Abstract

The activities of this technology application purpos~ : (1) gives skills in fish processing to the wife of fisherman in Trisik Beach.Desa  Banaran, Kecamatan Galur, Kabupaten Kulon Progo, especially to make bandengfish  presto,  fish meatballs, fish noodles, fish shredded, and fish ketchup; (2) increase the fisherman income by means of fish processing.These activities are followed by 14 women, and carried out in three days in Trisik. The methods of this activity are talkactive and practice in fish processing.  The topics of the talk~cti~e are:   (1) The contents of nutrient in fish, (2) Fish processing technology,  (3) The health technology in food processing, (4) The sanitation of area manufacture, (5) Analysis in exertion fish processing, and (6) The methods of packing production  and getting sertificate from Health Department. The topics in practice of fish processing  are  making  bandeng fish  presto,  fish meatballs,  fish  noodles,  fish shredded, and fish ketchup. ,The 'results 6f'these  activities  indicate that the participants  are very interest. The  participants   are  interesting   in  the  processing  of  bandeng fish  presto,   fish meatballs, and fish noodles.  The conclucions of these activities are: (I)  the activities have succeeded agree with the purpose, and (2) the participants have had skills in fish processing, especially in making bandengfish  presto, fish meatballs, fish noodles, fish shredded, and fish ketchup.Key words:   fish  processing,  and  increase of fisherman   income

Abstract

The general   purpose of this program is to produce Polishing Machines for silver  planning  and  refining  work  as  art  craftsmanship  commodities.  The  special purpose  of  the  program  are  (I)    to  increase the   producing  capacity  of  silver craftsmanship  workers'   group;  and  (2)   to  improve  the  quality  and  quantity  of production to meet exporters' demand and requirements.Methods constructed  to  accomplish  the  mentioned  above  purpose  are  (I) to  planPolishing  Machines  model,  (2)   to  design  working  drawing,  (3)   to  make working schedule, (4) to plan cost, (5) to implement modeling, (6) to test and verify the machines,  (7)  correcting  insufficiencies,  (8)  to conduct    training  for  industrial operators, (9) to prepare final report.The  output  of    Vucer    Program  is  a  Polishing  Machines  with  followingtechnical specifications: (1)  Machine dimension = L x W x H : 2200  x 800  x  1000!TIm; (2)  Chassis = Profile iron L 32  mrn; (3)  Generating power = Electric motor  1 phase, nov,  Y2   HP,  1400  rpm;  (4)  Transmission  system = Using  pulley  without'coupling; (5)  Polishing disk  revolution =800  rpm; (6)  Working  hour  per day = 6 hours; (7)  Production capacity per day = 88 pieces; and (8)  Empirical age prediction of  machine  :=    ± 8  years.  The  comparison  before  and  after  using  the  Polishing Machine: (1) Production capacity per day, post-vucer 50 pieces, post-vucer 88 pieces; (2) Grossprofit  per day, pre-vucer Rp 50,000,  Rp 88,000;  (3) Operating cost perday, pre-vucer  Rp  15,000,  post-vucer. Rp 21,000;   (4)  Net profit   per day,  pre-vucer  Rp35,000,  post-vucer Rp 67,000;  (5) Net profit per month, pre-vucer Rp 875,000,   post­vucer Rp r ,675,000;   (6) Profit difference per month = Rp 800,000;  (7) Machine price= Rp. 5,000,000;   and (8) BEP = 6,25 month. The conclusion of  Vucer Program is that: (1) The silver polishing machine is able to improve quality and quantity of product, (2) All machine components function as planned, and even allow for further development,  (3)  Machine. operation  is simple,  (4)  the  performance  is good  from technical point of view, (5)  from economic point of view, it is very feasible for the silver craftsmanship  workers. The vacuum cleaner  installation  is recommended  for optimal  use  of  this  machine.  It can  be  installed  by the  partner.  Furthermore,  the machine technology can be distributed to similar industries.Key words:   polishing machine, for silver,

Abstract

This   public    service    program    aims   to   provide    some    knowledge     and   skill improvement   on selecting  and preparing  children  foods  using  complementary   technique, and some  knowledge   improvement   on composing  children  food menu.  It is expected  that after  this  program   the  participants   will  be  able  to  design  models   and  menu   lists  of children  food  menu  using  complementary     technigue   for nutritious   substance  especially protein. Although   the food price  is reduced, the nutritious  content  is better.  Moreover,  the children    cared   are   protected    from   food   poisoning,    malnutrition    and   improve    the awareness  of selecting  healthy  foods in children  as early as possible.The  method   applied  in  this  program   was  lecture,  discussion   and  practical   work simulation. The   presentation    of   the   group   practical    work   was   in   the   form   of   a competition. The duration  of this program  was 33 hours.  Participants  were delegated  from10 children  involving   19 representatives.The    program  was conducted  from  20 June to  12November  2002.The  results  show  that  most  of the  participants   comment  that  this  training  is very useful   in  improving   cooking   activity  in  childeares.It is  found  that  the  competition model  motivates   the  participants   to  actively  attend  the  program.   The  evaluation   thus shows that  84,3%  of the participants  achieve  good result while the rest ( 15,7%)   are in the average.  Generally,  the participants   ( 77,7%  ), before  the training  did not know  the concepts   of  preparing   healthy  and  safe  foods.In   order  to  improve  protein  nutritious value   of  food,   participantas,    presented   24  main   dishes   (  8  lauk   and   16  sayur   ) composed  in menu  lists for 30 days using complementary  technique.   Key words:   Complementary   technique.

Abstract

The  purpose   of  this  training   in  order  to  conduct   service  community   through   the Sibermas   Program   is  to  increase   skills  and  knowledge   of  the  teachers   of  the  secondary Tepus and Tanjungsari  school in constructing  and conducting  Classroom  Action  Research.The participants   of this  service  community   are 20 subject  matter  teachers  from  any content   areas  of  Tepus   and  Tanjungsari    Secondary   School.     The  training   is  held  from August  27 to 29 2002.   The constructing  research  proposal  is conducting  in a week between August  30 and  September   5, 2002.  The  monitoring   of research  activities  is held  between September   15 and October  30.  The training  used techniques  of lecture,  discussion,  tutorial, and monitoring.The result  if this training' activity  is that all of the teachers  followed  this activity  havecompetencies     of    Classroom     Action    Research     including    basic    consept,    procedurs, constructing   proposal,  implementing,   and reporting.    There  are  13 teachers  could  construct Classroom  Action  Research  proposal.   Two of them funded to conduct  of research,  those are the group  from  Tepus  2 Secondary  School  and Tanjungsari   2 Secondary  School.   Basid  on the  result,  it  could  be  concluded   that  this  training   activity  could  increase  the  skills  and knowledge   of  the  Secondary   School  teachers   in  contructing   and  conducting   Classroom Action  Research  so this activity  that could increase  the achievement  of he students. Key words:   Sibermas,   Classroom  Action  Research

Abstract

The vucer program was aimed to realize a tool for smoking fish using liquid smoke techniql;1pwhich perforins optimal work, easy to use and maintain affordable, ergonimic and efficient.'Theprogram    was started  from July to November  2002. The partner  of thisprogram  was  the  fishermen  group under  TPI  Mian  Samudra,  Trisik  Beach,  Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta .. T~~l activity was begun  by making a tool for smooking  fish, a specially  designed'oven,    then followed   with  the  experiment  of  the  tool  in  thelaboratory ofPKK-Bog~,  UNY.   'By creating a new tool to process  smoked fish, it is hoped that it can producegood quality and quantitysmeked  fish,  as well as can save time and energy. With this tool, it means that it gives an opportunity for an industry to develop its product. Then it can increase the fishermen arid fish sellers'  income.The product yielded from this program was a set of oven for smoking fish which is strong enough, easy to operate, with sufficie volume and simple quality control.Key words:  fish smoking, smoked fish, and tool model

Abstract

This  society  servitude   aims  to use  the  fish  waste  in poultry  feed  to  increase  the income  of fishermen  in Baron,  Tepus,  Gunung  Kidul,  DIY. This purpose  is designed  into two  activities   namely,  information   delivery  about  the  idea  and  advantages   of using  the fish  waste;   and  the  process   of  manufacturing    the  fish  waste   into  fish  flour   is  also introduced.Thirty    fisherman    joined    with   this   program.    The   information    delivery    was conducted   on  21  August  2002  and  the  pratical  work  of  manufacturing    fish  flour  was conducted   on  21 November   2002  and  at Baron  meeting  house,  Tepus,  Gunung  Kidul, DIY.Result  shows  that  the  participants   show  positive  response   by  collecting   the  fish waste and drying them up, the dry fish waste then blended  to produce  the fish flour.Key words:  fish waste, poultry   feed

Abstract

The  voucher  program entitled  "Manufacturing  Static  Profiling  Machine(Router) for Small Wood Furniture Industries"  aims to increase  productivity  of the Indah  Jaya wood  furniture  industry especially  in profile  production  of the produced furniture.  It also wants to know the capacity and productivity  of such static router machine.The  steps  of  this  manufacturing  static  router  machine  are  planning,machine manufacturing,  and training for industry partner workers.  The planning step  includes  : (l)   designing  machine  plan  draft,  (2)  calculating  the  needed materials,  and  (3) calculating  the  implementation  cost.  The  machine manufacturing  step  includes  :  (1)  material  cutting  to  fit  the  work  draft,  (2) welding,  (3) assembling,  (4) electric installation. (5) machine performance  test, and (6) painting. The training for industry partner workers consists of:  (1) theory and speech delivery, (2) demonstration of machine using, and (3) mahcine using practice by the industry partner workers.The result of the voucer program is realization of a static router machine and skill acievement  by the industry partner workers in the machine operation. The static  router machine was made of right-angled  iron frame sizing 50x50x5 mm combined with steel plate of 3 mm thick. The machine is in 120x80x60 cm size moved by an electric motor power, SEM, of 0,5 HP and rotation  speed of2800   RPM.   The   machine   performance    and   productivity    especially    formanufacturing straight and curved, profiles for 9 mm size of meranti, kamper, and teak wood, is twice in speed as that of protable machines. If it is compared to that of manual profile planner, for manufacturing profiles with the same form and size, the router machine has five times in speed.Key words:   profile  machine,  small industry,  and wood furniture.

Abstract

This  Community    Service   Program   is  intended   to  (1)  provide   knowledge    and skills  on  local  content   subject-matter    PKK  for  Junior  High  School  teachers,   such  as handycraft   which   is made  from  natural  materials,   textile,   and  recycled   materials,   (2) develop   the  PKK  teachers'    creativity   in handycraft    making   for  Junior   High  School students.This   training    uses   classical    approach    for  teoritical    material   and   individualapproach   for practical   material.   In oeder  to get optimal  results,  an intimate   individual guidance   is provided   during  the  practical   process.   Evaluation   is performed   during  the practical   process,   practical   outcomes,   and post-training   periods.Outcomes    of  this  training   are  handicraft    products   such  as:  (l)  picture   framefrom  cardboard   covered  with  dried  leaves,  (2) mascot   from  batik's  scraps,   (3)  buffetdecoration   from  bathing  soap  and water  lace,  (4) pencil  cap from  flannel,  and  (5) free­ style  works,  such  as accessories   from  banana  stem  and tissue  box from  used  ice cream spoon.   Results   of  the  evaluation    on  the  participants'     works   show  that  42  %  of  the participants'    reach  the  excelent   category.  The  observation   performed   after  the  training show   that   90%   of  the   participans     have   implemented     the   training    outcomes.the material    most   frequently    implemented     for  the  junior   high   school   sudents    in  the making  of picture   frame  from  cardboard   and  dried  leaves,  where  as the  least  frequent materials   implemented    is book  self  decoration   form  bathing  soap  and  water  lace.  This is  due  to  the  relatively   high  price  of  the  material   and  need  more   difficult   material preparation   than  the  others.   The  participants'     responses   during  the  training   are  very good,  these   are  proved   by  their  enthusiasm    and  determination     in  performing    tasks given  by their  respective   instructor   as well  as the  participants'    comments   about  their impression   and  messages   indicating   that  this  training   can  open  the  insight  and  blow fresh  wind  for the  local   content  subject-matter    PKK. Key words: handicraft.

Abstract

The goal of the public  service  an the title Assistance  of Pengasih  Subdistrict  Kulon Progo  District   as  the  Sendangsari   Arrangement   to  be  Tourst  Village,  Nature,   Art  and Industry   (Part  I) are: (1) to know  the natural  factor  and society  in Sendangsari   Pengasih Kulonprogo   that  can be developed  into ODTW,  (2) to know  the  desire  and the ability  of the society in Sendangsari  Pengasih  Kulon Pro go that can support  tourism  activities.This public  service  uses sociological-democratic    and anthropological   approach.  The intermediary  target  object  of this public  servise  are tourism  and culture  official  of Kulon­ progo  District,  the  subdistric  head  of Pengasih,  the  chief  and the  servant  of Sendangsari Village.  Mean  while,  the main  target  are the  famous  figures  of the  Sendangsari   Village. The activity  method  of this public  servise  are visiting  to the Celereng  tourist  spot, touring area and   discussing  target object.The  result  of this  public  service  activity  are:  1) The main  and  intermediary   target support   the   Celereng    Tourist   Spot   Development    Programs.    2)  There   is  Kelompok SadarWiscua  (Pokdarwis)  Sendangsari  established  based on Keputusan  Lurah Desa Sendangsari   nomor  04 tahun  2002  tanggal  16 Agustus   2002.  3) The  activity  programs based  on the meeting  of the servant  team  and the target  object  on August  2, 2002 will be held.  The  servant  team  raises  some  suggestions.    They  are:  1) The  target  object  should monitor   and  evaluate  the  activities   regularly    and  continuously,   so the  program   can  be held  or the plan.  2) This public  service  should  be continued  into part II it can to support the  relizaation   of Kawasan   wisata  Clereng  that  can  increase  the  society  welfare  around the  tourist  spot.  3)  The  intermediary   target  should  increase  the  coordination   with  LPM UNY  (the  servant   team),   so  there   is  no  overlapping   program.   The  programs   should support  each other  depend  on its functions.Key words: tourism village
