Abstract

Yayasan Khoiru Ummah merupakan organisasi pendidikan filantropi yang banyak menyerap tenaga fundraiser dan administrasi. Permasalahan utama yang dialami mitra adalah belum optimalnya sistem seleksi sumber daya manusia karena ketiadaan standar baku penentuan keputusan yang cepat dan akurat. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk melakukan transformasi digital pada sistem rekrutmen mitra melalui pelatihan penggunaan sistem pendukung keputusan menggunakan aplikasi Expert Choice. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian terdiri dari tahap observasi, pre-test, pelatihan teori dan praktik selama delapan jam, serta post-test. Evaluasi tingkat pemahaman peserta diukur menggunakan instrumen kuesioner berskala Guttman. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman awal peserta terhadap metode keputusan terkomputerisasi hanya sebesar 18%. Setelah mengikuti pelatihan secara komprehensif, pemahaman peserta melonjak signifikan menjadi 97.5%. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelatihan aplikasi Expert Choice memberikan persentase kenaikan pemahaman sebesar 79.5% dan secara efektif membekali pengurus yayasan dalam mengambil keputusan rekrutmen yang lebih terstruktur dan efisien

Abstract

This service activity aims to improve students' English pronunciation skills through the Automatic Speech Recognition Indah (ASRI) website. The platform offers interactive learning with automatic feedback to help students improve pronunciation, especially difficult consonant sounds like /ð/. Students are trained to pronounce various consonant sounds and are directly evaluated by ASRI. The results showed that the sounds /k/ and /dʒ/ were the easiest to pronounce (23/24 correct questions), followed by /tʃ/ and /θ/ (17 and 16), while /g/ (15) and /ð/ (12) were the biggest challenges. The use of ASRI has been shown to help identify specific errors and encourage consistent self-paced learning. Although its effectiveness depends on the difficulty of the sound, regular practice and feedback features from ASRI are expected to improve pronunciation accuracy significantly.

Abstract

A training program introducing Artificial Intelligence (AI) to teachers at SMA Negeri 16 Pekanbaru was conducted to enhance participants’ basic understanding and initial skills in applying AI technologies within educational settings. The training covered foundational AI concepts, basic Python programming, and hands-on sessions using Google Colaboratory (Colab) as a cloud-based practical tool. Delivered through a combination of lectures, hands-on practice, interactive discussions, and evaluations (pre-test and post-test), the program involved 20 participating teachers. Evaluation results indicated significant improvement in participants' knowledge, particularly in understanding Python as a programming language for AI, which was grasped by all participants (100%). Meanwhile, comprehension of basic AI concepts and the practical use of Colab reached between 70% and 85%. These outcomes suggest that the training positively contributed to strengthening technological literacy among teachers. Furthermore, this program serves as an initial step in preparing educators for the integration of AI into classroom instruction and highlights the need for ongoing technical support to develop practical AI competencies.

Abstract

Conventional lecture-based still dominates the learning process at one of the vocational high schools (SMK) in Pekanbaru causing students to be less focused and less motivated in participating in teaching and learning activities. This community service program aims to improve teachers’ knowledge and skill in developing interactive learning media using an interactive presentation application. The training was carried out in four stages, namely pre-test, material introduction and explanation, demonstration and practice, and post-test and evaluation. The activity was held at laboratory of the Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Lancang Kuning, with five teachers as participants. Participants’ level understanding before and after the training was measured using the Guttman Scale. The evaluation result showed an increase in the average level of understanding from 7.50% in the pre-test to 90.50% in the post-test, representing an improvement of 85%. The training proved effective in enhancing teachers’ ability to design interactive learning materials while also fostering their enthusiasm for the use of learning technology

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has significantly enhanced convenience in daily activities. However, it has also increased the risk of cybercrime, particularly phishing and digital fraud. Students, as active users of the internet and social media, constitute a vulnerable group due to their limited awareness and understanding of cybersecurity practices. This community service initiative was designed to improve students’ awareness and knowledge of phishing threats, various forms of digital fraud, and effective preventive measures applicable in everyday contexts. The program was implemented through interactive outreach sessions, structured presentations, demonstrations of phishing case studies, guided discussions, and evaluations using pre-tests and post-tests to assess participants’ learning outcomes. The activity was held at a school in Pekanbaru City, with lecturers and university students serving as facilitators. The findings demonstrated a notable improvement in participants’ ability to recognize suspicious messages or links, understand the importance of safeguarding personal data, use strong passwords, implement two-factor authentication, and respond appropriately to potential digital fraud. Furthermore, participants exhibited high engagement during discussion sessions and were able to identify various forms of cybercrime commonly encountered in digital environments. This initiative is expected to strengthen digital literacy and enhance students’ preparedness to address cybersecurity challenges in the era of digital transformation.
