Abstract

The problem of this research is the development of pawning institution. It seems slowly developedand hardly to complete with other pawning institutions. Therefore, some factors causing this problem need tobe understood. Against this problem, the author feels necessary to examine some factors with important effecton Syariah pawning, such as differentiation, organizational culture, and innovation. Research type is explanatoryresearch, in which it explains the causal relationship between research variables through hypothesis testing.Population of research is manager with authority of strategic decision making in the syariah pawning institutionin Malang City. Sample is taken by census technique. Furthermore the data will be subjected to MultipleRegression Analysis. Result of research indicates that Differentiation, Organizational Culture, and Innovationinfluence sustainable competitive advantage. It may be concluded that higher level of Differentiation,Organizational Culture, and Innovation in the pawning institution can produce higher sustainable competitiveadvantage for pawning institutions in Malang.

Abstract

The important role of waqf as a source of funds and low Muslim’s awareness on cash waqf collectionversus it potential cash waqf in Indonesia push this study. This study aims to determine the level ofunderstanding of the Muslim societies in Surabaya on cash waqf and the factors that influence it, eitherinternal or external factors. Descriptive statistics, Z test, and multiple regression analysis are used for primarydata collected by distributing questionnaires to the Muslim societies in Surabaya. The results show that themost Muslim do not understand cash waqf. The level of understanding is influenced by by internal andexternal factors. The internal factor is knowledge of religion and the external factor is access to informationmedia. To improve understanding of the Muslim societies about cash waqf needs to increase religiousknowledge and access to information media, either print or electronic media.

Abstract

Batik Malang commonly called by Batik Malangan is not yet as popular as Batik Jawa. Batik Malangis very beautiful batik as it has a distinctive and uniqueness among the other batik. Issues examined in thisresearch are: How is the Financial Management of UKM Batik in Malang? What are the factors used inFinancial Management of UKM Batik in Malang? The method used in this research is descriptive. Thepurpose of this descriptive research is to make a systematic overview description, factual and accurate as wellas to explain and to analyze and then draw a conclusion from the results of research on the efforts of financialmanagement and financial performance of UKM. Based on the analysis above shows that batik in Malangwhich consists of three batik ownersthey are not optimal in managing their business finances. The reportingthat is made so far is just a very basic report which only consists of income and expense of funds reportwithout any further action.For good financial management, the necessary steps to be done areto make financialplanning, financial budgeting, financial management and control. If the measure of financial management isdone correctly it will increase the financial performance of batik entrepreneurs in Malang.

Abstract

All of investors value that financial distress conditions and the proportion of financial capitalstructure have effect to become fluctuation of stocks price. Therefore, the aim of this research is to know theeffects of financial distress to the stocks’ price either direct or indirect through financial capital structure. Thisresearch uses descriptive quantitative approach by using sector of service listed in BEI year 2009–2013 as theobject. The sampling method used is purposive sampling. There are 23 companies that have categorized assample. The method that used to predict financial distress is z-score Altman method, whereas to analyst thehypothesis is used path analysis through SPSS TEST by consideration of test classic assumption. Based onthe result the research shows that financial distress gives negative impact to the stocks’ price. Financialdistress caused by capital loss so decrease work of money that effect to the decrease stocks price. It might becaused of using financial structure proportion doesn’t cause business risk that will emerge financial Distressuntil it doesn’t moving stocks price. From Altman z-score prediction shows from 23 companies 10 of it (APOL,BIPP BLTA, BTEL, FMII, HITS, IATA, LIMAS, RIMO, and TKGA) include on financial distress category.Meanwhile, 5 companies (BHIT, BKDP BMSR, OKAS, and ZBRA) include on gray area. Furthermore 8 companies(ASIA, BNBR, CENT, ELTY, LCGP, META, TRIL, and TRUB) include in save condition.

Abstract

Safety management practices not only improve working conditions but also positively influenceemployees, attitudes and behaviors with regard to safety, thereby reducing accidents in workplace. Thisstudy measured employees’ perceptions on six safety management practices and self-reported safety knowledge,safety motivation, safety compliance and safety participation. The study conducts a survey by usingquestionnaire among 69 Pelaksana Produksi Pabrik III (Executive Production Factory) PT. Petrokimia Gresik.The reliability and validity of all the indicators were found acceptable. The data are analyzed using PartialLeast Square (PLS) with SmartPLS version 2.0.The result is safety management practices have direct andsignificant influence to safety performance, safety management practices have indirect and significant influenceto safety performance through safety knowledge, and safety management practices have indirect influence tosafety performance through safety motivation.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of board of directors and commissioner diversitieson leverage ratio. The study population includes all manufacturing companies listed on Indonesia StockExchange in the period of 2013. Samples were taken from 63 manufacturing companies listed on IndonesiaStock Exchange in the period of 2013 with a purposive sampling technique. The analysis technique used wasmultiple linear regressions. The results of this study show that the board of directors and commissioners donot significantly influence the leverage ratio.

Abstract

This research was conducted in DELTA Super Store Kraksaan at the beginning and the end ofAugust 2010. The subject of this research is part of the sale employee (salesman and salesgirl) of DELTASuper Store Kraksaan that consists of 100 people. Meanwhile the sample was taken as many as 80 people withthe sampling technique using simple random sampling. Data analysis that is used is a path analysis, an appliedform of multiple regression analysis, and the purpose is to know the direct or indirect effect of independentvariable on the dependent variable through intervening variable in a research. The result of this researchindicates that physical work environment (X1) has no significant effect on the employee work stress (Z) inDELTA Super Store Kraksaan with a significance, as well as non physical work environment (X2) also has nosignificant effect on the work stress (Z) with a significance, while physical work environment (X1) has significanteffect on the work motivation (Y), non physical work environment (X2) has significant effect on the workmotivation (Y), and work stress (Z) has significant negative effect on work motivation (Y), suggested thatDELTA Super Store Kraksaan must be more pay attention to what any factors can effect employee workmotivation, such as work environment condition both physical or non physical that can make the employeemore enthusiastic in working.
