Abstract

This research discusses the creation and testing of ornithopter prototype as an educational tool because the use of lecture learning methods makes students feel bored. An Ornithopter is an unmanned aircraft that mimics the movement of bird wings while flying. This research employs balsa wood as the main material for the prototype and testing is carried out in a closed environment. The ornithopter prototype has 3 out of 4 degrees of freedom of bird wing movement, including flapping, feathering, and spanning movements. The process of making the ornithopter prototype involves designing, measuring, cutting, assembling, and the attachment of plastic components as wings and tail. Testing is conducted through flight trials using rubber as the propulsive mechanism. The test results showed that the ornithopter prototype prototype is capable of achieving flight, with an average flight duration of approximately 4.76 seconds and the number of wing flaps was 8 times per second. Comparison of characteristics between the ornithopter prototype and pigeons shows that the ornithopter prototype has approached the movement of birds when flying which pigeons can flap 8-10 times per second while flying. With 3 out of 4 degrees of freedom implemented, namely flapping, feathering, and spanning movements, the ornithopter prototype can serve as an educational tool to enhance the understanding of bird wing movements during flight.

Abstract

Research on the analysis of ascorbic acid content in pineapples and melons has been carried out using the UV-Vis spectrophotometry method. This study aims to determine the levels of ascorbic acid in pineapple and melon. The samples used in this study were pineapple samples and melon samples. The ascorbic acid concentrations were measured for the two samples. The measurements were carried out using the UV-Vis spectrophotometry method at a wavelength of 265 nm. To determine whether there is a difference in the concentration of ascorbic acid between the pineapple and melon samples. After the research that has been done it turns out that the dilution shows different concentrations that have been obtained. Based on the measurement results using UV-Vis spectrophotometry, it was found that the ascorbic acid concentration contained in the pineapple sample was 163.82 mg/L, while the ascorbic acid concentration contained in the melon sample was 45.35 mg/L. So the result is higher than pineapple fruit compared to melon fruit.

Abstract

Since the system has been operational until now, the PLTS at the LKC wallet dhuafa Palembang clinic has never been analyzed on the system's performance, so it is not yet known whether this system is working well or not. The aim of this research is to analyze the performance of PLTS at the LKC Dompet Dhuafa Palembang clinic against variations in inductive and resistive loads. This research has 4 research stages, namely: 1). Literature study. 2). tool testing is carried out. 3). Data collection measurements. 4). Data analysis. From this research, the results obtained from testing tools and measuring data on PLTS performance at the LKC wallet dhuafa Palembang clinic with variations in inductive and resistive loads, when measuring the highest inductive input power was 449.8 W, the resulting efficiency was 83% at 12 :00, while the resistive input power is 546 W, the resulting efficiency is 80% from 12:00 to 15:00. From the research that has been carried out, the inductive load efficiency calculation results are 83% at 12:00 and the resistive load efficiency calculation results are 80% from 12:00 to 15:00. So it can be concluded that the performance of PLTS at the LKC Dhompet Dhuafa Palembang clinic is optimal in terms of load calculations.

Abstract

The cause of the leak was triggered by a hose that was no longer suitable for use so that it could cause gas leaks which could have an impact on the explosion of LPG gas cylinders. By making a security system for LPG gas with a microcontroller based MQ-6 sensor using an alarm and SMS, it can help users to find out the occurrence of a leak in LPG gas. As this tool works when there is a gas leak, the MQ-6 detects that there is a leak in the LPG gas hose, so the alarm will sound. When it is on, the sound will send a command to Arduino to close the LPG gas valve. Then the buzzer alarm will send commands to the user via SMS to notify you that "gas leak has occurred". The implementation of this device is useful so that users can quickly find out leaks in the gas so that they can take steps to avoid an explosion on the gas stove. The conclusion is that this LPG gas leak detector control system can help the community, especially housewives, and can also help to avoid fires due to LPG gas leaks.

Abstract

Generator is a tool that functions to converts mechanical energy to be electrical energy. In the generator, there are two main components consisting of rotor as the part rotating and stator as the static one. Generator needs main driver or primary energy source to be able to spin the rotor and one of the sources is wind. Generator combined with wind turbine can work as wind power plant. A test was carried out to analyze performance of the permanent magnet synchronous generator with the power capacity of 2 kW. The test was carried out on the wind energy conversion system in Pantai Baru, Srandakan, Bantul, D.I. Yogyakarta, by installing generator to a ten meters of turbine building. The duration of the test was 19 hours in two days, i.e. 5- 6 September 2015. The result of the test was the highest performance of the generator occurred at 12.40, on 5 September 2015, with power generated of 384.48 Watt, voltage of 53.40 Volt and current of 7.2 Ampere. At the same time, the wind blew at 8.76 m/s. Overall, from the test data, the average power generated by the generator was 79.79 Watt. Meanwhile, the wind blew at 4.33 m/s.
