Abstract

In attempts of encouraging creation of quality human resource, leadership style is one of factors in which academicians and practitioners of human resource pay attention. The research examines effects of leadership style on working discipline, working motivation, and performance of employees.Subject of the research is employees of PT. Lentera Nusatama of Surakarta. Sample of the research is all members of population, namely 72 respondents. Questionnaire is used to collect data and path analysis with multiple linear regression model approach is used to prove hypotheses of the research.Results of the research obtained a total value of determination coefficient from regression model of 75.3%. It means that leadership style had significant effect on working motivation, working discipline and performance of employees,  whereas the rest, 24.7%, were affected by other variables. Because values of leadership style, motivation and working discipline was less than 0.05, it can be concluded that a positive effect of leadership style on the working motivation, discipline and performance of employees was found.

Abstract

Bank and risk couldn’t be separated. Activities of the bank always contain risk for bank. Bank could take a higher risk to reach the bank earning desire. High risk-taking that bank took will impact to high bank earning volatility. Bank earning volatility will cause uncertainty of bank capital.Bank earning volatility in this study measured by standard deviation of ROA bank. This study used Fixed Effect Analysis Regression for panel data. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of firm size, market concentration, cost to income ratio, leverage, and divercification to bank earning volatility. The result of this study is firm size has positive effect and significant to bank earning volatility. Market Concentration has negative effect and significant to bank earning volatility. Cost to income has positive effect, but not significant significant to bank earning volatility. Leverage and divercification have negative effect but not significant significant to bank earning volatility.

Abstract

Hedging by using derivative instruments is one of the common risk management used by company to protect their assets from risk of exchange rate and interest rates. This study aimed to determine the effect of liquidity, firm size, the  growth opportunity, financial distress, leverage and managerial ownership on hedging activity using derivative instruments at non-financial companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2010-2014.The population of the study is a data non-financial companies listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2010-2014 The sample in this study amounted to 93 companies by using purposive sampling. This study using logistic regression analysis techniques, to determine the variables that affect of the use of derivative instruments as hedging activity.The results of this study showed that there are three variables that affect significantly hedging activity using derivative instruments. Variable firm size and leverage have positive affect on hedging activity using derivative instruments, and variable financial distress have negative affect on hedging activity using derivative instruments. Whereas for the other variables did not influence the hedging activity using derivative instruments.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze  the influence of price perception, promotion, and distribution to the purchase decision of Coca-Cola. Where the independent variables are price perception, promotion, and distribution affect the purchase decision as the dependent variable. The data in this study were collected through questionnaires and implemented to 100 consumer of  Coca-Cola as the study sample. Data analysis methods used are quantitative analyzes, the test reliability and validity, the classical assumption test, t test and F test, coefficient of determination as well as multiple linear regression analysis. Based on the results of data analysis, showed that: price perception have positive and significant impact as well as having the greatest influence on purchase decisions, promotion have positive and significant influence on purchase decisions, distribution have a positive and significant influence on purchase decisions. The results of analysis using the coefficient of determination is known that 33,4% variable purchase decision can be explained by variations of the variables price perception, promotion, and distribution, while 66,6% explained by other variables that are not included in this study.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of perception of quality and sales promotions on brand awareness ; to examine the association of the brand , the quality perception and sales promotion of the decision to use of services and to examine the effect brand awareness to decision to use of services. The background problem of this study is the decreasing number of top brand index Garuda Indonesia from the last three years , the realization of the target market share of Garuda Indonesia in 2010 and 2013 did not meet the target in the desired and Garuda Indonesia is still not able to master the market share of flying the domestic departure of Semarang.This research is using the questionaire methode to collect the data from 100 sample respondent, the sampling technic used is accidental sampling and data analysis used in this research is multiple linear regression method.The results show  ( 1 ) the perception of quality and sales promotion significant positive effect on brand awareness , ( 2 ) brand association , perception of quality, brand awareness and sales promotion significant positive effect on the decision use of the services.

Abstract

The success of the organization to achieve its goals and objectives is largely depend on employee commitment. Employees who are highly committed see them selves as a true member of a company, ignoring minor source of discontent. Organizational commitment are influenced by many factors, such are organizational culture, job satisfaction and leadership. The purpose of this is study on to analyze the influence of organizational culture, job satisfaction and leadership is organizational commitment.Population in this study are employees of the Regional Office of Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Semarang, Jl. Teuku Umar No. 24, Semarang, with the total of respondents 237. The samples in this study were 70 employees.Non random sampling techniqul was utilized in this study. Data were colleected through questionnaire distribution. The analysis technique used is multiple regression. Results of analysis using SPSS shows that :Organization culture have significant effect on organizational commitment. Job satisfaction have significant effect on organizational commitment. Leadership have significant effect on organizational commitment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze things that can affect customer purchase intention in Suzuki’s motorcycle in Semarang.  This study departs from an existing research problem “How to increase customer purchase intention in Suzuki’s motorcycle?”. This study was conducted by testing the effect of product quality and brand image variables to the customer purchase intention, where product attractiveness were using as intervening variable in this study.This research method using a technique of sampling purposive with sample as many as 100 respondents who came to Suzuki booth in Semarang. Analysis method in this study used quantitative and qualitative analysis uses multivariate regression analysis with SPSS. The analysis in this study includes: validity and reliability test, classic test assumptions, multivariate regression analysis, hypotheses test through t test and f test, and determination coefficients (r2).The results in the first structure showed that product quality (0.382) and brand image (0.537) has positive and significant effect on the product attractiveness variable, then the result in the second structure showed that product attractiveness (0.852) has a positive and significant effect on the customer purchase intention in Suzuki’s motorcycle. The result on data analysis found adjusted R square point 0.786 from the first structure and 0.724 from the second structure. That means 78.6% of product attractiveness variable explained by product quality and brand image. Meanwhile in the second structure has 77.1% of customer purchase intention explained by product attractiveness. And the rest of them can be explained by other variables outside this research.

Abstract

The purpose of every business is not only looking for a sustainable profit, but alsoto develop the society, including in universities. This purpose can be achieved by implementing social responsibility. Therefore, the aim of this study is to analyze the effect of corporate social responsibility (CSR) on brand awareness through company reputation of Mandiri Bank.Population  of  this  study  is  Diponegoro  University  students  who  have  saving account at Mandiri Bank. As many as 108 respondents were tahen as sample in this study. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was applied in this study and AMOS version 21.0 was used to analyze data.The  study  found  that  corporate social  responsibility  has  a  direct  positive  and significant  effect on brand awareness. Furthermore, the result  also showed that  CSR affects brand awareness indirectly thourgh corporate reputation.

Abstract

Conventional commercial bank is vulnerable hit by Non Performing Loans (NPL) because credit as the main source of income comes from a conventional bank Although the bank’s management had made efforts based on the credit rating of 5C+1C but still the banks potentially exposed tho tb he credit risk The purpose of this research was to know how big the influence of variable CAR, LDR, BANK SIZE, ROA, and BOPO, against Non Performing Loan (NPL) in Conventional commercial banks go public in 2010-2014.This research was conducted with purposive sampling. The samples used were 25 conventional commercial banks go public in Indonesia. The data used in this research are the Annual Report of each bank in 2010-2014 were obtained from Bloomberg, the official website of Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX), and the official website of Bank Indonesia.. This research uses multiple linear regression analysis as data analysis tools.Based on the test for normality, multicollinearity test, heteroskedastisitas test and autocorrelation test, there were no deviations from goodness of fit. This indicates that the available data has been qualified to use the model of multiple linear regression equation. From the analysis indicates that CAR, LDR, ROA have no significance effect on NPL, Whereas Bank Size and ROA have significant influence on the NPL. Predictive capabilityof the five variables to Non Performing Loan (NPL) of 29%, while the remaining 71% influenced by other factors not included in the research model.

Abstract

Investment growth of mutual funds in Indonesia has increased rapidly due to the mutual fund that able to overcome the investor problems in making investment. The problems associated with time, information, and the ability to invest. Mutual funds are managed by an investment manager that can manage the fund in accordance with its investment objectives.This study conducted to examine the relationship between the performance of mutual fund shares with five variables that affect it includes stock selection skills, market timing ability, longevity fund, fund cash flow and fund size. The data used in this study are SBI, JCI, TNA annually, NAB monthly, and age with 59 sample of mutual funds of stocks for 2010-2014 period and the number of observations as many as 188 data.This research using the method of multiple linear regression with the classical assumption using normality test, heteroscedasticity test, multicollinearity test, autocorrelation test. The method used to test the hypothesis is the F test and T test shows that partially market timing ability have significant positive impact to performance of mutual funds. Stock selection skill have significant negative impact to performance, but Fund Longevity and Fund Size have no significant negative impact to performance of mutual funds. Then cash have no significant positive impact to performance of mutual funds. Based on the test results show the value of the coefficient of determination adjusted R square of 0.633, so that the variables in this study may explain the variable performance of mutual funds amounted to 63.3%.
