Abstract

The first birth interval is one of the indicators of women’s fertility rate. Because in most cases the first birth interval contains censored observations, the only appropriate statistical method to handle such data is survival analysis. The main objective of this study is to analyze several socioeconomic and demographic factors that affect the first birth interval in Indonesia using the univariate and multivariate survival analysis, that is Kaplan-Meier method and Cox regression model, respectively. The sample is obtained from 2012 Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey (IDHS) and consists of 28242 ever married women aged 15-49 at the time of interview. The results show that age at the first birth, women's educational level, husband’s educational level, contraceptive knowledge, wealth index, and employment status are the significant factors affecting the first birth interval in Indonesia.

Abstract

In this paper, we study the fundamental solution of elliptic equations with real constant coefficients  where is a positive definite matrix. We obtained by searching the radial solution so that we solved the equation into ordinary differential equations.

Abstract

The information on the health status of an individual is often gathered based on a health survey. Patient assessment on the quality of hospital services is important as a reference in improving the service so that it can increase a patient satisfaction and patient loyalty. The concepts of health service are often involve multivariate factors with multidimensional sructure of corresponding factors. One of the methods that can be used to model such these variables is SEM (Structural Equation Modeling). Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) is a multivariate method that incorporates ideas from regression, path-analysis and factor analysis. A Bayesian approach to SEM may enable models that reflect hypotheses based on complex theory. Bayesian SEM is used to construct the model for describing the patient loyalty at Puskesmas in Padang City. The convergence test with the history of trace plot, density plot and the model consistency test were performed with three different prior types. Based on Bayesian SEM approach, it is found that the quality of service and patient satisfaction significantly related to the patient loyalty.

Abstract

Recently, exploitation of biological resources and the harvesting of two populations or more are widely practiced, such as fishery or foresty. The simplest way to describe the interaction of two species is by using predator prey model, that is one species feeds on another. The Leslie-Gower predator prey model has been studied in many works. In this paper, we use Euler method to discretisize the modified Leslie-Gower with harvesting model. The model consists of two simultanious predator prey equations. We show numerically that this discrete numerical scheme model is dynamically consistent with its continuous model only for relatively small step-size. By using computer simulation software, we show that equlibrium points can be stable, saddles, and unstable. It is shown that the numerical simulations not only illustrate the results, but also show the rich dynamics behaviors of the discrete system.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to compare the results of Inverse Distance Weighted (IDW) and Natural Neighbor interpolation methods for spatial data of air temperature in the Malang Region.  Interpolation is one way to determine a point of events from several points around the known value.  Spatial interpolation can be used to estimate an area that does not have a data record using the value of its known surroundings.  38 points observation air temperature of Malang Region in 2016 is used as a sample point to interpolate the surrounding air temperature.  Obtained optimum parameter power value is 2 for IDW interpolation method.  The RMSE comparison results show that IDW method is better to be used than the Natural Neighbor Interpolation method with the RMSE values of 1,2292 for the IDW method and 1,6173 for the NN method.

Abstract

The Hybrid Entropy-TOPSIS method is a combination of two methods, Entropy and TOPSIS. The combination of the two methods is used in the decision-making model to improve the quality of a decision. In this research, the Hybrid Entropy-TOPSIS method was applied to determine the ideal contraceptive tool based on the acceptor criteria. Entropy is a method of weighted criteria, while TOPSIS is a method of decision making through the alternative ranking process based on weighted criteria. The criteria are factors which influence to Keluarga Berencana acceptors for selecting contraceptives. The used criteria in this research were the age, blood pressure, menstrual cycle, the use of contraceptives, and the cost. While the Alternative is contraceptive tool itself. The selected alternatives here were Pill, Injection, Condoms, Implant, IUD and MOP / MOW. Based on the results of the questionnaire data and the simulation, it was obtained that pill and implants has the highest ranking and they indicated that pill and implants as an alternative selection of the ideal contraceptives.
