Abstract

Clove tree is an annual plant that can grow to a height of 10-20 m, it has oval shaped leaves and flowering emerge in its shoots . Fruit stalk at first green, and become red if it is blooming. This study aims to determine the best concentration of BAP on shoot clove growth in in vitro. This research has been carried out in the Laboratory of Plant Biotechnology, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Tadulako, Palu, from August to September 2012. The material used was sterile shoots Cloves 1 month of age as much as 9 buds, study design using a Completely Randomized Design with 3 treatments, using 5 ppm BAP + 0.5 ppm NAA, 6 ppm BAP + 0.5 ppm NAA, 7 ppm BAP + 0.5 ppm NAA. Each treatment was repeated 3 times sothere were 9 experimental units. Data were analyzed by ANOVA followed by Duncans test. The results showed that treatment 6 ppm BAP + 0.5 ppm NAA showed a significant effect on the shoots and leaves of clove.

Abstract

Melon (Cucumis melo L. ) is a horticultural crop that is quite popular in Indonesia . Good taste and nutritional content makes melon increasingly popular with the public . However , often the continuity of supply in the market is still limited. This is due partly because farmers in Indonesia are still planting using seeds imported melons which is quite expensive. Therefore, an effort that can be done to reduce dependence on imported seed is seed multiplication through tissue culture techniques . The growth in tissue culture plants  is controlled by the addition of plant growth regulators . This study aims to determine the effect of BAP and casein hydrolyzate  for better shoot growth in vitro melon . This research has been carried out in the Laboratory of Plant Biotechnology , Faculty of Agriculture , University Tadulako , Palu . Starting from August to November 2012 . The study design using completely randomized design ( CRD ) Factorial pattern of two factors . The first factor is the concentration of BAP ( 0.25 mg / l , 0,50 mg / l and 0.75 mg / l ) , the second factor is the concentration of casein hydrolyzate ( 150 mg / l , 200 mg / l and 250 mg / l ) . significant treatment effect , Further tests using the Test Honestly Significant Difference ( HSD ) at the 5% level . The results of this study indicate that the use of media with different compositions lead to different effects on the growth of shoots melons . Treatment of 0.50 mg / l BAP + 150 mg / l casein hydrolyzate gives a better effect on plant height, number of shoots and number of leaves

Abstract

Municipal garbage and seaweed are organic materials which can be soil ameliorant (additive) important to improve soil chemical and physics. Different organic material sources given to the soil will make plants growing on it respond differently except the seeds. This study aim at testing the response given by organic matter from the city garbage and seaweed on marginal soils (with low pH areas, clayey texture and low nutrient content) on the jackfruit seed growth. The research design used is random complete design with 6 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments tested were B0 = (control-without ameliorant), B1 = Soil + (100 mg N, 60 mg P, 100 mg K, 60 mg Mg, Ca 60 mg kg -1 soil)., B2 = Soil + (50 mg N, 30 mg P, 50 mg K, 30 mg Mg, 30 Ca mg kg -1 soil) + organic materials. Sea weed., B3 = Soil + organic materials. Seaweed., B4 = Soil + (50 mg N, 30 mg P, 50 mg K, 30 mg Mg, 30 mg Ca kg -1 soil) + organic materials. Municipal garbage., B5 = Soil + organic materials. municipal garbage. The results showed that the provision of municipal garbage organic and seaweed significantly affect the parameters of leaf width, however, sea weed organic materials has a more significant effect than  municipal garbage.

Abstract

Dragon fruit plants at beginning used as an ornamental plant because of its unique figure, exotic, as well as flowers and fruit look very beutiful. However, constrain encountered in the development of these plants is the availability of seedlingin large numbers with shorten time. To solve this problem, it can be done through tissue culture. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Plant Biotechnology Faculty of Agriculture, University of Tadulako Palu, from August to October 2012. The purpose of this study was to determine the growth of dragon fruit plants at various ages germination and BAP concentrations in vitro. This study used a design Plots Separated ( RPT ) with treatment in the main plot was the age of germination 3, 4, 5 week after trasplanting, while the subplot treatment was the concentration of BAP: 1, 2, 3 ppm. Therefore, there are 9 combinations of treatment and repeated four times, so there are 36 experimental units. Each unit used three explants, so there are 108 explants were used. The results showed that germination ageeffectsignificant on plant height and number of shoots, while the concentration of BAP significantly effect on the number of shoots and number of roots. Media added with 2 ppm BAP (B2) average plant height 3.37, number of shoots 4.08per explant respectively, and media added with 1 ppm BAP (B1) Average number of roots per explant was  0.53.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of shade level on the growth of plantlets dragon fruit . This study used a completely randomized design (CRD), which consists of three treatment that is shaded by 1 (N1), 2 (N2) and 3 (N3) waring layer. Each treatment was repeated three times so there are 9 units of the experiment. Each experimental unit consisted of 10 plants.  Therfore, there are a total of 90 samples of plants were observed. The results showed that the 2, 4, 6 and 8 week after planting, waring with two layers of shade treatment (N2) shown a good value for all the observations such as number of shoots, plant height and stem diameter compared to waringwith one layer of shade (N1) and 3 layer (N3).

Abstract

Research has been conducted to determine some physical soilproperties degradation due to land use change of forest land into plantations of cacao ( Theobroma cacao L. ) in Sejahtera village. The method used in this study was using the survey method. The observations and soil sampling location determined by purposive sampling technique such as observation and soil sampling location determined based on the researchers consideration on soil conditions, slope, land use domination and the age of cocoa contained in the study area. The results shown that there has been a decrease in land capacity because of land use change of forest into cocoa plantations, which forest land has physical characteristics of the soil with a sandy loam texture , permeability classified as moderate , high bulk density, saturated soil water content is quite good, as well as relatively good porosity, whereas cocoa land has physical characteristics with sandy clay loam texture, relatively little slow permeability, high bulk density, saturated soil water content is quite good, as well as the relatively poor porosity.

Abstract

The role of agroindustry  to maintain the primary product into processing products to increase the added value is required. One of the solutions made is to increase the added value of local Palu onion become fried onions. This study aims to determine the added value of being processing the local Palu onion into fried onion which was conducted on Triple C Fried Onion Industry, Raja Bawang Fried Onion Industry and SAL-HAN Fried Onion Industry. The samples determined by intentionally (purposive), considering that these 3 industries categorized as home industry, small industry and middle industry. Respondents in this study was the leadership and employees of the company with a number of respondents as many as 11 people. The results showed that the added value obtained from fried Onion Industry at home level (Triple C fried onions Industry) of Rp.33.846.09 kg , small scale (Raja Bawang Fried Onion Industry) of Rp .39.117,40/kg and middle scale (SAL-HA Fried Onion Industry) of Rp.39.760/kg

Abstract

Palu fried onion is one of the leading commodity in Palu. Unlike the other onions from Java,fried onions from Palu, Sigi, and even Donggala have a unique taste and aroma. This study aims to determine the physical production, the cost of production, selling price and the amount of revenue that the CV Duta Agrolestarireceived on fried onions in thebusiness. Therefore the business achieve break-even point. The results indicate that on average the business produce about 2600 kg fried onions per month. CV Agro Lestari must pay the total cost of production without packaging of Rp . 283.655.960. With the price of Rp.160.000/kg, obtained revenue about Rp.416.000.000, so the average income earned about Rp.132.344.040. The results of the analysis showed that the fried onions business of CV. Duta Agrolestari will achieve the break-even point if the revenue reached Rp.30.720.000/bulan or on average production reached as much as 192 kg per month, with a selling price of Rp.160.000/kg .

Abstract

The high added value that received byagroindustry entrepreneurs trigger increased competition, both in obtaining raw materials and in marketing of processing products. The role of agro industries in maintainthe primary product into processing products to increase the added value is required. One of the efforts made to increase added value mention previous wasto process the wet meatbeef cattle become cattle abon. This study aims to determine the added value obtained after the wet meat processed into cattle abon (shredded meat) at home industry MutiaraHj .Mbok Sri in Palu. Number of respondents were 5 people, including one person as home indutry leaders and four employees of home industry MutiaraHj.Mbok Sri. The added value of this study was the different between the value of output, the contribution of other inputs and raw material prices. The added value of home industry MutiarHj. Sri Mbok was Rp . 50416.67 kg. The total benefits expenditure of this cattle abon home industry MutiaraHjMbok Sri counted of Rp 46.305.78 by total margin of 91.84%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the marketing mix (product, price, promotion and distribution) and level of customer satisfaction of UKM Pengais Jaya Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) in the AmpibaboVillage Sub District Ampibabo DistrictMoutong Parigi. Data were analysed with Fisher s exact probability test analysis (p) and chi square (x2). The results showed a relationship of the marketing mix and customer satisfaction level by using the confidence interval of 95 % or α = 0.05 which obtained marketing mix (product , price, promotion and distribution ) in UKM Pengais Jaya affect the level of consumer satisfaction. Either partially (individual) or colectively, so marketing mix had a significant relationship to consumer satisfaction, especially the marketing mix (product and price).
