Abstract

Catch that was landed on Beach Fisheries Port Tawang (PPP Tawang) on 2011 reached 106,200 kg. The aims this research were to know fluctuations of mackerel the price the daily and monthly, to know and analyze of price level determination mackerel fish (y) with each variable price setter mackerel fish was production quantities mackerel fishfish (x1), the number of seller auction participants (x2), fish size (x3) ,fish quality (x4), number of substitute fish production (x5), fish production substitutes rates (x6), and to know mackarel distribution near Beach Fisheries Port Tawang (PPP Tawang), Kendal Residence, Central Java Province. Research method used quantitative descriptive by observation techniques using fishermen, seller, and fish processor interview. Data analyzis used Cobb-Douglass method, with the equation Ln Y = 5.929 – 0,044 X1 + 0,249 X2 + 0,317 X3 + 0,100 X4 + 0,036 X5 + 0,087 X6 . Regression analyzing variable X1, X2, X3, X4, X5 and X6 to F hit results variable was 5.580 which is the value was bigger than F table on interval 5% was 2,510. It means x1, x2, x3, x4, x5 and x6 had real influence to mackerel fish price in Beach Fisheries Port Tawang ( PPP Tawang). Mackerel distribution line from producer by Beach Fisheries Port Tawang (PPP Tawang) to consumer was short enough because it involved by few people. They are grocier seller, fish processor, big seller, and small seller. The destination were Kendal area until Semarang, Cirebon, Cianjur, Jakarta, and Lampung.

Abstract

Cangkol waters is one of Cirebon’s area which has potensial of demersal fish has about 249,66 ton/year. Lutjanus argentimaculatus fish is one of demersal species the important economic and be the main target of the arrest. The success for fishing by using hand line does not only dependent on the use of the hook, but also bait that used to obtain the expected result. The study was conducted by hand line with the hook and bait treatments are different. The aims of the research are to know the effect of hook constructions (single and sequential double), the effect of bait types (live shrimp and pieces of squid) and the presence or absence of interaction between two factors towards the number of catch Lutjanus argentimaculatus. The method which are used in this research is experimental fishing method. The result of this research showing that the differences of hook construction effect to the catch, which is the sig values number of the catch are (0.000) <0.05 H0 is rejected, while the use of different types of bait did not effect to the catch, which is the sig values number of the catch are (0.109)> 0.05 H0 accepted. There is no interaction between the two factors are different bait and hook. So, the conclusion is that the use of single hook with yellow prawn bait although squid is better than using the sequential double.

Abstract

Territorial waters of Indramayu District is part of Indonesia territorial waters, which became the basis of fishing activities for fishermen. Indramayu district had HDI score of 69.45 in 2011. This reflects low quality of people at district of Indramayu. The purposes of this research was to analyze welfare level of Gill net owners and labours at Karangsong village Indramayu district with measuring the Human Development Index (HDI) and analyzed welfare levels in terms of the income Gill net owners and labours at Karangsong village Indramayu District. Research was conducted in April-May 2012. Research method used descriptive method, data collected includes welfare indicator which measures life expectancy (e0), measure the length of the average school population, mean years of schooling (MYS) and the literacy rate (Lit), and measure the economic capacity of Gill net fishermen reflected the value of purchasing power parity index (PPP). The results showed significant differences between the welfare level of Gill net owners and labour at Karangsong village Indramayu District. Life expectancy index Gill net owners and labours 62.15; education index owners and labour, respectively for 88.32 and 75.87; owners income index 98.27 and 61.69 for the labours, and IPM for the owner at 82.69 (high category), while HDI labours were 66.35 (middle high category).

Abstract

A strategy to overcome the lack of income obtained from the primary job as gillnet fishermen, households fishermen in the Asinan village have some alternative jobs such as agricultural labour, construction workers, farming, goat farming, trade, and ranching of fish cages. The purpose of this research was to analyze the level of primary and alternative income gillnet fishermen households in Asinan, Bawen, Semarang and was to determine the technical aspects of gillnet fishing gear which is used by fishermen in Asinan. The research method were descriptive method and case study. The sampling method was census by interviewing 64 fishermen as respondents. The results showed that the average primary income of gillnet fishermen per year was Rp 9,600,063.00 and the average alternative income of gillnet fishermen per year was Rp 7,129,307.00. The maximum average alternative income was Rp 31,734,333.00 per year obtained from trade. The minimum average alternative income was Rp 3,198,890.00 per year obtained from goat farming. Webbing was made from nylon (PA) monofilament with diameter 0.12 mm; length 15 m; mesh size 7.62 cm (3 inches); and height 78.6 cm. The net had 91.44 cm stretched height with 12 of vertical and 400 of horizontal meshes. Hanging ratio value was 0.50 and 0.50 for shortening. Head rope was made from PA monofilament with diameter 0.5 mm, and length 15.3 m per piece. Sinker line was made from PE multifilament with diameter 0.2 mm and length 15 m per piece. The floats were made from water hyacinth material. Sinkers used were made from circular iron wire with 20 gr weight and diameter 7.7 cm. Total sinkers were 100 pieces and mounted on every 20 meshes.

Abstract

Mini purse seine is a productive fishing gear in catching pelagic fishes. Potencial resources utilization could be increased by adding the size length and width of the nets. Therefore it needed to be analyzed the feasibility rate of those mini purse seines. The purposes of this research were to analyze study feasibility aspect (PP, R/C ratio, NPV, and IRR) of mini purse seine with nets different size in PPI Ujungbatu Jepara Regency and to analyze nets different size impact against NPV, R/C ratio and IRR of mini purse seines in PPI Ujungbatu Jepara Regency. The method used in this research was descriptive method by case study and data was collected through direct observation, interviewed, and literature study. The results of feasibility aspect obtained that marine fisheries business using mini purse seine with length 450 m (width 90 m) the average values of PP, R/C ratio, NPV, and IRR were 2,22 years, 1,17, Rp.454.423.108,64, and 38,56%. Mean while in marine fishing business using mini purse seine with length of the nets 360 m (width 75 m) The analysis results of feasibility aspect obtained that the average values of PP, R/C ratio, NPV, and IRR were 2,25 years, 1,16, Rp.394.713.135,15, and 38,33%. From those analysis concluded that fishing business using mini purse seine with different size of nets in PPI Ujungbatu Jepara Regency are feasible.

Abstract

Lobster (Panulirus sp.) is one of the export commodities from fisheries which gives a quite high contribution of fisheries world, and has an important economic value. This high economic value are encouraging fisherman to catch lobster continuously. One of the fishing gear that can be operated is krendet. Krendet is a fishing gear that operated passively by the use of bait as atracted lobster. The purpose of this research are to understand and analyze the effect of different form of krendet, length of immersion differences and also the interaction between forms and length immersion towards the catches of lobster in cilacap water boundaries. The materials used were boat as transportation, krendet, and GPS to determain position. The method used in the research is experimental fishing method with 16 repetitions and 4 times treatments. The analyze of the data was used in this research normality test and ANOVA test with SPSS 17.0. The result showed the used of krendet forms and the length of immersion differences affected to the catches where the square shape and 12 hours of immersion are giving more catches. There is no interaction effect between krendet forms and length of immersion towards the catches of lobster.

Abstract

The development pattern of Eretan Wetan Coastal Fishery Port needs to be adjust to the development of fishery activities. The aims of this research are to analyze operational level PPP Eretan Wetan and analyze the level of utilization of basic and functional facilities. As soon as formulating to strategies building the operational capacity of PPP Eretan Wetan. The used method is by using the descriptive survey method with case study. Data are collected through observation, interviews, documentation and collected data from PPP Eretan Wetan. Data collection process is limited only in the periode of 2007 – 2011. SWOT analysis is used to determine the operational capacity. From the research result, it can be found that the level operational and utilization rate of facilities in PPP Eretan Wetan not all used optimally, can be seen from the use of the pier, which is 12,5% and 27% auction house. Strategy to increase the operational capacity of P PP Eretan Wetan is: continue the development of PPP aggressively, quickly add basic amenities, functional and support that has not been met, groove cruise facilities should frequently in dredging due to silting, providing docking facilities and ice plants; addition of fleet fishing vessels, so that fish production can be optimized, increasing the quality of human resources through training and empowerment of fishermen and baskets, Developing cooperation with the fish processing industry; additional support facilities and improved quality of fish marketing facilities to support the marketing of fish, and increase the number of environmentally friendly fishing gear that accordance with the target economically important fisheries.

Abstract

Sungailiat Fishery Port type B was the center of fishing activities in Bangka Belitung. This was supported by the location of its strategic location that has the potential to own a good fhishery resources.the era of decentralization was entered by indonesia,each district was required to be able to support their own region to optimize the full potential of the area both real and non real sector. Therefore, in the fisheries sector,was founded Sungailiat Fishery Port Type B.The study aims to identification urgency the condition of facilities, to analyzed develovment of optimization facilities, and analyzed appropriate strategies to be applied in the development of PPNS with current condition. The method was used in this study was descriptive sampling and purposive sampling analysis of the utilization rate of facilities and SWOT analysis were used in this study. The result was obtained that the existing facilities at the Sungailiat Fishery Port type B was still good condition and still proper to used, with the cruise line utilization rate 116%, 140% harbor pool, pier 92%,5 0% TPI. From these result could be concluded than the optimization of basic facilities and fully functional facilities have not been utilized optimally. While the result was obtained from the application of SWOT analysis S-O strategy (Strength-Opportunity) which means that the strategy in its application to use force to take advantage of an opportunity.

Abstract

The success of the capture and processing and marketing of fish caught in Tegalsari Port Fishery should be supported by the provision of adequate infrastructure and basic facilities both functional and supporting facilities at the Tegalsari Port of Fisheries fishing port, it is necessary to srtategi / analysis can provide input as to the priority should be to get the development of the more leverage. This study aims to determine the condition of basic and functional facilities in the PPP Tegalsari, analyzing the utilization rate of basic and functional facilities in the PPP Tegalsari, and provide strategies to increase utilization of PPP Tegalsari. The research was conducted using descriptive method by direct observation in the field, and the respondents from those who know the exact circumstances and problems surrounding environment. As for analyzing strategies to improve utilization of the port facilities are basic and functional analysis method used and the level of utilization of SWOT analysis. Facilities at the port level utilization was found that 81.6% of land Tegalsari PPP, groove cruise 40,3%, 17,1% harbor expansive pool, pool depth port 68,75 %, 166,9% dock , TPI 75,23%, 44.33% and a parking area. Strategies to increase the utilization optimization can be done include port facilities, increase yield, type and value of production of fishing effort; maintenance and development of basic amenities, functional, and supporting PPP Tegalsari; improving the quality of human resources through training and empowerment of fishermen and baskets, Developing cooperation with industry fish processing, and the addition of environmentally friendly fishing gear in accordance with the target economically important fisheries

Abstract

Tawang waters have a high potential of fisheries which one of them is short bodied mackerel fishery. Potential sustainable utilization of mackerel in Kendal began to dominate the total production each year exceeds the number of other species of annual fish production as in the year 2009 with 55.222 kgs, in 2010 with 98.263 kgs and 81.027 kgs in 2011. The use of gill nets has been known for a long time by fishermen in Coastal Fishery Port of Tawang for catching short bodied mackerel, according to the fisherman of Tawang, the fish catched using mesh size 2” gill net is perceived less optimal for them. The goal of this research is to find out and analyze the use of different mesh sizes, the different of the way short bodied mackerel caught and the interaction between the mesh size and catching way to the short bodied mackerel (Scomber negletus) caught in Tawang Waters. This research was held from September to October 2012 in Tawang Waters, Kendal District, Central Java Province. This research uses experimental fishing method. The data analysis uses one Way Anova with the support of SPSS 19.0 program. The result of this research shows that the use of different mesh size affects to the fish catch, that mesh size 1.75” scores higher. There is a significant difference in amount and weight of caught fish by gilled and entangled way from the total short bodied mackerel (Scomber negletus) caught, which more fish caught by using gilled than entangled way. There is also an interaction effect between the difference of mesh size 1.75” and 2” and the difference way of caught using gilled and entangled to the catch of short bodied mackerel.
