Abstract

This study aims to identify the principal's role as a leader and the madrasah principal's efforts in overcoming challenges at MI Pesantren Anak Sholeh Baitul Qur'an Ponorogo. Using a case study approach with qualitative methods, the research involved in-depth observations and interviews with the principal and teaching staff, as well as analysis of madrasah administrative records to ensure data validity. Analysis was conducted using Miles and Huberman's interactive model, including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the madrasah principal has a strategic role in motivating teachers, developing the vision and mission of the madrasah, and managing learning administration innovatively. The transformational leadership approach applied proved effective in creating harmonious collaboration among staff, teachers and students. The findings indicate that the role of the madrasah principal supports mobilizing, guiding, encouraging, coaching and protecting the school community. Despite facing challenges such as limited resources and time management, the madrasah principal managed to overcome these obstacles through collaboration strategies, the use of simple technology and teacher professional development. This research provides important insights into how the role of the madrasah principal as a leader can improve the effectiveness of learning administration in madrasah, as well as a practical reference for other madrasah principals in improving the quality of education in the institution.

Abstract

Teacher professional competence is a crucial factor in supporting the success of the learning process. The MGMP serves as a forum for discussion, pedagogical skill enhancement, and ongoing professional development for teachers. This study employed a qualitative approach with data collection techniques including in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation studies. The results indicate that the MGMP significantly contributes to improving teacher competence through training programs, collaborative learning, and evaluation of learning practices. Furthermore, challenges in implementing the MGMP program were identified, such as limited time and resources. This study recommends strengthening institutional support to optimize the MGMP's role in enhancing teacher professionalism in Islamic boarding schools. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with teachers and MGMP administrators, observations of MGMP activities, and analysis of related documents. The results indicate that the MGMP significantly contributes to improving teacher professional competence through various programs, such as training and workshops, focus group discussions, and the development of learning materials. Teachers involved in MGMP activities demonstrated improved abilities in developing Lesson Implementation Plans (RPP), implementing innovative learning methods, and effectively evaluating student learning outcomes. This study provides insight into the important role of MGMP in improving the professional quality of teachers in Islamic boarding school-based educational institutions. These findings are expected to serve as a basis for policy-making and program development that supports teacher competency improvement, particularly in Islamic high schools and Islamic boarding school environments.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of the principal's transformational leadership in implementing a parenting program to improve student quality at MTS Permata, Muneng Village. This study used a qualitative method with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and document studies. Data were analyzed based on the theory of Miles and Huberman, which includes three steps: data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The main theories used are the transformational leadership theory by Bass and Avolio (1994) and the parental involvement theory by Epstein (2011). The research subjects involved 1 principal as the main informant and 15 parents as participants. The results showed that the principal's transformational leadership plays a strategic role in building collaborative relationships with parents through a parenting program. This program includes regular communication sessions, parenting skills training, and student development evaluations. The implications of this program create increased parental participation in the educational process, as well as improving student quality in academic and non-academic aspects. This study recommends strengthening collaborative-based parenting programs to support the sustainability of educational quality.

Abstract

The leadership of the kiai in curriculum development at the "Wali Songo" Ngabar Islamic Boarding School plays a crucial role in creating an integrated and relevant education system for the Industrial Revolution 5.0 era. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data triangulation through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results show that the kiai act as leaders, educators, and role models in developing a curriculum that integrates Islamic values and the formal curriculum. Strategies implemented include regular evaluation, the use of digital technology, and collaboration with national and international educational institutions. Curriculum implementation is also supported by adequate infrastructure, creating synergy between academic needs and character development. This study emphasizes the importance of responsive leadership in addressing the challenges of education in Islamic boarding schools in the modern era.

Abstract

The function of leadership within Islamic educational institutions serves as a crucial element for the progression of these establishments. As a leader, every policy enacted will greatly influence the caliber of the staff. This study endeavors to analyze the leadership function within Islamic educational institutions utilizing a qualitative research approach. Data is collected through observations and interviews. The enactment of character education has been stipulated by Law Number 20 of 2003 regarding the National Instruction Framework, which asserts that "The capability of National education aims to cultivate skills and shape the character and cultural identity of individuals a worthy country to educate the nation’s life seeks to foster the potential of learners to become dependable individuals who submit to God Almighty". This research compiles data from a variety of pertinent literature sources, including academic databases, journals, books, and articles. The outcomes revealed that the leadership role within Islamic educational institutions holds substantial importance. Leaders in these organizations are tasked with possessing wisdom and local knowledge. They also supervise the administration of Islamic educational institutions, ensuring that the curriculum is in accordance with Islamic values, nurturing student character, and cultivating robust relationships with the community. Leaders are essential in improving the standard of education in Islamic educational institutions. They also play a significant part in fostering a more Islamic student character and reinforcing religious values while navigating the challenges and issues faced in managing Islamic education institutions, including curriculum-related concerns, financial issues, and the teaching staff.

Abstract

This study aims to improve teachers' competence in developing syllabus and lesson plans through academic supervision and training workshops at primary and junior secondary school levels. The method used was School Action Research (SSR) in two cycles. Results showed significant improvement in teachers' skills. At the primary level, the percentage of syllabus completion increased from 52.63% in the first cycle to 89.47% in the second cycle, while the completion of lesson plan preparation increased from 36.82% to 89.47%. At the junior high school level, the gradual implementation of workshops also showed an increase in the quality of syllabus and lesson plan preparation from fair to very good, as well as increasing teacher activity and understanding in developing learning tools systematically. These results confirm that academic supervision and structured training can effectively improve the quality of teachers' lesson planning. Furthermore, education does not only aim to transfer knowledge, but also to form a whole individual who understands the psychosocial context, culture, and has piety, nationalism, and a strong personality. The educational process must be able to develop the potential of students in a sustainable manner, both intellectually, spiritually, socially and emotionally. Therefore, the role of teachers is crucial in designing a meaningful learning process. Without good planning and adequate teacher competence, holistic educational goals will not be achieved optimally.

Abstract

Educational leadership plays a crucial role in building an organizational culture that supports academic goals and Islamic values within educational institutions. This study aims to analyze the educational leadership behavior in enhancing organizational culture at Pesantren Anak Sholeh (PAS) Baitul Qur'an. The research method employed is a qualitative approach using interview techniques, observation, and document analysis. The findings reveal that the principal at PAS Baitul Qur'an adopts transformational and participative leadership styles, focusing on strengthening the Islamic vision, empowering teachers, and fostering collaboration with various stakeholders. The school's organizational culture is characterized by Islamic norms, collective worship routines, and a spirit of teamwork. However, challenges such as resistance to change and limited resources remain significant. Strategies to address these challenges include continuous training, effective conflict management, and regular evaluations of organizational culture implementation. The study concludes that the educational leadership behavior at PAS Baitul Qur'an is effective in fostering an organizational culture that supports the development of Islamic character and students' academic achievement. Recommendations are provided to enhance leadership programs and improve facilities that support organizational culture.

Abstract

The quality of leadership determines the success of an institution or organization. So a leader must be able to manage, administer and move an organization effectively and appropriately. A leader must also be wise in making every decision. Leadership is a person's ability to convince and influence other people so that they voluntarily work and are invited to carry out their will or ideas. The aim of this research is to examine the application of Islamic leadership values ​​in the school environment which will have an impact on the formation of an educational culture, and the challenges that occur when the application of Islamic leadership values ​​at SDN Tegallega 2 Bogor is implemented. The research method used is a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The location of the research was at SDN Tegallega 2 Bogor. Data was obtained by interviewing the principal of SDN Tegallega 2 Bogor and observing the school studied. The research results show that the leadership at SDN Tegallega 2 Bogor has Islamic leadership values ​​that are in accordance with the teachings of the Islamic religion. The criteria and characteristics that a leader needs to have are fairness, amanah (responsibility), fathonah (intelligent), tabligh (conveying), shiddiq (honest), and uswah (exemplary). Islamic leadership values ​​such as honesty, responsibility, justice, deliberation and caring are important guidelines for overcoming various challenges and problems. This is in accordance with the teachings of the Islamic religion which is guided by the Al-Quran and also the example set by the Prophet Muhammad SAW in leading.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the challenges of implementing Islamic education at the Aisyiyah Ponorogo Integrated Blind Orphanage. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type. Data collection was obtained through interviews with education administrators and two blind students at the Aisyiyah Ponorogo Integrated Blind Orphanage. This research shows that there are two types of challenges to Islamic education at the Aisyiyah Ponorogo Integrated Home for the Blind, namely, challenges to infrastructure and inclusive learning methods. In terms of infrastructure, new iqras are not available and there is a lack of classrooms for carrying out learning. The teacher's inability to read and write Arabic braille and how to teach blind students also influences the learning process at the orphanage.

Abstract

Infrastructure facilities are an important place for continuity in Islamic educational institutions. This research aims to: 1) analyze the planning, maintenance, and inventory and elimination of infrastructure facilities to support the learning process, 2) get to know more about the management of financing infrastructure facilities of Islamic educational institutions. This research method uses a qualitative approach, this type of study is a field study with interview techniques, observation, documentation. This study found that optimizing the management of costs and infrastructure facilities is very important to support the sustainability and improvement of the quality of Islamic educational institutions such as implementation carried out sequentially from planning, maintenance, inventorying, and elimination which is carried out properly and regularly. Integration with Islamic values can also be a distinctive feature and advantage of Islamic educational institutions.
