Abstract

Loan repayment performance is a critical factor in ensuring the sustainability of microfinance institutions and financial inclusion initiatives, particularly in post-conflict settings where economic and social structures are often fragile. This study aims to examine the key determinants influencing borrowers’ loan repayment behavior in post-conflict environments. Using a quantitative approach, the research analyzes various socioeconomic, institutional, and loan-related factors that may affect repayment performance. A logit regression model is employed to identify the probability of successful loan repayment based on variables such as borrower income, education level, loan size, business experience, access to financial services, and institutional support. The findings indicate that borrower income stability, financial literacy, and effective institutional monitoring significantly improve repayment performance. Conversely, economic instability, limited access to markets, and weak financial management practices tend to increase the risk of loan default. These results highlight the importance of strengthening borrower capacity, improving financial literacy programs, and enhancing institutional support mechanisms to ensure sustainable credit systems in post-conflict regions.

Abstract

Entrepreneurship has become an important driver of economic growth, innovation, and employment generation in many countries. One of the key factors influencing the emergence of new businesses is entrepreneurial interest, which reflects an individual’s motivation, attitude, and readiness to engage in entrepreneurial activities. Understanding how entrepreneurial interest shapes business formation intention is therefore essential for promoting sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystems. This study aims to examine the relationship between entrepreneurial interest and business formation intention using a Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach. A quantitative research design was employed by collecting data through structured questionnaires distributed to respondents with potential involvement in entrepreneurial activities. The study analyzes several dimensions of entrepreneurial interest, including motivation, risk-taking attitude, creativity, and opportunity recognition, and investigates their influence on individuals’ intentions to establish new businesses. The PLS-SEM method was used to evaluate both the measurement model and the structural relationships among variables. The results indicate that entrepreneurial interest has a significant and positive effect on business formation intention. Individuals with higher levels of entrepreneurial motivation, innovative thinking, and willingness to take calculated risks are more likely to demonstrate strong intentions to start a business. In addition, opportunity recognition and personal confidence in entrepreneurial capabilities further strengthen this relationship. These findings suggest that fostering entrepreneurial interest through education, training programs, and supportive institutional environments can significantly enhance the likelihood of new business creation.

Abstract

Local fiscal capacity plays a crucial role in supporting regional development and improving public service delivery. One of the important sources of local government revenue in many decentralized fiscal systems is the Land and Building Rights Acquisition Tax (BPHTB), which is imposed on the transfer of land and property ownership rights. Effective management and collection of BPHTB are therefore essential to strengthen local fiscal sustainability and enhance regional financial independence. This study aims to analyze how effective BPHTB tax collection contributes to strengthening local fiscal capacity. This research employs a quantitative and descriptive approach by examining various indicators related to tax administration, taxpayer compliance, and revenue performance. Data are obtained from official financial reports, tax administration records, and relevant government publications. The analysis focuses on evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of BPHTB collection mechanisms, including administrative procedures, monitoring systems, and institutional capacity in managing local tax revenues. The findings indicate that effective BPHTB tax collection significantly contributes to increasing local government revenue and improving fiscal capacity. Efficient tax administration, improved taxpayer compliance, and the implementation of transparent and accountable tax management systems are key factors in enhancing BPHTB revenue performance.

Abstract

The skincare industry has experienced significant growth in recent years, driven by increasing consumer awareness of personal care and product quality. In this competitive market, consumer perceptions play a crucial role in shaping purchasing decisions. Among the various factors influencing consumer behavior, country of origin and brand image are considered important determinants that affect how consumers evaluate skincare products and form purchase intentions. This study aims to analyze the influence of country of origin and brand image on consumer purchase intention in the skincare market. This research adopts a quantitative approach by collecting primary data through structured questionnaires distributed to consumers who are familiar with skincare products. The study examines how perceptions related to the origin of a product and the overall image of the brand influence consumer trust, product evaluation, and ultimately their intention to purchase. The data are analyzed using statistical methods to evaluate the relationships among the research variables and to determine the extent to which country of origin and brand image contribute to shaping consumer purchase intentions. The findings indicate that both country of origin and brand image have a significant influence on consumer purchase intention. Products originating from countries perceived to have strong reputations in the cosmetics industry tend to generate higher levels of consumer trust and positive product evaluations. Similarly, a strong and favorable brand image enhances consumer confidence and increases the likelihood of purchase.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the excellent service practices applied by Bank Tapin employees and their influence on customer experience, perception, and trust. The method used is a qualitative approach with a type of case study through observation techniques, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that excellent service at Bank Tapin in general has been running well, characterized by a friendly attitude, effective communication, empathy, and the ability to build positive interpersonal relationships with customers. Customer experiences and perceptions of service quality also tend to be positive, especially in the initial impression of service, information transparency, and transaction security guarantees. However, there are still several obstacles, such as long queue times, limited facilities, less than optimal digital services, and uneven employee competence in understanding complex banking products. The implementation of excellent service has proven to have a significant effect on building and maintaining customer trust, where professional attitude, service reliability, and transparency are the main factors. Despite some shortcomings, the quality of humanistic interaction is able to maintain the level of customer trust. Therefore, improvements are needed in the operational, technological, and human resource competencies to optimize service quality and strengthen customer loyalty in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of improving the quality of service and reliability of electricity distribution at PT PLN (Persero) UP3 Mataram in the midst of increasing public demands for effective, efficient, and customer satisfaction-oriented public services. Total Quality Management (TQM) is one of the management approaches that is considered to be able to improve the quality of organizational performance through continuous improvement, customer focus, employee involvement, and overall quality control. This study aims to analyze the effect of the implementation of TQM on the performance of the distribution department at PT PLN (Persero) UP3 Mataram and to find out the extent to which the implementation of TQM is able to improve the quality of electricity distribution services. The implementation of TQM affects the achievement of distribution performance indicators and service effectiveness at PT PLN (Persero) UP3 Mataram which is the main focus of this research question.  A descriptive qualitative approach was applied in this study and data collection techniques were carried out through observation and interview activities as well as documentation and literature studies. The stages of data reduction and data presentation and conclusion drawing are used systematically to conduct data analysis. The positive impact on improving the performance of the distribution section is shown by the results of the research on the implementation of TQM. The decrease in the value of SAIDI from 161.65 to 130.52 minutes/customer and the decrease in the value of SAIFI from 2.06 to 1.79 times/customer as well as the decrease in the value of ENS from 728.22 MWh to 240.82 MWh show clear evidence of the improvement in operational performance. A significant decline was also experienced by negative feedback ratings and repeated complaints of disturbances in the field. Increasing operational effectiveness and the quality of electricity distribution services can be achieved optimally through the application of TQM principles such as continuous improvement and customer focus as well as teamwork and consistent quality control based on these scientific findings. The conclusion of this study shows that the implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) has a positive effect on improving the performance of the distribution department at PT PLN (Persero) UP3 Mataram. The implementation of TQM not only improves the quality of service and reliability of electricity distribution, but also strengthens customer satisfaction and operational efficiency of the company. This research contributes to the development of quality management and operational management science, especially in the public service and electricity sectors. The next study is recommended to use a quantitative approach or mixed method with a wider coverage of the area and add other variables such as organizational culture, leadership, and digital quality management to obtain more comprehensive result.
