to formulate evidence-based recovery strategies. A systematic literature review was conducted on sources from social neurobiology, communication psychology, behavioral epidemiology, and public health science published between 2012 and 2024. Findings reveal: (1) face-to-face interaction activates neurological and hormonal systems that cannot be fully replicated by digital communication; (2) declining proportions of in-person interaction in daily life produce adaptive behavioral changes including functional social anxiety, difficulty sustaining conversational attention, and post-social fatigue; (3) this phenomenon represents an adaptive response rather than a personality disorder and is reversible; and (4) gradual recovery strategies based on incremental social exposure are effective in rebuilding social stamina. This study contributes to understanding the impact of digital transformation on population social health and offers an intervention framework applicable at both individual and community levels.

Abstract

The phenomenon of Indonesian migrant workers is one that confronts structural complexities in Indonesia, both in the realm of regulatory issues and in the realm of social protection. By 2025, the number of migrant workers in Indonesia is projected to reach 296,948, with the majority employed in the domestic sector as household workers. This study uses a literature review to examine the issues facing migrant workers. Several analyses have emerged regarding the situation of migrant workers, including the weakness of regulations due to overlapping laws, limited social policies—particularly regarding social protection, social security, old-age security, and social policies for migrant workers within the realm of diplomacy aimed at ensuring their social protection. Additionally, issues such as poverty and socio-economic limitations in education also influence the situation of Indonesian migrant workers, particularly regarding the “role set” of the work they perform, which often involves quite complex dynamics—especially regarding differing role distributions and and conflicts. Consequently, issues regarding the social protection of migrant workers require solutions based on structural analysis—encompassing regulatory aspects and social policies for migrant workers—as well as solutions rooted in addressing the fundamental problems faced by Indonesian migrant workers.
