Abstract

Background: The high relapse rate that reaches 67% in patients with schizophrenia is caused by multiple factors, one of them is lack of family support. Patients with schizophrenia need family support during their regiment process to prevent the relapse from occurring. Aim: To identify the correlation of family support (emotional, instrumental, informational and value or reward supports) and relapse prevention in patients with schizophrenia in Sungai Bangkong Psychiatric Hospital, Pontianak. Method: This is a cross-sectional study. The study sample was collected with non-probability purposive sampling method with a total of 81 respondents. Instrument used in this study is a questionnaire with 16 questions in total. Chi-square test was used for the bivariate analysis. Result:  Characteristics of respondents were at the age of the early elderly, with male gender, high school education and private or entrepreneurial work. The analysis shows that there was a correlation between family support and relapse prevention in patients with schizophrenia (p = 0.028). Conclusion: There was a correlation between family support and relapse prevention in patients with schizophrenia in Sungai Bangkong Psychiatric Hospital, Pontianak.

Abstract

Background: Chronic kidney disease is a renal function disorder in which the body fails to maintain fluid and electrolyte metabolism. Chronic kidney disease causes problems in the body's ability which results in disrupted work activities, the body becomes easily fatigued and fatigued because of that it requires intradialysis exercise intervention and lavender aromatherapy to reduce fatigue felt by patients undergoing hemodialysis. Objective: To analyze the effect of intradialysis exercise and lavender aromatherapy on fatigue scores of patients undergoing hemodialysis. Method: Quantitative research used a quasy experiment with the type of pre test and post test nonequivalent control group in 32 respondents using purposive sampling technique. The instrument used the FACIT fatigue scale (version 4) questionnaire with 13 questions to measure fatigue scores. Test used using Paired T Test and Independent sample t test. Results: Paired T test results obtained on the fatigue score of the intervention group (p = 0,000) 0.005 with the mean value before the intervention of 25,56 and after the intervention 30,81. In the control group (p value = 0.001) 0.005 with a mean value before being given a control of 25,50 and after being given a control of 26,62. Conclusion: There are effects of intradialisis physical exercise and lavender aromatherapy administration on fatigue scores of patients undergoing hemodialysis

Abstract

Background: Indonesia is an old structured country because more than 7% of the citizens are elderly people. One of the main purposes that must be achieved by the Ministry of Health is to increase the life quality of elderly people. The Disorders which are usually faced by the elderly people are the stress. The stress that happens constantly can harm the lives elderly people, which is why elderly peoples' level of stress must be stable. One way to lower elderly peoples' level of stress is by a laughing therapy. Purpose: To understand the effects of laughing therapy towards stress level of elderly   in UPT Panti Sosial Rehabilitasi Lanjut Usia Mulia Dharma Provinsi Kalimantan Barat. Method: Quantitative method which uses quasy experimental study design with pre and post test control group study design on 32 respondents. The instrument being used is the Stress Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) and the data analysis being used is Wilcoxon test. Result: The results of this study are Ha accepted with the result that there is an effect of giving laugh therapy to stress in elderly. And there are differences between intervention group and control group. Conclusion: There is an effect in the laugh therapy on the stress level of elderly in UPT Panti Sosial Rehabilitasi Lanjut Usia Mulia Dharma Provinsi Kalimantan Barat, which means the laugh therapy can be recommended to help lowering the stress level of elderly.

Abstract

Background: Patients diagnosed with chronic kidney failure (CKF) and are required to undergo hemodialysis will experience physical and psychological changes. These changes become the source of stress. Although many studies support the beneficial effect of exercise on stress in hemodialysis patients, its implementation as a part of medical treatment is lacking. Aim: To investigate the effect of intradialytic exercise on stress level in hemodialysis patients. Method: This quasi-experimental study used pre- and post-test, conducted on 32 subjects who were collected through purposive sampling technique. The stress level was measured with Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS). Paired-t, Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney tests were used for the analysis. Result: After being given the intervention of intradialytic exercise showed a decrease in the score of stress as indicated by the wilcoxon test gave a value p = 0,021, while on the control group value p= 0,164 as indicated by the paired T test. The results showed no difference in post test the intervention group and control group obtained from the results of the Mann Whithney test with a value p= 0,731. Conclusion: The intradialytic exercise had a significant effect on stress level in hemodialysis patients.

Abstract

Background: Autism is a severe developmental disorder that appears in beginning in the first three years of their life and continuing throughout their life if left untreated. WHO in 2018 reported that 1 in 160 children have autism spectrum disorders. In 2019, a total of 91 children were diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders in Pontianak city. This data was obtained based on the report of 5 handling children places with autism spectrum disorders in Pontianak city, West Kalimantan. Autism spectrum disorder starts from childhood to last through adolescence and adulthood. Parenting is one of the factors that has a major influence on the formation of children character. Purpose: To find out whether there is a correlation between parenting parent with sosial interaction in autism children in Pontianak City. Method: Quantitative research using Cross Sectional design with correlative hypotheses. This study was conducted to 74 respondents of parents (mothers). The instrument used Parenting Styles and Dimensions Questionnaire-Short Form sheet and the Checklist for Evaluation of Autism Therapy Questionnaire. Test used in this research was the Contingency Coefficient test with decision making using V Cramer's value. Result: The results of this research obtained a democratic parenting (41.9%) which results in good social interaction (24.3%). P value of 0,000 and 95% value or ik 3,260 (1,246-8,533). Conclusion: There is a correlation between parenting and social interaction in autism children in Pontianak City.
