Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of various types of mulch on the growth and yield components of shallot varieties Lembah Palu were are given the containment. This research was conducted at the Hall Horticulture Seed Napu Watumaeta Village, Poso district, Central Sulawesi Province. The timing of the research in the May-July 2015. This study uses a randomized block design one factor. The treatments tested were four types of mulch that is without mulch, rice straw mulch, black plastic mulch and silver plastic mulch, each treatment was repeated three times so that there are 4 x 3 = 12 units of a plot. Data processed by analysis of variance and differences  among the treatments were tested were determined by LSD 5%. The results showed that rice straw mulch and silver plastic mulch resulted in the highest increase plant height and length of the longest leaf at the age of 50 days after planting. Black plastic mulch, and silver plastic mulch and without mulch produce the largest bulbs convolution results.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the intensity of the disease Vascular Streak Dieback (VSD) in some cocoa clones in the village of the District III Sidondo Sigi Biromaru. This study was conducted in cocoa plantations in the village of the District III Sidondo Sigi Biromaru 01 ° 06 01.9 "latitude and 199 ° 54 56,0 BT 61 M above sea level. The study took place in the third week of February 2015 until the second week of April 2015. In this study used six types of clones observed that cocoa Local, S2 clone, M01 clone, Phanter clone, ICCRI 1 clone and Irian  clone. This study used survey methods and in the determination of the observation plots using Priposive Sampling method in which each set of 15 plants cocoa clones to be observed. Based on observations VSD disease in cacao plantations in the village of Sidondo III shows that the six types of cocoa clones observed have experienced any symptoms of infection VSD. From the intensity calculation data VSD disease attacks on each clone kakaodi Sidondo village III shows the percentages of different clones S2 is on average 3.53%, 4.02% Irian clones, ICCRI 1 4.43%, 4.575 M01 clones, clones Phanter 4.65% and 15.16% local cocoa. Based on the results of the calculation of the rate of fungus infection O. theobromae on cocoa clones 6 In the village Sidondo III shows the rate of infection is quite low at Cocoa Locale 0, 1307 cm², S2 0, 2195 cm², M01 0, 2207 cm², Phanter 0, 1652 cm², ICCRI 1 0, 1 348 cm² and Irian 0, 2887 cm².

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of various concentration of CMC of physical characteristics, chemical and organoleptic of dodol dried fruit made from sugar apple and to obtain an optimal CMC concetration on physical characteristics, chemical and organoleptic of the product by preference of panelists. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Tadulako University, Palu on February to April 2015.  This study used a CRD (completely randomized design) for quality analysis of physical and chemical treatment which consists of 4 levels, namely the concentration of CMC 1% 2% 3% and 4%.  As for the test organoleptic properties using a Randomized Block Design (RBD).  The  result showed that the consentration of CMC did not affect the oil holding capasity, water content, and total fiber, while the solubility analysis, the water holding capasity and vitamin C showed that the concentration of CMC significantly affect the texture, color, and flavor.  Based on the analisys concluded that the higher the connsentration of CMC, the higher the quality of the product particularly the preference level of the flavor and color.

Abstract

Cabbage flowers a vegetable that comes from sub tropical regions.  Temperature range for growth of cabbage flowers that minimum and maximum 15.5 to 18 0C 24 0C, so plants can grow cabbage flowers in lowland and highland. Oxic Dystrudepts was characterized by a high level of soil acidity, nutrient and organic matter is low. One way to increase growth and yield of cabbage flowers crop production by performing fertilization.  Poultry manure used in this study is chicken manure. This study aimed to study the effect of poultry manure on the growth and yield of cabbage flowers (Brassica oleracea var. Bathytis L. ) in Oxic Dystrudepts Lembantongoa.  The research was conducted on October 2014 until February 2015, in the Greenhouse of Agriculture Faculty, Tadulako University, Palu. The soil and the plant analysis were carried out in the Laboratory of Soil Science, Agriculture Faculty, Tadulako University, Palu. The soil for research were taken from Lembantongoa village, Palolo district, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi. The researcher applied a random block design and used chicken cage fertilizer as a treatment with seven levels of dose, namely: control, 10t ha-1, 15t ha-1, 20t ha-1, 25t ha-1, 30t ha-1, 35t ha-1. The data were analyzed based on the design used and followed by HSD 5% test. Cabbage flowers plant growth (height , number of leaves , leaf area , chlorophyll , fresh weight of flower/crop, and plant dry weight) was significantly affected by the dose of poultry manure.
