Abstract

Melon (Cucumis melo L. ) is a horticultural crop that is quite popular in Indonesia . Good taste and nutritional content makes melon increasingly popular with the public . However , often the continuity of supply in the market is still limited. This is due partly because farmers in Indonesia are still planting using seeds imported melons which is quite expensive. Therefore, an effort that can be done to reduce dependence on imported seed is seed multiplication through tissue culture techniques . The growth in tissue culture plants  is controlled by the addition of plant growth regulators . This study aims to determine the effect of BAP and casein hydrolyzate  for better shoot growth in vitro melon . This research has been carried out in the Laboratory of Plant Biotechnology , Faculty of Agriculture , University Tadulako , Palu . Starting from August to November 2012 . The study design using completely randomized design ( CRD ) Factorial pattern of two factors . The first factor is the concentration of BAP ( 0.25 mg / l , 0,50 mg / l and 0.75 mg / l ) , the second factor is the concentration of casein hydrolyzate ( 150 mg / l , 200 mg / l and 250 mg / l ) . significant treatment effect , Further tests using the Test Honestly Significant Difference ( HSD ) at the 5% level . The results of this study indicate that the use of media with different compositions lead to different effects on the growth of shoots melons . Treatment of 0.50 mg / l BAP + 150 mg / l casein hydrolyzate gives a better effect on plant height, number of shoots and number of leaves

Abstract

This study aims to identify the morphology and anatomy of mangosteen in Donggala especially in the Village Labean and Batusuya. Collection of material using morphological methods of exploration in the field of mangosteen in the Village and Village Batusuya Labean, while observing the anatomy of mangosteen conducted at the Laboratory of Integrated Pest and Disease Tadulako. The research was conducted from August to October 2015. The total sample of mangosteen were observed for morphology and anatomy is 20 samples consisted of 10 samples from the Village Batusuya and 10 samples from the Village Labean, the collected data were analyzed using cluster analysis and the results are seen in dendogram form. From the results contained dendogram diverse accessions of mangosteen in Donggala, especially in the Village and Village Batusuya Labean. Of the existing diversity obtained by the two groups in the Village Batusuya namely BS1 and BS4. Likewise the two groups for the Village Labean ie LB4 and LB2. And a combination of two villages in the two groups obtained mangis namely BS4 and LB2. Key Words: Anatomy, mangosteen, morphology.

Abstract

The experiment was conducted to determine the composition of bokashi fertilizer and liquid organic fertilizer concentration of goat manure on the growth of mustard. This research has been conducted in the Binangga Village, Marawola Sub. District, Sigi Regency since August to November 2014. The research was arrangedbase on Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisting of three levels: control, bokashi 30 tons / ha, liquid organic fertilizer 5 cc / liter, bokashi 15 tons / ha + POC 5 cc / liter, bokashi 30 tons / ha + POC 2,5 cc / liter, bokashi 15 tons / ha + POC 2,5 cc / liter, bokashi 30 tons / ha + POC 5 cc / liter. Thus, there are 7 treatments was repeated 3 times. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance followed by Honestly Significant Different (HSD), if there is a treatment effect on the growth of mustard. The results showed that giving of bokashi organic fertilizer goat manure waste and waste liquid organic fertilizer manure goat very significant effect on the parameters of plant height, number of leaf, leaf area, fresh weight of crown and root, crown dry weight and root crops and fresh weight the total cropand dry weight the total crop. Bokashi organic fertilizer treatment and the best liquid organic fertilizer on growth is at a dose of 15-30 tonnes / ha + POC 2,5-5cc / liter.

Abstract

The research was conducted in the village of Sidera, Subdistrict of Sigi Biromaru, District of Sigi, in May to June 2016. The research aims to find out the effect of various rates of cow manure on growth and yield of mustard.this research was arranged  in a randomized block design (RBD) which consist of 5 rates ofcow manure are: 10 t ha-1, 15 t ha-1, 20 t ha-1, 25 tha-1 and 30 t ha-1 , each treatment was repeated three times to obtain 15 units experiment. The results of this research showed that the application of cow manure significantly affected on growth and yield of mustard plants (plant height, number of leaves, fresh weight and dry weight of plant) and best rate of manure to mustard (Brassica juncea L.) can be achieved at the dose of 25 t ha-1.

Abstract

The objective of the research was to identify scion length and time for a successful graft union of mango plant. The experiment used a Randomized Block Design with factorial pattern replicated three times.  The factors consisted of grafting time (morning, noon, and afternoon), and scion lengths (7.5, 10 and 12.5 cm). The research results showed that grafting in the afternoon produces better graft union seedling.  However, grafting conducted at noon could also generate good graft union seedling as long as the length of the scion was 12.5 cm. The results from the research was still far from perfect. Therefore, it is recommended that the research should be continued in order to identify the treatment consistency.

Abstract

The research aimed at identifying the effect of chicken manure doses on the growth and yield of spring onion was conducted in Wuasa village, North Lore sub district of Poso regency at ± 1100 above sea level.  The research use a Randomized Block Design consisting of 8 treatments: No fertilizer (control), 3 t fertilizer/ha (D1), 6 t fertilizer/ha (D2), 9 t fertilizer/ha (D3), 12 t fertilizer/ha (D4), 15 t fertilizer/ha (D5), 18 t fertilizer/ha (D6), and 21 t fertilizer/ha (D7).  The research results showed that 12 t chicken manures produced the largest yield for plant height and fresh plant weight.

Abstract

The research on vegetative breeding of jack fruit has been conducted through grafting method, aiming at finding out the compatibility of lower cultivar resisting to drought stress with the jack fruit entries of pre-eminent varieties originally from central Sulawesi. Generally, the results of the research indicated that all entries except those grafted with the root stock BK-3 and TL-5 could only survive for 2 weeks leaving only their dead scions.  The latter appeared to be compatible with the Palupi entries as they were still able to live and grew until this research ended

Abstract

The research aimed to identify the growth of some papaya varieties as affected by various fertilizer applications. The research was carried out from November 2008 to March 2009 in "Puspita Karya Karava Tandau" Sidondo of Sigi Regency.  The research used a Split Plot Design.  The main plot was various papaya varieties (V): small local (v1), big local (v2), item (v3), watermelon (v4), Mexico (v5), and Bangkok (v6). The sub plot was fertilizer types (P): control (p0), Saputra Nutrient (p1), NPK (p2), bokashi (p3), Saputra nutrients + NPK (p4), and Saputra nutrient + bokashi (p5). The results of research indicated that only the manure types had significant effect on the growth of papaya.  The mixture of saputra nutrient+bokasi resulted in significantly larger plant stem diameter at 16 months after planting (MAP), height at 18 MAP, and dry weight than any other treatments.

Abstract

The research aimed at determining the age of nangka rootstock and the level of Nutrifarm-SD fertilizer on the successful knitting of grafting.  The research was arranged in a Randomized Block design in a factorial experiment in which grouping was based on the rootstock length.  Two factors applied included the age of the rootstock: 1 month after sowing (BST), 2 months after sowing, and                 3 months after sowing and the levels of Nutrifarm-SD: control, 5 g seed kg-1, 10 g seed kg-1, and 15 g seed kg-1.  Grafting using younger rootstock (1 month after planting) resulted in the largest number of successful bonding.  Either the single effect of Nutrifarm-SD fertilizer or combined effect with the age of the rootstock was insignificance on all parameters observed.

Abstract

Kelompok Tani “Anggosari” Desa Tindaki Kecamatan Parigi Selatan Kabupaten Parigi Moutong merupakan salah satu kelompok tani yang aktif dalam budidaya padi sawah. Masalah yang dihadapi dalam budidaya padi adalah:  (1) kurang tersedianya pupuk organik, (2) rendahnya produktivitas padi yang dihasilkan, (3) serangan hama dan penyakit, dan (4) manajemen organisasi kelompok masih lemah. Program Kemitraan Masyarakat bertujuan untuk membantu petani menerapkan teknik menanam padi sawah organik, mengembangkan input dan bahan produksi untuk mengendalikan hama dan penyakit secara ekologis, dan menyediakan makanan sehat bagi masyarakat. Metode pelaksanaannya meliputi: pembinaan dan pelatihan, praktek teknis dan demonstrasi, pertanaman percontohan serta pembinaan partisipatif. Hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta meningkat. Pada pelaksanaan demplot budidaya padi sawah organik terlebih dahulu diaplikasikan pupuk organik yang telah dikembangkan sebelumnya ke lahan yang akan ditanami sebagai pupuk dasar, kemudian dilakukan penanaman bibit padi yang sesuai dengan prinsip good agriculture practise. Pelaksanaan demplot tersebut adalah dalam rangka  mendukung program pemerintah daerah yaitu Kabupaten Parigi Moutong sebagai daerah beras di Sulawesi Tengah.
