Abstract

Business competition in cosmetics products is increasing rapidly in line with the growth of the cosmetics industry every year in Indonesia. One of the leading cosmetic brands is Mustika Ratu. As the brand has been established for more than 42 years, Mustika Ratu has the proficiency and good reputation in producing cosmetics. The research aims to examine the effect of product quality variables, distribution channels, celebrity endorsers on purchasing decisions. Consumers who have used Mustika Ratu’s face mask products in Semarang City were chosen as the population in this study. The sample for this research is 100 respondents that were selected with purposive sampling through a questionnaire. The obtained data will then be processed and analyzed with the SPSS program. The results of this research show that the variable of product quality, distribution channels, and celebrity endorser had a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions.

Abstract

Based on the percentage of the Sariayu brand in the Top Brand Index, it has increased and decreased. From the Top Brand Index data, it can be seen that in 2016 the percentage of powder face products was 8.3%. In 2017 it decreased to 8.0%. In 2018 sales rose to 10.4% but in 2019 there was a drastic decline of 5.9% with the figure reaching 4.5%. From these data it is known that Sariayu products for 3 consecutive years ranked number 4 and then dropped to number 5.This study aims to analyze the impact of advertising, monetary promotion, ethical perceptions, perceived quality and social media on brand loyalty conducted on Sariayu cosmetic users. In this study using advertising variables, monetary promotion, and ethical perception as an independent variable, perceived quality as an intervening variable, social media as a moderator variable and brand loyalty as the dependent variable.The population in this study was Sariayu cosmetic users. The number of samples used were 200 respondents. Data obtained from the questionnaire were processed and analyzed using the AMOS and SPSS programs.The results of this study indicate that advertising has a positive and significant effect on perceived quality, monetary promotion has no significant effect on perceived quality, ethical perceptions have a positive and significant effect on perceived quality, advertising moderated by social media does not have a significant effect on perceived quality, monetary promotion has moderated social media does not have a significant effect on perceived quality, ethical perceptions moderated by social media do not have a significant effect on perceived quality, and perceived quality has a positive and significant effect on brand loyalty.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of work-life balance and career development on generation Y employee’s turnover intention through job satisfaction as a mediator in PT Bank Tabungan Negara Syariah Semarang. The population used in this study are employees born between 1980 – 2000 or known as Y generation. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 55 emloyees. Measurement in the questionnaire used a seven point likert scale. The data analysis technique used in this study is IBM SPSS 23 with path analysis method. The data analysis used in this study include validity test, reliability test, classic assumption test, coefficient of determination test, F test, t test, and sobel test to determine the mediation effect.The results of this study show that the variable of work-life balance and career development have negative and significant effect on turnover intention. Work-life  balance and career development have positive and significant effect on job satisfaction. Meanwhile job satisfaction has negative and significant effect on turnover intention. In addition, this study shows that job satisfaction mediates the relationship between work-life balance and career development on turnover intention.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the effect of ownership structure, return on equity and leverage on dividend payout ratio. The ownership structure is devided to foreign ownership and government ownership as independence variables, while dividend payout ratio as dependent variable. Return on equity and leverage as independence variables, while dividend payout ratio as dependent variable.This research used secondary data with population consists of 234 manufacturing companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange in the period of 2015-2018. The purposive sampling method used was used in selecting the research sample and 34 manufacturing companies that consistently distributed dividends during the research period. Multiple linear regression technique are chosen for this research statistic analysis. This research has fulfilled the classical assumption test requirements and used the t test to determine the significance of the influence of the variable ownership structure, return on equity and leverage on the dividend payout ratio.The result of this research shows that return on equity has a positive significant effect on the dividend payout ratio. Meanwhile, foreign ownership and government ownership, have no significant effect on the dividend payout ratio. Leverage has a negative significant effect on the dividend payout ratio.

Abstract

Investment in MSME through the Equity Crowdfunding Platform was introduced and implemented in Indonesia at the end of 2018. The number of investors and investment value on the Equity Crowdfunding platform in Indonesia until 2019 experienced a drastic increase where the percentage increase was more than 100%. However, research related to Equity Crowdfunding in Indonesia has not been done much. This study has a general objective to analyze the effect of MSME performance, trust and risk perception on investment intentions at MSME through the Equity Crowdfunding Platform in Indonesia.The population used in this study are investors of the Equity Crowdfunding Platform in Indonesia. The sample used was 144 respondents. The sample collection method used was purposive sampling. The data collection methods were used questionnaires. This research uses Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis with AMOS 24.0 analysis tools.The results of this study indicate that the performance of MSMEs has a positive and significant effect on trust and investment intentions. Then, trust has a positive and significant effect on investment intentions. While trust has a negative and significant effect on risk perceived. In addition, risk perceived also has a negative and significant effect on investment intentions. Trust variables are found to have a dominant influence on investment intentions so it is important for company managers to be able to maintain and even increase investor’s trust by building a systematic evaluation mechanism.

Abstract

This research was based on the phenomenon of the decline in sales that had occurred in madina furniture in the last two years, in 2016 and 2017. Even though the marketing business since 2005 has never experienced a decline in sales. The decline in sales was due to many market competitors. This study aims to analyze product quality, price perception, service quality on brand image and its impact on Madina furniture purchasing decisions. The population used in the study is all consumers who had ever purchases transaction of products in Madina Mebel store, where respondents in Banjarnegara. The samples of this study is 125 respondents. The method of collecting data through questionnaires. This study used analytical technique of structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis technique of AMOS 22.0 analysis tool. The results showed that product quality have positive and significant effect to brand image, price perception have positive and significant effect to brand image, service quality have positive and significant effect to brand image, and product quality have positive and significant influence to purchase decision, and significant to purchase decision, service quality have positive and significant effect to purchasing decision, brand image have positive and significant effect to purchasing decision. All variables in the study have positive and significant impacts so that Madina Furniture can focus on improving product quality, price perception, service quality and store brand image in increasing purchasing decisions.

Abstract

The present study is to identified factors that affecting consumer purchase decision of Video On Demand which is Netflix. The conceptual framework for this study included two variable of actual usage technology as proposed by TAM which are Perceived Ease of Use and Perceived Usefulness. Furthermore, Perceived Price and Social Influence was added to the framework. Sample Data is done by interview, while the questionnaire used as the tools in data collection. Research sample are 100 respondents who are aware of Netflix and already used Netflix This research uses multiple linear regression analysis techniques that are processed using SPSS. The results of this research found that Perceived Ease of Use, Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Price and Social Influence have a positive and significant influence on Purchase Decision.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of work engagement and leadership on employee performance through organizational commitment as a intervening variable on the Head Office of PDAM Tirta Moedal, Semarang City. This study uses data through the distribution of research questionnaries, and secondary data through journals and books.This study uses a probability sampling technique that is a random sampling. The sample in this study were employees at the Head Office of PDAM Tirta Moedal, Semarang City, whose dound 75 people. The data analysis technique used in this study is Partian Least Square with SmartPLS 3.2.9 application to find path coefficients, and the direct or indirect influence of exogeneous on endogeneous variables. Analysis of the statistical testing result use alpha α = 0,05. While the results of the study show that work engagement has a significant positive effect on employee performance and organizational commitment, leadership has a significant positive effect on employee performance and organizational commitment, and organizational commitment had a positive and significant effect on employee performance. In addiction, organizational commitment variables can mediate an indirect relationship between leadership on employee performance but not to work engagement on employee performance

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Non Performing Loans (NPL), Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR), Operational Costs Operating Income (BOPO), Third Party Funds (DPK), and Company Size (SIZE) on banking performance proxied by Return on Assets (ROA). The population in this study is conventional commercial banks in Indonesia which are listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the period 2014 - 2018. The number of samples in this study were 23 banks, where the sample collection uses a purposive sampling method. The analysis technique used is multiple linear regression analysis and first performs the classic assumption test, the F statistical test, and the t statistical test. The results of hypothesis testing in this study indicate that CAR, DPK, and SIZE have significant positive effect on ROA, then NPL and BOPO have a significant negative effect on ROA, whereas LDR does not significantly influence ROA. Based on the results of the study showed that the BOPO variable had the greatest effect on ROA. The result of the R Square value is 0.820, so that 82% of the ROA variable can be explained by the CAR, NPL, LDR, BOPO, DPK, and SIZE variables, while the remaining 18% is explained by other factors not explained in this study.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of compensation and work stress variables on employee performance with job satisfaction as an intervening variable. However employee performance is the most important asset of all, there was a problem of decreasing employee performance at PT. Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk Semarang. Research gap from the previous research also becomes the background of this research. The population in this study are employees of PT. Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk Semarang using non-probability accidental sampling in sampling with the number of participant involved in this studies as much as 63 employees. Analysis of the data used in this study is descriptive and quantitative analysis methods and uses the Sobel test as a tool for testing the effects of mediation. The data processing is done using the IBM SPSS 23 program.The results of this study indicate that compensation has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction and also a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Job stress has a negative and significant effect on job satisfaction and also a negative and significant effect on employee performance. Job satisfaction is proven to mediate the relationship between compensation and employee performance and the relationship between work stress and employee performance. With total determination test, compensation, works stress, and job satisfaction can explain 59,2% of employee performance.
