Abstract

This study addresses the limitations of conventional vocabulary teaching methods at Pondok Modern Al-Furqon, which focus on rote memorization without assessing students' ability to use vocabulary communicatively. This research aims to develop a pragmatics-based assessment instrument to enhance students' competence in applying vocabulary in real-life contexts. The research adopts a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model. The findings indicate that the developed instrument, consisting of written tests (multiple-choice, short answers, matching pictures) and oral tests (simulations and dialogues) is valid and reliable both technically and pedagogically. Small-scale implementation revealed significant improvements in students' ability to apply vocabulary pragmatically, although some challenges, such as the extended time required for oral tests, were identified. The study concludes that the pragmatics-based instrument effectively supports more applicable Arabic language learning. The implications highlight the importance of integrating pragmatic approaches in vocabulary teaching to improve students' communicative skills in used language

Abstract

This study explores the implementation of the experiential learning model in productive subjects at Vocational High Schools (SMK) to enhance students’ work-oriented competencies. Using a systematic literature review guided by the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) framework, this research synthesizes findings from 20 peer-reviewed journal articles published between 2019 and 2024. Data were gathered through literature searches using the Publish or Perish (PoP) tool, which retrieves data from databases such as Google Scholar. The findings indicate that implementing experiential learning significantly improves students’ technical competencies, critical thinking abilities, and career adaptability skills. However, challenges such as limited practical facilities, insufficient industry support, and underprepared educators remain prevalent. These insights highlight the importance of industry-school collaboration in optimizing vocational education and inform strategies for developing more responsive instructional practices in SMKs.

Abstract

Manufacturing faces a gap between technological developments and engineering training programs, including vocational education, that play a role in preparing skilled workers. The main obstacle is the high operational costs and learning facilities, especially in CAD/CAM learning related to CNC, where students experience difficulties in creating CNC programs due to the inability to visualize tool movements and limited physical access to CNC machines. This study developed a textbook based on Autodesk Inventor (CAM) integrated with the Case Method to facilitate the design of drawings and simulations of valid and practical CNC programs. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model. The results of the study indicate that the developed teaching materials are valid. This is proven by the material and media experts' assessment results in the "very good" category. The practicality of the textbook in the learning process runs well, as shown in one-to-one, small-group, and field tests that are in the "very good" category. This textbook, which was systematically designed according to the students' characteristics and learning strategies and integrates Autodesk Inventor and Case Method teaching materials, is expected to bridge the theory-practice gap and improve students' technological literacy critically and creatively.

Abstract

Virtual Reality (VR) is a significant innovation in culinary education, especially in table-service learning. This technology allows students to practice in a realistic virtual environment, creating an immersive and interactive learning experience. Through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of 50 articles, 13 from 2018 to 2025 were analysed to evaluate the effectiveness of VR. The results showed that VR can increase students' engagement, conceptual understanding, and technical skills in table service. VR also provides learning flexibility without time and place constraints. However, obstacles are challenging, including high costs, limited specific content, and psychomotor skill simulations. Therefore, integrating VR with conventional methods and educational institutions and the technology industry collaboration are crucial to optimise table-service learning and prepare students for the workforce.

Abstract

Mathematics education in Indonesia faces challenges of low learning interest and limited conceptual understanding among students, reflected in Indonesia's 2022 PISA score of 366 points. This research aims to develop M-learning based on flipped classroom model to enhance students' interest and understanding of mathematical concepts. The research method employed the ADDIE model, with SDLC approach specifically applied in the development phase. Research subjects involved 69 eleventh-grade students from SMA Negeri 1 Cawas. Data collection instruments included expert validation questionnaires, user response questionnaires, learning interest questionnaires, and mathematical concept understanding tests. Results showed M-learning was highly feasible according to media expert validation (average 3.84) and material expert validation (average 3.9), rated as very practical by teachers (average 3.96) and practical by students (average 3.36). M-learning implementation increased learning interest by 20.2% and mathematical concept understanding by 72.70%. M-learning flipped classroom proved effective in enhancing interest and mathematical concept understanding.
