Abstract

Humans as social creatures are always interacts each others, including when they are within an organization. All activities that are conducted within an organization need an effective communication. Organizational communication is a process of delivering a massage to all elements within an organization. In this case, organizational communication has a signifiant role in creating an effective organization. The fulfilment of the needs of information and communication in an organization will increase the productivity of its employees. This study focuses on IPDN Jatinangor, an educational institution. When social interactions that include social contact and communication run well, the relationship among elements within the institution is also effectively kept. This situation eventually will increase the productivity of the institution in realizing the main goals of the institution

Abstract

The study in this paper is motivated increasing reports or complaints against television delivered to the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI). This paper aims to look at how the shift from a passive audience or spectators into active audience or spectators give feedback on television shows that they receive, which is now starting to look also at the television audience in Indonesia. Methodology or study in this paper uses literature, to see how the exercise of some theories of mass communication, particularly with regard to the impact of television on the audience. Conclusions or the results of the study for this paper is to begin the shift to a passive audience active audience in the television industry in Indonesia today. If in the past, many obstacles, such as a repressive regime, not the choice of programs and television stations as well as the lack of regulation and the regulator has ever television audience in Indonesia passive. While today, empowering the audience various media and efforts made KPI caused his condition has changed, the audience began to be active. It was indicated by increasing their critical stance, with the umber of impressions made complaints on violation of regulations either through KPIs or other mass media.

Abstract

Hegemony is a concept introduced by Gramsci which has been widely used to examine political, cultural, and ideological forms His fundamental assertion is that there are complex and non mechanical links between culture and politics. He persistently questions what makes a certain cultural form become a common sense and valued ”high” or “low”, the effects of this division, and how such division is contemporarily reproduced CerpenKompasPilihan (Selected KompasShort Stories) and Cerpen Pilihan Kompas (Kompas Selected Short Stories) are selections of best short stories published by Kompas, a mainstream media corporation. They have been published periodically since 1970 and therefore considered an outstanding cultural form in the society. By employing Gramsci’s six key concepts, i.e culture, hegemony, ideology, popular beliefs, the intellectuals, and the state, this paper is aimed at examining (1) the selection process which involves valuing some of those pieces of writing as aesthetically “high” and some others as aesthetically “low”; and (2) the involvement of some elements of the society in the production process as well as in appreciating the best stories

Abstract

Munculnya berbagai gerakan berbasis lingkungan merupakan respon atas krisis lingkungan hidup di Kota Yogyakarta. Atas inisiasi Mantan Walikota Yogyakarta, Sego Segawe (Sepeda nggo Sekolah lan Nyambut Gawe) dihadirkan pada 2008 sebagai gerakan bersepeda. Kultur bersepeda di Kota Yogyakarta yang sedang kondusif dimanfaatkan para pesepeda untuk melahirkan kegiatan bersepeda bernama JLFR (Jogja Last Friday Ride) pada 2010. Secara eksplisit, keduanya memiliki tujuan yang sama, yaitu menumbuhkan kesadaran warga untuk kembali menggunakan sepeda sebagai transportasi hijau. Meski demikian, terdapat perbedaan pada cara Sego Segawe maupun JLFR dalam menggalang aksi secara kolektif. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana perbandingan pola sosialisasi Sego Segawe dan JLFR dalam menggalang aksi secara kolektif dan mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mendukung dan menghambat keberlangsungan Sego Segawe dan JLFR. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan mampu menjadi sarana informasi kepada publik dalam kampanye penggunaan sepeda sebagai transportasi hijau. Penelitian ini berpijak pada teori Aksi Kolektif Alberto Melucci (1996 & 1989), konsep Sosialisasi dari Rush dan Althof (2007), dan 5 Mekanisme Sosialisasi menurut Damsar (2010). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam waktu lebih kurang 3 bulan, yaitu mulai akhir Agustus sampai dengan awal November 2014. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif komparatif. Tehnik sampling yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling. Informan dipilih yang memenuhi syarat penelitian, yaitu; 1 informan dari stakeholder Kota Yogyakarta, 5 informan dari Sego Segawe, 5 informan dari JLFR. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Tehnik analisis data dilakukan dengan cara reduksi data, display data dan terakhir ditarik kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perbedaan antara Sego Segawe dan JLFR pada pola sosialisasi yang dibagi menjadi 5 mekanisme sosialisasi. 1) imitasi: Sego Segawe menggunakan keteladanan Walikota dan Pegawai Balaikota, sedangkan JLFR menggunakan keteladanan komunitas sepeda. 2) instruksi: Sego Segawe menggunakan Surat Edaran (SE) sebagai himbauan bersepeda, namun aspek instruksi tidak terdapat pada JLFR. 3) desiminasi: Sego Segawe kurang memaksimalkan sarana komunikasi, sementara JLFR menggunakan sarana social media dengan intens. 4) motivasi: Sego Segawe menunjukkan dukungan melalui reward kepada pelajar sebagai duta sepeda, sedangkan JLFR menggalang dana untuk pesepeda korban kecelakaan. 5) penataran, Sego Segawe mengalami inkonsistensi pada pelaksanaan kampanye secara parsial, sedangkan JLFR melaksanakan kampanye secara rutin. Pada faktor pendorong dalam keberlangsungan Sego Segawe dan JLFR, antara lain; dukungan dari para komunitas sepeda, perawatan infrastruktur sepeda, dukungan sponsor, iklim trend sepeda dan kemudahan akses internet. Adapun faktor penghambat pada Sego Segawe dan JLFR meliputi; arah pembangunan kota modern, gempuran industri otomatif, kondisi politik yang kurang kondusif, ketergantungan pada fiur dan tidak sedikit masyarakat yang kontra dengan kegiatan JLFR.
